Anyone else think this looks good?

OP posts:

So many things were a waste of time. The epilepsy was pointless, the journalist best friend didn't do anything, the killing of the police woman and all the politicians involvement wasn't explained. I agree the mother was annoying and sanctimonious, especially as she knew who her son was all along. And her sing was atrocious.

So glad I'm not the only one confused by the ending. Or indeed most of it.

Night manager was far better.

Now, when's Poldark back???

hollyisalovelyname · 15/05/2016 22:36

What happened in the first 30 minutes of tonights episode please.

TheNIghtManagersWife · 15/05/2016 22:39

Yes! The plot line with the journo best friend was rubbish and didn't lead anywhere. The colleague she was chatting to was crap at following Nick as well. That whole plot line was seemed like it could be going somewhere and then fizzled out completely.

The line about 'going big' really annoyed me. Wtf was Rudy talking in riddles about going big? Why not just say what he wanted to properly now he is better?

And how exactly did he get so much better after nearly dying on death row? He seemed to be in great shape but sitting in a wheelchair rather than fighting for his life emotionally or physically.

And I love Adrian Lester. He is the only reason I saw this through.

Maya's daughters were far to old to be playing teenage (I assume) children and had zero chemistry with their on screen parents. The boy was much better.

Arkwright · 15/05/2016 22:44

What a load of crap. Six hours of my life down the drain and I still don't have a clue what went on.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 15/05/2016 22:50

Well, at least Nick wrote something.

Wallander next, eh?
The last ones are sad though. But good, nor like this nonsense.

member · 15/05/2016 23:08

What a crock. - took a while to get into then episodes 4 & 5 seemed to pick up then to be left with that!? Never mind Mrs Antwe's singing, what the hell was she even doing there? She's been dobbed in for having knowledge of Micheal's drug dealing, surely she feels betrayed or, even if she wasn't aware, surely Nick &/or Maya would be suspecting that she had knowledge of Micheal murdering the mayor? How did the male our no know to keep out of sight in the clearing? He was told to meet Nick to hear the truth! Yet again plot holes you could drive a double decker through, spurious plot devices and unsatisfactory loose ends at the end of a six parter - when will I learn?

Room101isWhereIUsedToLive · 15/05/2016 23:18

Nick gave instructions to journalist friend (Sonya?) to tell hard nosed journalist to stay in the bushes.
It was very silly in the end. How they expect people to tune into another series? They really do think we are that daft.
I won't be for sure!

Davros · 15/05/2016 23:24

holly sorry none of us are telling you what happened in the first 30 minutes. I'm not sure I can tell you plus I don't want to go back there [shudder]

JingsAndCrivens · 15/05/2016 23:25

The American storyline really jarred and didn't add anything to the show imo. I suppose it was to make it more appealing to American audiences.

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 15/05/2016 23:26

Well, at least Nick wrote something
GrinGrin

member · 15/05/2016 23:38

Well, at least Nick wrote something - true. How did he account for getting paid for 25 years with absolutely nothing being produced Confused

kissedbyamoonbeam · 15/05/2016 23:45

Crap. Was Michael a paedophile? Did the death row guy admit guilt? Where was all the justice she believed in?? What absolute rubbish.

BestIsWest · 16/05/2016 01:48

No idea here either. DH and I just went WTF? And replayed the end twice.

Young boy playing the son was excellent we thought.

BitOutOfPractice · 16/05/2016 02:43

I thought it was disappointing too.

The biggest mystery was why the police / security services / politicians were so invested in covering up Amtwi's death. If we were told, I didn't get it. And we are supposed to believe that the Scottish guy is just let off after shooting a boy when a minister is arrested for...something. Even though he was photographed killing him.

Why was Maya's best friend even involved?

And what was the epilepsy all about?

It was shite really

bakeoffcake · 16/05/2016 07:07

It was almost as if a very vital scene which explained everything had been missed out by the editing team.

emmalimesmom · 16/05/2016 07:15

a few weeks back when maya was in court in america, one of the prison guards said that rudy could speak and he was leering after mayas daughter clem
so does that mean that rudy was lying to maya as well
very disappointing ending i wouldnt watch another series

bakeoffcake · 16/05/2016 07:17

I'd have to watch just to find out if it was all explained.Hmm

I hope the ending of Marcella isn't going to be as disappointing!

Diddlydokey · 16/05/2016 07:18

I'm so glad I'm not alone in my confusion.
Isn't it based upon real life? I might Google later on

hollyisalovelyname · 16/05/2016 07:43

Please tell me what happened in the first 30 minutes of the last episode. I am not in the UK and do not have access to the BBC player Sad.
I am not alone in not having a clue what the whole thing was about. I thought I was just 'thick'.
I wasted six Sunday evenings for that!!!

raisedbyguineapigs · 16/05/2016 08:47

Sorry I'm trying to remember! Something about Maya single handedly abolishing the death penalty in the US in 5 minutes at the Supreme Court because Americans clearly hadn't read their constitution so didn't realise it was in breach of the 8th amendment!Grin

JackandDiane · 16/05/2016 08:52

i gave up on it at about half nine.
Sophie thing is frickin annoying and I just thought ' i dont actually give a toss'

bakeoffcake · 16/05/2016 08:52

I can't remember very much either. It all seems to have blended into a mess of meetings, whispering and confusionGrin

MidMay · 16/05/2016 09:02

Very disappointed and confused about the outcome. So much doesn't add up. Perhaps there's a wider conspiracy going on which will be revealed in another episode but to be frank, I don't think I'd bother to invest now.....
