Was anyone else really disappointed by Jay and Aliona? He looked a bit out of shape. They'd have been better off doing something like the paso or the tango, I think.

They did it twice in a row apparently (Stig on DS went to the launch and did a beautiful blow by blow account). Camera shots/angles so do not blame him for being knackered. Personally would have loved the tango to Prince.

Yes I thought he was a bit out of shape. But i suppose its quite easy to put on weight once you stop doing all that training. they didnt look delighted to be there. I dont know whether theres a story behind Aliona leaving.

I have to say only Ed and Lesley looked really stiff in the group dance. Obviously they all didn't get much camera time each but there were quite a few showing off a few moves.

As much as I dislike him as a politician I found Ed Balls quite endearing in his enthusiasm for having a go.

I have just seen Strictly and think overall that the pairings are good. But, I am disappointed with Laura Whitmore and Giovanni - way too obvious. Also, Lesley Joseph and Anton. I think she should have been paired with someone younger and a better dancer. Why should she be paired with the least good of the professionals because of her age? Anton has had his time on Strictly and it's time for him to go,

Didn't expect to like Ed but actually liked him, but didn't seem to move well, so predict an early exit.

I love watching the dancer's reactions when they get their partners. The most disappointed was Judge Rinder's partner.

They look like they could be a lot of fun this year, specially Eastenders, and dj.

Just read that gymnast is the favourite to win. Greg will be competitive.

Hollyoaks actor is the hunk this year.

I think potentially there could be some good dancing thus year, and a higher standard than in previous years.

Laura whitmore was on I'm a Celebrity on the follow-on programme. She came across a it ditsy at times, but enthusiastic.

Both me and DH commented that Louise looked a bit stiff in the group dance although I was mainly looking at Greg Think he has an excellent chance with Natalie.

raisedby to me it's obvious because she's a very attractive blonde (Giovanni has said he likes blondes); also she is a good friend of Georgia May Foote, Giovanni's ex, whom he split with just before the show. I am pretty sure these two were paired together in hope of a showmance (better ratings etc).

Think Will Y could be rather irritating, he's a bit of a diva in real life apparently. For the first time, I don't recognise at least half of them.

I think Tameka seems like she could be fun, but when I've seen her in interviews seems a bit full of herself and more serious than the persona she wants to portray. I think Lesley seemed a bit disappointed to be paired with Anton, I know he's the one that celebs don't want to be paired with. I thought they got it wrong with that pairing as she seems full of energy and I reckon she could be good. I thought Katie Derham was very good, but was let down with Anton.

Some slebs might want the more obvious eye candy but many slebs like Anton as he is less of a slave driver than Brendan, does exquisite ballroom and makes the whole thing fun for them. Katie loved him and I am not sure how far she would haves got with another sleb actually.

I feel bad now about Anton, you're right that Katie did love him and his ballroom is excellent, I think his latin isn't as good though?. I could be wrong about him in hindsight.

They made it to the final after all. She wasn't ever going to beat Jay. Maybe 3rd not 4th? But I think it was an audience backing them both to the final. On her own I reckon Anita and Glen would have overtaken.
