She can't see that she could change. She's accepting it as inevitable that she's going to be an alcoholic forever and that he's as good as she deserves. So sad.

I really hope Joe stays well, he has such a lot ahead of him.

Aurelie just doesn't think that she is worth it, she's resigned to the addiction. Gary is just confirmation of her feeling of not being worth it.

I don't know if I would have the courage to deal with RL if I had been an alcoholic from over 30 years either. The thought of it is probably scarier than the reality.

I hope Joe continues his recovery.

Lovely lad. That was one of the most accurate descriptions of being an alcoholic that I have ever heard. I live in Brighton too, if I see him around I'll give him a massive hug.

Daytoday - there wasn't an update but from experience when it gets to that point without transplant you are pretty near the end . It was pretty accurate what the professionals said, certainly in my dad's case.
