What's the current score in Gasquet vs Murray?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/06/2016 16:00

15:58

As Richard Gasquet sits down for a break, he starts snarling at the umpire about the time violation he's just been handed. He wasn't happy it came just before break point.

Andy Murray is also having a chunter about the camera hovering above his head as he serves.

A right pair of moaning myrtles we have here.

Anyway, Murray holds to lead 4-0. This is all one-way traffic at the moment.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/06/2016 16:01

Murray 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 4-0 *Gasquet

BagelGoesWalking · 01/06/2016 16:01

1 set all, 4-0 games, Ad to Murray atm.

Gasquet annoyed by time violation called by umpire when break point was against him

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/06/2016 16:02

From the BBC website.

Love that they are being called a right pair of moaning myrtles. Grin

Not sure what the (7-3) in brackets means there. Were they rain delayed from yesterday?

BagelGoesWalking · 01/06/2016 16:05

5-0 to Murray. Damn, have caught up with delay tv so now I have to sit through all the ads. Grrrr!

Gasquet was really peed off by that time violation. Did seem a bit unnecessary, esp at that particular point.

Raahh · 01/06/2016 16:10

Hearts- the 7-3 is the tie break score.

They often give time violations at crucial points. I think they get a kick out of it.Grin

Allez! Richard- don't give up yet!

Not much of a 3rd set then! I hope I'll be home in time to see a competitive final set! Cheers for all the updates.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/06/2016 16:12

Thanks Blush

Raahh · 01/06/2016 16:13

Damn. I have to go out.Angry

Well done, Andy!!!

Those first two sets were amazing & (despite my Tardis ) I did wonder if Andy was going to do it. Such a shame Gasquet collapsed.

CremeEggThief · 01/06/2016 18:36

Shame I missed them. Just waiting to see if Pironkova will take it to a tiebreak before having dinner.

NoBarbaraGood · 01/06/2016 23:04

Well, actual tennis today at RG -- fantastique.

What about Kiki Bertens for the title? I was sorry that she kicked Madison Keys out, but it is quite nice to see some less-than-expected players in the second week.

As much as I admire Gasquet's tennis, I was pleased Andy won. It's just that Richard is not exactly what American commentators love to call "clutch," is he (can't count on him in the big moments)? There needs to be someone more reliable to face He Who Shall Not Win Everything All Damn Year Long.

Go Thiem?

Raahh · 01/06/2016 23:19

I'm back to being team Stan- but would LOVE wee Dom to win.Would be a great story.

I agree that (and I love Richard) had he gone on, he would probably have not carried on in the same vein. I would have liked a French winner though.

The women are interesting this year- I want Gabi to win. But am probably really in the 'Any one but Serena' camp.

And it has been interesting how Shrieky is not missed (though I guess the media are under strict instruction not to mention her).

I'm considering sending our beautiful Scottish sunshine across to Paris in the spirit of the Auld Alliance. My garden would appreciate their rain in return.

JaneJeffer · 02/06/2016 14:11

Didn't get to see much yesterday and now they're rained off again. Looks like Djokovich is going to win this fairly easily anyway. Berdych not pleased with play being stopped.

Raahh · 02/06/2016 14:35

The Thiem /Goffin match is gripping in that it is so evenly matched. goffin has the edge, in that he's had Dom playing catch up, but I think it may go the distance.

Not surprisingly Djok won easily. I have never really got Berdych, he's a player who is always around, but doesn't seem very exciting. I'm sure his fans think differently.

Such a strange, bitty, tournament this has turned into. And I'm even getting to the stage where I don't care who wins.

A Stan / Dom final would be awesome for both.

JaneJeffer · 02/06/2016 15:03

It's all gone pear shaped isn't it? I can't believe we have glorious sunshine in Ireland and it's raining and horrible in France!

MrsVamos · 02/06/2016 15:27

Hullo All

Yy, Raahh has become very strange. Doesn't have a very good feel either. Sad

Not impressed with Novak's racket throwing, match should have been defaulted as far as I'm concerned. Appalling.

Also not impressed with either his or Serena's diva behaviour regarding the rain. Both of them have walked off court today without being told to go in, and for such a tiny amount of time. Plenty of players played in worse conditions earlier this week.

Apparently Novak doesn't like rain, slipping on court or wind.

I have never seen another player who is tall like Novak slip more on court, not only at RG but at Wimby too.

I rather think its him, other than court conditions. Either get some better shoes, or learn to balance and slide better. Angry

I will be sooooo pissed off if he wins. I'm hoping Thiem can give him a good match but I think he's probably not strong enough to beat him yet.

Don't mind who wins Stan V Andy, both could potentially beat Novak, which is unfortunately the Final we're looking at.

Putinseva started off with promise but I see she's been broken back.

Not happy.

MrsVamos · 02/06/2016 15:48

Putintseva takes the 1st set !

Maybe someone has been listening to our wishes ?

Wouldn't it shut the commentators up if there was no Serena and no Novak in the Finals ? What would they talk about ?! (besides how Serena and Novak played so well but had to contend with day to day matches, cold, rain, wind and slippy courts).

thisonethennomore · 02/06/2016 15:55

I'm waiting for Serena to be suddenly struck down with a virus/ pulled muscle/ broken gel nail.

But maybe she'll put through with the commentators love Confused

MrsVamos · 02/06/2016 16:07

Grin thisone

They've already got that in. At the start of the Slam Sam & Marion were very keen to tell us she had already been struck with food poisoning. Hmm

Sam & Marion are definitely the vommentators of RG for the women.

hugoagogo · 02/06/2016 16:10

The commentators on this match is beyond belief

hugoagogo · 02/06/2016 16:11

Are not is ffs!
