Just sayin'

OP posts:

I think we are supposed to think she's the killer but I don't get why people would think it was the husband. How is he supposed to know that she was having a black out when she arrived at Grace's house? Wasn't the man who attacked the intruder just random? Was he one of the other men? One more question, I couldn't work it out, was it the owner of the shop where the guy us doing community service who was tending to his wound? Is he supposed to be the intruder then? Confused!

LovePGtipsMonkey · 12/04/2016 01:37

lazy, yes the intruder was the baker - that's why I was asking earlier, why do they trust him to supervise, is he an ex-police? and again no idea what his motive was re that break-in.
Ah, but M's husband knew about her blackouts as it happened after she has beaten him up. He didn't KNOW it would happen at that time, but he worked out it happens during her rages - he didn't plan to kill the blonde but I think the opportunity presented when M had a blackout and already had hit the blonde before the blackout, and if he IS a killer he couldn't resist the opportunity - especially if she could be framed for it. It could be someone else and not the hisband, but only someone who knows where both women live AND wasn't puzzled by her blackout so knew about that - can't think atm who else could it be.

HooseRice · 12/04/2016 10:45

AF's area above her top lip has some serious cover up make up on it. It's a different shade to the rest of her face.

Oh yes and some murder mystery stuff Grin

squoosh · 12/04/2016 11:47

I want to give Lady Edith a shake! Stop being chummy with creepy baker men.

HooseRice · 12/04/2016 12:04

It took me ages to work out where I knew Lady Edith from

HelloTreacle9 · 12/04/2016 13:32

I was so freaked out at the end of last night's episode I went straight to bed with DH after making him lock up rather than having my usual late bubble bath...

The 'Agatha Christie' rule of crime writing is that the investigating officer should never be the murderer so am assuming this is the case, just can't unravel everything yet as not enough info!

But am confused. AF clearly thinks she's murdered her EXDH's GF in a ragey blackout. But why the bag over head of corpse? Is she unconsciously doing a copy-cat murder? CCTV shows her driving to the flat and then driving away again about an hour later doesn't it? So perhaps she rowed with the OW but didn't actually hurt her, and the Main Murderer was already in the house. OW was doing coke at some point, was she alone in the house? Did AF come to in her own bathroom covered in blood or at the flat? And how would she have flashbacks to where OW body was hidden if she had not been there herself in some capacity?

Bakery shop owner clearly the intruder, but does that mean the con is not the main murderer? Lady Edith is either very silly or very clever.

How many murderers/intruders/weirdos ARE THERE?

And the gay guy with beard's gleeful ref to 'they only found the body when blood started dripping through ceiling' - did we not see that in very first scenes of last week, in the corner shop with the Jack Russell licking something?! How linked?

But the weirdest thing of all was the relationship between AF and her EXDH and the kids. Why are they at boarding school? Why did their dad not want to see them? Why is the daughter so suspicious? Why no affection? Are they there because AF worried about blacking out and hurting them? In doc's office there was ref to 'poor little Juliet' or some other girl's name. So what's going on there? More skeletons...

Gah. Am thinking about this waaaaay too much now.

hairymelonwalton · 12/04/2016 14:15

i havent read the full thread so apolgise if this as been asked already
is the suspected killer baker man (him out of corrie) the same man who played anna friels abusive dad in brookside

HooseRice · 12/04/2016 14:19

No it doesn't look like Trevor Jordache to me

squoosh · 12/04/2016 14:21

did we not see that in very first scenes of last week, in the corner shop with the Jack Russell licking something?! How linked?

Had completely forgotten that already!

SuckingEggs · 12/04/2016 14:44

Yes, the remains of the first known victim, um, leaked and the dog went to, er, investigate. And then it LICKED the man's face. URRRRGH.

cherrytree63 · 12/04/2016 15:23

The baker was Owen from Corrie.

eddiemairswife · 12/04/2016 15:37

I found reading the synopsis in The Guardian has helped a bit, but why do they cast similar-looking young men in so many dramas?

Cocolepew · 12/04/2016 18:41

There's too many people in it, its confusing

hairymelonwalton · 12/04/2016 18:48

GrinGrin ive just googled trevor jordache ( thanks hooserice) and hes nothing like him

BennyTheBall · 12/04/2016 18:56

My friend works in TV (I will leave it vague in case she's a MNer, but she has no kids so I doubt it) and she has worked on projects involving Anna Friel more than once.

She says she is the most unpleasant 'celeb' she has ever come across.

She is very mild mannered (my friend) but goes into a complete venomous rant if anyone mentions Anna Friel!

HooseRice · 12/04/2016 19:43

Marcella won't be too much of a stretch for her then Grin

Come to think of it there hasn't been a likeable character so far.

RaeSkywalker · 12/04/2016 19:55

Was thinking about this earlier. Agree with Hoose, none of to characters are likeable. They're asking the audience to concentrate big time because it's so complicated. But you're less likely to care enough to concentrate because you don't like the characters...

HotPotatoOrchestraStalls · 12/04/2016 20:18

Oh Lord...well I've stuck with another episode Confused Good summing up from HelloTreacle Btw Smile

But I'm often finding things like this on tv such hard work these days. Either I can't hear what everyone is saying or there are too many characters (who often look confusingly similar) and an over complicated plot. I'm seriously losing my ability to thrash through some of these multi-part dramas. Will give this a bit longer, it might start to pull together.

One thing that's starting to upset me though is her bloomin' great coat. It's got a hood on it the size of an elephant's Y fronts. I'm surprised the hood doesn't have a speaking part, it dominates so many scenes. And (the mum in me talking here)...why doesn't she ever do it up??

bakeoffcake · 12/04/2016 20:38

I noticed her clothes too, when she's inside she has too many layers on! I was bringing to wonder if that was the reason for her "episodes". She's overheatingGrin

HotPotatoOrchestraStalls · 12/04/2016 20:41

Grin @ Overheating.

SuckingEggs · 13/04/2016 00:02

The Guardian piece is like the notes you get when you're studying English lit. Helpful stuff

lazybones77 · 13/04/2016 03:13

Do we have a link to the guardian piece? Sorry if I've missed it.

Fiderer · 13/04/2016 09:57

I'm finding it all disjointed & odd.

Compared to Line of Duty - heh? Who? What? In a good way, strong writing, actors, plot.

Even Outlander - heh? When? What? Time travel (enjoyable) tosh.

Never came across AF before, would happily zip her up in her daft mammoth coat right to the top of her head.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2016 13:37

recap e2

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/04/2016 13:40

I'm confused

May need to watch again

So we know grace aka ex gf is dead - head in a bag

We know af went to her house and had a blackout

We know the baker in charge of con is an attacker as got stabbed in shoulder

He does also leave Con alone sometimes tho says he doesn't

Not sure what the gay couple had to do with it - I actually thought one was grace step brother

Porn girl stole the jewellery off one of the people she slept with

Did we see him? Was he white? Is he the killer?
