Or she has an unusually long gestation period :)

MissBattleaxe · 19/05/2016 14:35

Yeah Pat was a brilliant character. Iirc it was Pam St Clement's choice to kill off Pat, she wanted to leave

Actually Pam St Clement wanted to take a break but they decided to kill her off. It wasn't what she wanted.

ArtfulPuss · 19/05/2016 14:38

Whoever cast phil and grant did a great job, they really do look related.

Whoever cast Belinda too - it's rather uncanny how she looks like both Kat and Stacey.

One of my favourite bits of Tuesday's ep was Belinda's 'too pretty for prison' rant Grin Really, though, how come no one spotted them smuggling those toilets next door in broad daylight?

MrsJayy · 19/05/2016 14:45

Dd just told me Kellie Bright is pregnant well done all you early bump spotters

MrsJayy · 19/05/2016 14:46

Oh its old news and only 12 weeks oh well

MrsJayy · 19/05/2016 14:48

Belinda itll turn me a lesbian Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/05/2016 15:04

Knew she had to be preg. Always so slim and has a tummy now

Watching the documentary about Peggy now. Talk about over the top. DTC is prone to hyperbole isn't he!! 'Peggy Mitchell is London'. No she isn't!

Pat and Dot were far more iconic characters I think. And the Beale-Fowlers are the mainstay of Enders not the Mitchells (who are a bit rubbish tbh)

NuggetofPurestGreen · 19/05/2016 15:36

I don't mind Phil and Grant but all the other Mitchells are rubbish.

MissBattleaxe · 19/05/2016 16:54

I think Belinda is fantastic. it's hard for a new character, and even harder for a re-cast character, but she was perfect from Day One. I don't miss Kat at all. Belinda is more watchable!

southeastdweller · 19/05/2016 20:04

It's been played many times just before the credits but that was the first time in 31 years I can remember 'Julia's Theme' being played before and during the credits.

unimagmative13 · 19/05/2016 20:07

Is her body just sitting over there while just sit around at Ian's?

The whole pub knows before the police have been.

unimagmative13 · 19/05/2016 20:08

Also his mum was going to take her own life, but she changes her mind so Phil goes to the pub and Grant goes home? Hmm

Optimist1 · 19/05/2016 20:11

Whose car was Bobby taking the golf club to?

I agree that the documentary was indulgent and Dombara (Barbinic??) were off an a flight of fancy. Peggy was an important character, but as PPs have said, Dot, Pat and others have exceeded her.

BeYourselfUnlessUCanBeAUnicorn · 19/05/2016 21:29

I'm guessing Jane's car. He really is an odious little scrote.

bigboypants · 19/05/2016 22:21

I felt really sorry for Phil, making his mum a cocoa, that she was never going to drink. It was uncharacteristically sweet of him. It made me feel quite sad. Sad

BlueThursday · 19/05/2016 22:24

I don't think that the close was actually a Julia it sounded a bit jazzy

MagpieCursedTea · 19/05/2016 22:45

Was Phil putting butter in the cocoa?

bialystockandbloom · 19/05/2016 23:06

missbattleaxe I didn't know that - that's a shame, and a massive trick missed for EE Sad

Have to (respectfully!) disagree about Dot - always felt that she's given more credence than her character/storylines and actually even the acting has deserved. IMHO obv [The storylines back with Ethel were great but that must've been 20 years ago. Recently she's just been reduced to a caricature having to say "you know me I ain't one to gossip" and not much else in just about every scene she's ever in.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 19/05/2016 23:21

Ah I liked her romance with Jim and her relationship with Fatboy too.

ChimpyChops · 19/05/2016 23:28

I am not an expert by any means but was that a new theme for Peggy? I don't think I have heard it before.

hippiedays · 19/05/2016 23:29

Whats 'a Julia'?

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/05/2016 02:36

not much else in just about every scene she's ever in.
That's not true she also

  1. quotes the bible
  2. walks in on characters having sex

Whats 'a Julia'?
The piano music they replace the eastenders theme with when someone leaves for good is called julia's Theme.

MissBattleaxe · 20/05/2016 08:17

Don't forget Dot's other job of giving advice to Ian.
