Let's hope it's better tomorrow then!

ellenanora5 · 25/04/2016 20:58

That's all folks, catch you all tomorrow, it should be a good one Smile

afterthegoldrush · 25/04/2016 20:59

Back in Wednesday and not tomorrow

Roussette · 25/04/2016 20:59

See you Wednesday.

Wordsaremything · 25/04/2016 20:59

Thought it was my connection - think site problem Angry
Missed you all!

BlueJug · 25/04/2016 21:46

Just come in and watched on iPlayer. I hate this round - boring food and no-one seems to learn much. Don't see the point.
Poor Billy. Poor everyone really in the blue team.
Disappointing episode

tilliebob · 25/04/2016 21:49

All I could think as people waited outside for their turn, ran their hands through their hair and over their faces and then raced into the kitchen, was "Has anyone washed their bloody hands?!" HmmGrin

Bloody double posting - what's going on tonight? I got the "it hasn't posted" message first it was lying

SoupDragon · 26/04/2016 07:25

With the whole "don't know how long it's been cooking for" nonsense, don't they have a timer?

Roussette · 26/04/2016 08:08

I do find that episode frustrating, think it is just telly filler because no one gets voted off and the rotund one and JT take no notice of who bottoms out or who does well in it

The skills for it seems to be in who can leave the tidiest kitchen so the last person can plate up, and who can leave the most clues (tiny blob of pastry on work surface was inspired Grin)

As DS said "what was this supposed to test - telepathy?"

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/04/2016 09:43

It's always like that on Masterchef, though. From time to time, they have a round which is about practising skills or learning about new things, and nobody passes or fails. Then back to the next test. This one was about starting the teambuilding process before they have to cook for the entire British navy on the deck of a warship during a battle (judging by the trailer!).

SoupDragon · 26/04/2016 10:19

I think it's an interesting challenge. The first person has it easy as it's pretty much a straight invention test. The others then have to think on their feet to work out what has been done and what needs to be done next - perhaps good skills if they have to take over in an "emergency". It maybe gives an insight into adifferent skill set.

I do think it's daft though and I'm glad no one leaves purely based on that test.

Roussette · 26/04/2016 10:33

I want drama though, e.g. no. 3 comes in having no idea that pastry tart is in oven on high and they don't look in oven and next minute, smoke is coming out of oven door. Or someone has hidden the potatoes in a pan under 4 unwashed pots and they can't find them. That type of thing. Grin

Haha I was willing for soemhing to go wrong too, just to make the episode more interesting. Has anyone watched the international versions of the show? They always set them up with varied and interesting challenges.

cleanmachine · 26/04/2016 15:39

Really not warming to liz. She always does the same plate - roast dinner strewn across the plate. Am really missing exotic good this season. Everything is so samey.

Really fancy Billy. ......that hair....

foxessocks · 26/04/2016 19:28

I haven't caught up yet so I'm not reading the last few pages of the thread yet but just wanted to say if anyone gets radio times magazine check out Alison graham column it's about gregg and pretty much sums up all our feelings!

One quote "why every single masterchef contestant doesn't rise to their full height and yell, "gregg, just get out of my face, will you, I'm trying to concentrate on cooking" is one of the minor miracles of modern television.

So true!!

originalmavis · 26/04/2016 19:32

Why does nobody ever get bleeped? I would definitely get bleeped.

'Yes I'm stressed, fuck off'
'Yes I'm busy, fuck off'
'Just fuck off'
'Dont like it? Fuck off'
'Bollocks to this, where's the fucking gin?'
'Awwwwshiteingfuckingbastards'

ellenanora5 · 26/04/2016 20:09

originalmavis Grin wouldn't that be great

foxessocks, she probably reads this thread muttering to herself, "I wish I could put that in print" Smile

Bakingnovice · 27/04/2016 09:14

Hubby took me to a posh restaurant one and greg was there. He was loud brash uncouth and drunk. He was leering and rude to the young waitress and really spoiled our meal. He kept complaining about the food and yelling for the staff at the top of his voice.

We ended up being refunded for most of our meal by the manager who looked utterly feed up of him and apologised. I just don't understand how he still on MC. From what I've heard from insiders he is hated by most of the MC staff.

originalmavis · 27/04/2016 09:21

John Torode can do no wrong in my book. He can poo on a plate and I'd applaud...

He was lovely to DS (big fan of Master chef) when he spotted him at a school fixture and sidled up to him for a chat. Same with Jamie Oliver (my son, the celebrity chef stalker).

Bring back Michel roux!

Roussette · 27/04/2016 12:18

The rotund one is a twonk

Tonight is 9pm and cooking for the Navy.

Cue lots of panic, shouting, navy getting hungry and queueing up before it's ready Grin
