I thought the attempt at pathos were completely naff (maybe partly because I hadn't watched for years before the unveilling of Lucy's murderer & am not of the school of thought that Babs Windsor is a national treasure)

Just had an epic catch up session after being on holiday last week. I quite enjoyed the cheesiness of the last few episodes, including Ian's miraculous change of heart. Grant's last line tonight had a fantastic Grant like delivery. Classic stuff.

Phil's exes reminded me of the Christmas Carol ghosts tonight, just the way they were popping up one after another to offer unsolicited advice & warn him of what the future may be like! Grin

Ian was blatantly going to change his mind. It would've all gone through ages ago if he was serious.

I suspect Phil was deliberately not telling Grant just so he could have his mum to himself without golden-Grant distracting her.

I'm already bored with Peggy saying her cryptic goodbyes to all the square residents. Sure, she'll have her nice moment with her abusive husband's murderer but she won't call 2/3 of her children... no, just leave that to Phil: "Oh hi, sibling, just wanted to let you know, mum's cancer came back & I helped her kill herself but didn't tell you anything about it. Will you be coming to the funeral? I need to let Ian know how many sausage rolls to make." Hmm

Leaving aside the bribe donation, it's a boarding school. I don't think a cafe, chippy and veg stall on a market would being in enough to pay the fees and live. Beales never seemed to be full either.

Grant being back was just brilliant. It's almost like he was never away. It's been so long, but he will just slip back in perfectly.

The Bobby storyline really needs to come to some sort of end. It is beyond ridiculous now.
