They should have a whole episode of patrick singing.

Akire · 20/05/2016 08:27

AgreeBlinda is growing on me. Why didn't anyone think of passing the toileys over the fence at the top of the stairs? Only seem to be waist high would have saved a lot of bother.

Agree about Dot no great story lines though Nik and grandson back from dead was good! who's the strong matriarch now Carol left? Jane lol

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/05/2016 08:30

"Phil i only have one regret... Dying"

I thought she was going to say that.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/05/2016 08:30

who's the strong matriarch now Carol left

Tracey, everyone listens when she speaks.

unimagmative13 · 20/05/2016 08:43

Let me guess.

We've got two episodes coming up with Grant and Sams letters?

Optimist1 · 20/05/2016 09:04

I can't figure out why Jack had 40 toilets - he's converting the house to flats but 40 toilets??

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/05/2016 09:04

in case of blockages most likely.

VashtaNerada · 20/05/2016 09:14

The toilets were a mistake, delivered by accident.

Dot is the voice of wisdom for everyone isn't she? Stacey, Ronnie, Sonia... And she never seems at all phased nowadays whereas I'm sure in the past Sonia wittering on about how her girlfriend fancies her because of her breasts would have got a "well I never did!" and a puff on a cigarette.

harverina · 20/05/2016 09:15

I cried last night. I think Steve is brilliant.

SoupDragon · 20/05/2016 10:04

Why didn't anyone think of passing the toileys over the fence at the top of the stairs?

I wondered that! Comedy value I expect :)

MissBattleaxe · 20/05/2016 10:08

Agree. Steve McFadden is outstanding. He is classically trained and has an outstanding range. I saw him interviewed on the red carpet and he was articulate and dry and just really different from Phil. I'm a big fan and it baffles me when the popular, attractive actors get the best acting awards. Steve is head and shoulders above most of them

NuggetofPurestGreen · 20/05/2016 10:32

He is an amazing drunk actor. I think he did come first when BBC did a 'best characters' countdown for the one of the anniversaries.

BeYourselfUnlessUCanBeAUnicorn · 20/05/2016 11:21

Steve is brilliant. I also got upset when he was making the cocoa and going up to check on her. So sad. And when he read his letter. That was the bit that tipped me over the edge. And seeing Shirl upset as it takes a lot for her to cry!

Dot actually seems pointless now. I'm sure I read June wants less storylines so she only pops up every now and again. I think it's because her eyesight is failing in RL. Surely it would be better to give her something decent and write her out now. Its the same old same old with her. Sounds awful but what are they going to do if June suddenly dies in RL?

MagpieCursedTea · 20/05/2016 11:27

She can't afford to retire apparently which is why Dot is still in it.

MrsJayy · 20/05/2016 11:27

June Brown was ranting on Tv she wants more storys but tbf she is in her 80s her eyesight is failing and i think the workload would be too much for I her

UptownFunk00 · 20/05/2016 11:44

I cried at last nights too - poor Phil. Now it's a good actor who can make you weep for their character.

Phil is my all time favourite character - he's so dynamic and has many layers, which makes him a 3 dimensional character.

I loved the new music too.

I have a funny feeling Andy is going to do something really dodgy.

I don't condone corporal punishment but that Bobby needs a tap on the wrist - what a spooky little brat with a sadistic streak.

I think Grant starts off quite wooden then a few days in gets the swing of thingsZ . Unfortunately, he's usually only in a few days so that's his time up.

I think Dot is great but realistically think JB should retire now whilst her health is still good.

Inspired by Peggy's last I know a way to bring Fats back for a final time - have him appear in a dream in Dots mind before she passes in her sleep as Dor doesn't deserve to be in any pain.

SymphonyofShadows · 20/05/2016 11:50

I've avoided this week's episode until last night. I can't abide Babs, I'm not quite sure why she was made a Dame. Does anyone remember the original Peggy? She was much more realistic as the mother of Phil and Grant.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/05/2016 12:01

what are they going to do if June suddenly dies in RL?

Remember when John Brandon had his stroke, they had Dot call up the stairs to him that his taxi was here for his holiday. Then had his stroke off screen.

Same thing will happen here. Ian / max / Jake will tell everyone that they are dropping Dot off at the airport for her holiday, then they will get a phonecall to say she died.

If i was producer i'd have her film a death scene now "just in case", that way it will give her a good send off.

I'd make her actual death halucination a massive fever dream with nick cotton trying to tempt her to come with him, then turn into the devil, and someone else becon her to the light... Probably CGI ethel.

IOt will be completely bizzar and brilliant.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/05/2016 12:04

jake = jack.

SheHasAWildHeart · 20/05/2016 12:27

Seriously?! That's awful. Anyone can die regardless of age and health. Imagine someone asking you to do something just in case you die.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/05/2016 12:28

Imagine someone asking you to do something just in case you die.

No different to making a will surely?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 20/05/2016 12:47

I'd make her actual death halucination a massive fever dream with nick cotton trying to tempt her to come with him, then turn into the devil, and someone else becon her to the light... Probably CGI Ethel

Now that would be awesome Grin

BreconBeBuggered · 20/05/2016 13:14

Agree with Symphony about the original Peggy Mitchell, who was a proper old-fashioned matriarch and reminded me of Maw from The Broons.

bialystockandbloom · 20/05/2016 14:46

Oh pleeeeeeeease let's have a CGI Ethel Grin Grin Grin

Lol at Tracy being the matriarch. Poor her. She has one line a decade and it's never delivered audibly.

bialystockandbloom · 20/05/2016 14:46

Yes I remember original Peggy. much more dowdy.
