Why doesn't Ian covert the restaurant into a flat/house and sell it? Price of London property!

Where did Jack get the money to become a property developer, he's an ex police officer?

AndYourBirdCanSing · 17/05/2016 10:32

Can't wait for tonight for some Grant action Grin

CremeBrulee · 17/05/2016 10:33

Bobbie's fees as a full boarder (haven't seen him home at weekends?) at an average Indie will be roughly £10k per term - it's not plausible that they could fund £30k per year in ready cash (after tax) from the income of a chippy & a cafe. Though why they couldn't have worked that out when they first thought of sending him there, I don't know!

Jasonandyawegunorts · 17/05/2016 10:35

I think he's home at the weekends... when was he randomly sitting there and they mentioned getting braces, was that before he started?

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 11:13

I don't remember seeing him recently but that may be because of the Cupboard. I thought he was full time.

Easter wasn't long ago so he would have been home then.

BeYourselfUnlessUCanBeAUnicorn · 17/05/2016 11:44

I think he has only been home at half terms and holidays. Seen some great spoilers. Quite excited for next week.

I felt really sorry for Peggy yesterday, going to all that trouble to cook (and Ben and Louise suspect something isn't right so they should have enough more consideration) and they just didn't bother to turn up. Very rude.

It was so obvious Ian wasn't going to sell the restaurant. Probably done just to lead in to the next bit of the story....

Buster is fast getting bloody annoying.

Loved Grant coming back like that. Wish he was staying longer. We need some decent storyline, not the dross that's coming out recently.

Where is Courtney?!

Optimist1 · 17/05/2016 11:52

And still no-one mentions Max!!

The80sweregreat · 17/05/2016 12:40

Courtney, I had forgotten about her! she must be a teenager now or in her twenties? when did Tiffany up sticks? does she live with Grant? cant remember. then there is Mark, Grant's son with Michelle fowler, does her know about him?
poor Max, I hope this business with Bobby is sorted out soon, been dragging on for too long.
Grant not in it for long, which is a shame.
Peggy was okay, her on / mostly off friendship with Pat and Frank was quite good and did played the part well most of the time, but I wont be sorry when she finally leaves for good! I wish Aunt Sal was in it a bit more, she is really forthright and not as annoying as Babe either.

unimagmative13 · 17/05/2016 12:55

I hate to break it to you but Tiffany is dead Confused

magicstar1 · 17/05/2016 13:06

It's a quick visit for Grant, but then he's coming back for another few weeks for a different storyline. I'd say it's to do with Michelle's son.

southeastdweller · 17/05/2016 13:09

It's only a few 'elite' schools that charge 30k, the rest charge south of 24k. I don't think it's unrealistic for two people with no other dependants, no mortgage and income from four businesses to have the money to send him to the school.

unimagmative13 · 17/05/2016 13:11

Michelle's son will be back for the wedding.

unimagmative13 · 17/05/2016 13:12

They had to be able to bring Bobby back somehow

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 13:15

Full boarding at Whitgift in South Croydon is £34,656pa

Equiem89 · 17/05/2016 13:17

I can't wait til Bobby gets his just desserts!

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 13:26

I wonder how it will play out and what the consequences for Jane and Ian will be?

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 17/05/2016 13:39

Wasn't the £25k extra that Ian agreed to pay to the school as some kind of bribe for keeping Bobbie in there? On top of the fees?

Ian agreed to make a massive donation at a tense meeting with the head and that's when he needed to sell the restaurant.

SoupDragon · 17/05/2016 13:47

Yes, there was a "donation" involved too.

Equiem89 · 17/05/2016 13:48

I think Bobby wasn't clever enough or something like that so Ian had to bribe the head.

In a way I hope Jane doesn't get punished as she loves Bobby dearly but her and Ian know he a psycho child!

MrsJayy · 17/05/2016 13:49

Aye that why he was selling Beales he could have just got a bank loan though guess that's a bit of rubbish story

MrsJayy · 17/05/2016 13:50

Jane knows he's a phsyco child I still say she's next

Equiem89 · 17/05/2016 14:26

Hasn't he already hurt her? Who did he push does the stairs? Cathy?

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 17/05/2016 14:31

Jane

southeastdweller · 17/05/2016 14:38

So my info was a bit of date but I still think a couple like Jane and Ian could afford boarding school fees.

SheHasAWildHeart · 17/05/2016 14:40

Bobby has already pushed Jane down their stairs.
Am sure Steven shot her which is why she can't have children.
Lucy was horrid to her.
Most of her step-kids are a nightmare. In RL she would have LTB a long time ago.
