Thank you all so much for the fun and laughs on these threads, it's been a blast and apologies for going off track with my shingles experience.

This is my soppy moment now so bear with me, some of you know that ds2 is disabled and ds1 suffers with depression so at times life has been rough, over the few weeks with the help of you lovely lot you have got me through such a tough patch and I think when I got sick myself I thought I might just lie down and stay there, but I knew I would laugh when I logged on to MC threads, and ds1 is well again and back working, so all is going in the right direction.

Thanks again and let's all look forward to Celebrity MasterChef Grin

Aww Ellen it was a bastarding sodding bugger to have shingles and so glad you dipped in and out. I love the good ole telly threads, they are always uncontroversial. might be wrong spelling when wine is involved!

See you at Sleb MC! Smile

Ahhhh ellenora what are you doing being all sweet and lovely on our bitchy, cynical thread! It will upset the cosmic balance Wink

I'm so happy that your health has improved and you've shown those shingles who's boss and I'm even more happy to hear that your ds1 is well again. I'm glad these threads have such a positive effect. They certainly make me roar with laughter at times and increase my enjoyment of the show x 10.

We'll meet back here for Celeb Masterchef!

I was a bit late starting so have just seen the result. Congrats to Jane. Gutted for Billy. Will be interested to see what he and Jack get up to in the future.

I can see Jack having a book out shortly of his twisted comfort food.

PS I did catch a story in the London Standard this evening that Jack and Billy now want to open a restaurant together. Dunno how well-founded in fact that is, but Billy's going to have to work on those shaky hands.

I am delighted that Jane won, she deserved it based in her food tonight. Going back to pp, seafood was eaten all over working class London with seafood stalls outside pubs (I remember one on the Chiswick side of Kew Bridge), not just the East End. Interesting that Billy comes from "Battersea" but Jack from "West London" Confused

I thought Jack was from F'lam. Both have gorgeous London pads though.

What a lovely idea the two of them opening a restaurant together!

I laughed at an article about Billy... apparently his partner has only just learnt how to cook an egg... and everyone is tweeting about him and his eggs!

Someone tweeted "why doesn't he just marry a bloody egg" and the end of the article says..
"So that final shot of his work station covered in broken egg-mess was not only a fitting bookend to his MasterChef experience but a tribute to his tenacity in following only his own rules, repeatedly thinking an egg would be a good addition to a plate. His last egg didn’t make it onto his full English dish, but it made it onto the kitchen bench of our hearts. "

Sums it up! Grin

I'd like to see them on their own show. Both come over realky nice and enthusiastic and seem to get on well.

Congratulations to Jane. I wasn't sure to start with but she had an amazing final (and she has nice dogs).

So happy Jane won, it was really well deserved and I hope that she goes on to bigger and better. Think Jack and Billy have bright futures ahead - wouldn't be surprised if Billy went to work with Michael o'Hare for a bit.

I was glad Jane won - I thought it would be a toss up between her and Jack
She was a woman, over a certain age as her 'children' looked to be teenagers, had carved a career for herself, and she had NICE DOGGIES - say no more.
Jack will do well out of being a close second Smile as he was very charismatic and personable.

Jane was interviewed this morn and she came across well. They asked her why she hadn't mentioned her illness and she did say she didn't want it affecting the result, so hats off to her or whatever the phrase is!
