Starts tomorrow - anyone planning to watch?

It looks like a new version of Castaway without the heavy-handed interference of the TV crew and without the cosy huts provided.

Anton doesn't seem cut out for this sort of intensive communal living, does he?

colouringinagain · 18/07/2016 22:19

Antony is def right about a winter shelter, but impossible in a group!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/07/2016 22:19

MrsJoeyMaynard · 18/07/2016 22:20

Maybe they can use those fishing nets for fishing after all?

gingerboy1912 · 18/07/2016 22:21

Gets off sofa and takes off judgey pants folds them up and puts them away ready for next weekGrin

TheCraicDealer · 18/07/2016 22:22

But his winter shelter only has room for eight people. Either you organise a small working party and start to build one for everyone alongside all the other stuff going on, or you leave it. If people don't think it's a priority you've got to convince them and bring them with you, not just tear on and sort yourself out.

He could have funnelled a load of sea water into that goat and made it vomit.

TheUnsullied · 18/07/2016 22:24

He's not good at winning people over though, and there's only so much he can do alone. The alternative is doing nothing and leaving it until people belatedly realise he's right.

TheUnsullied · 18/07/2016 22:25

He could have funnelled a load of sea water into that goat and made it vomit.

That's would have just killed it quicker as it got absorbed by the chicken feed.

TheUnsullied · 18/07/2016 22:25

*that

gingerboy1912 · 18/07/2016 22:30
Grin
gingerboy1912 · 18/07/2016 22:31

Grin was for Anne

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 18/07/2016 22:40

That's what James Herriot did! Grin

My friends dog ate a 10kg bag of guinea pig pellets and was like that goat, was given a vomiting injection and it was fine. Salt water would have made the goat sick before it was absorbed.

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 18/07/2016 23:53

I tthink goats are like horses they cannot be sick. But still it should have been.purt out of it'd misery.Sad

I watched on +4.

Fishing nets as wardrobesShock Anton.is a prize prick, yes he has a good point about a winter shelter, but in everything he says, it's all 'I' 'me' 'me' 'me', plus taking stuff without asking, then going on about this is MY house, I don't want people just wandering in. No wonder they voted for him not to take stuff to his house.

Jasmine pissed me off , with the you do the menz stuff and walking off.

What happened to the shepherdess? And she really a fully fledged one, or just someone who took it up as jolly? As I found it odd that she wasn't out checking lambing sheep, and the Vet had to fine and rescue lambs, I'd have also thought with a farming backing ground she'd be more involved with the other animals, in.stead of leaving it up to the Vet? Maybe it just how they have edited it though?

Tangofandango · 19/07/2016 01:20

One of them is my daughter's ex.

twittwooery · 19/07/2016 01:37

I think Antons misunderstood. He's doing it to help people and it was originally for everybody, I wonder if he downsized it to make it a smaller but more reasonable project for one man? Also means when they realise they're screwed because of no winter camp although it fits 8 they can probably fit more in, and it means less has to be built then, with more help.

The vet needs some help it shouldn't be just down to him, where's the woman looking after the sheep? And you'd think some kind of pen would be more useful than a sweat room or whatever it was. They're meant to have been there for like 4 months they've already covered a month so what happens in 3-4 weeks when they're up to date?

gingerboy1912 · 19/07/2016 08:19

I wonder if as usual it's been dumbed down for TV. It showed quite a lot of canoodling but nothing on the lambing. The narrator said rob the vet found lots of the lambs in cold water and he had to get them out but we saw nothing. We don't know where the chef is getting all of his supplies. They killed one of the pigs but we didn't see how they butchered it or preserved the meat. So do they have fridges? A generator? Lots of editing going on I think which is a shame.

Milzilla · 19/07/2016 08:45

You're right gingerboy. Tis a shame

MrsJoeyMaynard · 19/07/2016 08:55

We haven't seen much of these polytunnels they've mentioned having for the crops either.

Although the trailer for next week made me laugh when there was a clip of one of the women saying they were away from material things. Convenient how she's forgetting all the material things they've been given to help them get started on this self sufficiency experience.....

TheGardenOfEdenExists · 19/07/2016 09:30

I don't think they have cameras everywhere so maybe that's why we didn't see th me lambing? I don't think they have fridges / electricity (guess they could tap into the camera rig but they might bring the whole lot down!)

TheGardenOfEdenExists · 19/07/2016 09:31

They're filming 24/7 for a year - they can't show the whole lot, guess they have to edit?!
