I just watched it. What those families and survivors have gone through all these years is appalling.
Justice at last.

Hey Mozz just re-read my post and didn't mean it to come across quite so forcefully! Sorry. And I absolutely agree that accessing services to deal with the horror of Hillsborough and other extreme trauma was a problem back then and still isn't great now.

My dad wasn't in the crush but he was profoundly affected by having my 9 year old brother with him at the game and the 'chance' element of having got seating tickets that time. Then 2 years later (unrelated) his brother was murdered and he's never been the same.

After the London bombings in 2005, take up of counselling and support for the survivors of the bombing a was very low. Even then victims didn't feel they could take up the support.

Blooming stoicism has a lot to answer for. I was in London and used the tube, was very close to the Edgware Road bomb, same time, different line. It affected many of us for a long time, and the 10 year anniversary was extremely emotional.

I can't imagine what 27 years of being blamed and vilified, having memories of those who died tainted by lies would do.
Whatever society does to make it up to the victims of Hilsborough is never, ever going to be enough.

£25 million that the bereaved could have been given. Obviously money meant very little to them anyway! It's just utterly fucking. ..just no words. ...

It is - and it's not just the money either - it's the deliberate continuing of covering-up the truth, in the face of absolute evidence that they had lied. They used everything in their power to continue that lie for as long as they possibly could- and now it's out they run from the News cameras. One particular man was very vocal after the disaster - seems he's lost for words now Hmm

It's obscene what they've put these families through.
