Great to see it back shame it's only for 3 EPS, due to Surannes Dr foster work? And seems they've written her pregnancy in?

Very interesting case and loving the fact they've got teens and child pornography laws as a sub-plot, it sometimes comes up as an issue on mn.

That's very true Akire - it misses that strong female in charge to sort them all out.

Kwirrell · 22/04/2016 21:00

Who was the detective kissing in the car In the closing scene.

oneowlgirl · 23/04/2016 00:23

Goodness, I've missed that altogether - didn't see anyone kissing!!

southeastdweller · 23/04/2016 11:31

I'm not enjoying this series as much as the others. The case they're working on is dull, I'm missing Gill, and it doesn't feel the same now they're both not equals and working closely together. Also, why hasn't Janet's ex-husband been featured or mentioned?

problembottom · 23/04/2016 12:16

I absolutely love Scott & Bailey. Fabulously strong central female characters and some brilliant storylines in the past.

Am enjoying this (mini) series but not as much as before. I dislike Rachel more than I used to and I've not really engaged with the plot.

diddl · 23/04/2016 17:21

I loathe Rachel!

And I know that SJ was pregnant irl, but did they have to include it?

She's already had a pregnancy storyline!

I can't get interested in the crime-there's too much other stuff going on.

Taisy(?), pregnancy, death of Mitch.

DanyellasDonkey · 23/04/2016 17:43

It was the new female detective who appeared to be kissing her girlfriend in the car. Very irritating character to begin with, but she may improve with time.

I don't seem to be enjoying this series as much as previous ones - missing Gill's character, sorry to see Mitch killed off and the other fat male detective is just plain annoying with his childish behaviour. I also used to enjoy Suranne Jones' dreadful mother making her occasional appearances,

tribpot · 23/04/2016 17:55

I thought Lesley Sharpe was incredible in this last episode, fantastic hostage scene.

I didn't realise it was a mini-series, there seems like rather a lot to get through in the next one. Would Rachel really still be debating what to do with her pregnancy at 14 or 16 weeks? Confused (Not to mention necking champagne etc, isn't she a recovering alcoholic?). Why write it in at all? A few baggy clothes and the job's a good un.

Definitely missing Amelia Bullmore.

AugustaFinkNottle · 24/04/2016 14:28

Shame about Mitch, he was my favourite amongst the subsidiary cops.

I agree about Lesley Sharpe's acting in the hostage scene, it was brilliant.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 24/04/2016 14:44

We've loved this show from the beginning and I think this 3 parter isn't as strong as the first two series.

Still good but not a patch on Happy Valley.

RebootYourEngine · 24/04/2016 19:18

I missed the end of the last episode.

I have a feeling that the new female officer is dodgy. I reckon she took the notebook and is leaking info to the press.

tribpot · 24/04/2016 19:22

Ooh nice one Reboot. That possibility had not occurred to me.

Kwirrell · 24/04/2016 20:18

I agree reboot I think she is dodgy.

RaeSkywalker · 24/04/2016 20:24

Reebot yep I think so too!

Optimist1 · 27/04/2016 11:51

Good thinking, Reboot - the girlfriend will probably turn out to be a journalist. Shame, because I liked Anna as a new character.

Susiesoap7 · 27/04/2016 21:44

Was really looking forward to this but found it really disappointing ☹️☹️😣

RaeSkywalker · 27/04/2016 22:05

I love it.

That said, I have zero tolerance for anything remotely tense or scary at the moment- pregnancy hormones. I was nearly crying with fear towards the end there, DH had to mute it Blush

RaeSkywalker · 27/04/2016 22:07

If it was a longer series it would've been better I think, it all got wrapped up very quickly tonight. But I still really enjoyed it (apart from the fear).

RaeSkywalker · 27/04/2016 22:51

Disappointed that the day book thing didn't turn out to be anything more than Mitch being a bit careless. I've only just realised that it was never mentioned again.

Clawdy · 27/04/2016 23:07

It ended a bit too neatly for me,rather rushed. All that ringing the police station and getting no answer at first when she was in terrible danger. ....and her being in such a desperately lonely bit of Victoria Station! All a bit implausible.

RaeSkywalker · 27/04/2016 23:14

DH wants to know how the murderer knew exactly where she would stand Grin

SweetestThing · 28/04/2016 14:46

Disappointing end. I thought the same as your DH, RaeSKywalker - how convenient that she just "happened" to stand there. No mention of the notebook and it did all feel a bit rushed. The interaction between the two leads isn't the same now that Rachel is more senior - also her time in the Met has meant she's disengaged from this team, although if she's staying, and there's another series, that might change.

Can't watch Marcella - far too confusing and I can't take my eyes off Anna Friel's upper lip.

polyhymnia · 28/04/2016 15:24

Think this might be last series. If so, perhaps for the best as various factors, including the rushed 3 episode format and lack of Gill and of Sally Wainwright's writing made this less enjoyable and engaging than previous series.

Fiderer · 28/04/2016 18:36

It is the last series. I too thought it needed more episodes, wasn't sure which suspect was which for a bit.

Missed Gill but was good seeing Rachel be in charge and the affect on the team. She & Janet worked well still. I wouldn't like to work for Rachel though, for Janet - yes.

Who was the man who killed Mitch?

And why did Janet texting Tas's boyfriend proof he wasn't a victim? "Tas" would have requested them. Was it that Tas had sent him pictures of her & the text would prove it was reciprocal?

RaeSkywalker · 28/04/2016 18:41

Gutted it's the last series, I didn't know!

It was lovely to have a drama written by women, about women. The female characters were wonderfully- it's unusual to have a drama where there are so many strong, complex women at the focal point of the action. I will miss it.
