Woof you're right about the measuring of course. Richtea and orphan are indeed the experts. They are fully qualified kilt measurers too. CJ is still mentally scarred after the kilt measuring in Edinburgh last year. I had to soothe his fevered brow (and other parts) after that trauma.

cjwoofwoof · 16/04/2016 21:03

I'm guessing the measuring also includes bicep and shoulder width, perhaps rich or orph could clarify as its a grey area. Manu often says he enjoys how I can achieve a good grip of the greater bicep within his Shannara cape so I feel I'm qualified for torso girth if the other two want to stick to the bottom half. I suppose you could call it a different ball bag really

Richtea19 · 16/04/2016 21:29

Only really surfaced this afternoon getting over a hangover from last night, I don't recover from a late night so good these days!

pix how did work go today a s did you manage a beer?

woof are you still watching Blindspot? strike back, Sullivan man is looking a bit porky, he needs to get back to special ops to get fit!

icemistOBE · 16/04/2016 22:16

Evening all!

Not been on much past couple days, been
Busy at work and home too.

Wonder if we will get new recruits when series 2 is shown, or will our retired troops venture back?

Really tired tonight. Those little boys wore me out today. Wine was a necessary pick me up once I'd dropped them back home!

cjwoofwoof · 16/04/2016 22:26

Yes Blindspot still on my planner Rich but ditto to Sully looking a bit of a lardarse plus his teeth need a bit of work. No wonder there's no decent bum thrusting like Strike Back. It's all getting a bit humdrum in the romance department with Jane Doe too, mainly I think because in RL I've read they can't stand the sight of each other. Don't know if I can take much more, the series seems to be going on for ever with yet another tattoo being found each week leading to a boring shootout. Holding out for the return of Banshee or Ray Donovan for a new fix of nice Sky Atlantic bum totty now that Sullys gone to seed Sad

ice I reckon there'll be loads of new faces in S2 but I don't mind as long as Boss Mans got his low slung combats on and D'Artagnan's going to be the new Sternface

Ilovelblue · 16/04/2016 22:32

ice do you mean some of our former posters returning or new actors in the programme?

icemistOBE · 17/04/2016 06:19

Former posters ilove Smile

Morning all. Very heavy frost here overnight. Had to make sure all my potatoes were earthed up to protect them! Forcing myself out on my bike shortly as I am out later for a 60th birthday lunch and not sure I will want to do it when I get home again.

What plans do you all have?

pixieg1rl · 17/04/2016 09:20

Long day here ilove. MrP out all day so I'm taking DS to rugby followed by a birthday party and then supermarket in the afternoon. MrP had the cheek to ask me to dig a new bed and do some planting as well. I told him what he could do with that idea...

MaddieMoo82 · 17/04/2016 09:30

Need to dig in some flower beds here aswell pix, hoping to do it later once MrMads has cut the grass but will probs run out of time. Completely off topic for the thread but any got any ideas of how far down you need to dig? We are in a new build so the soil is probably awful.
Food shop and visiting my parents so my dad can put some roof bars on the car ready for holiday in a couple of weeks.
Bike ride sounds lovely ilove enjoy.

Ilovelblue · 17/04/2016 10:20

To do it properly Maddie, you really need to go down to two spades depth. Hard now but worth it later..............

moojangles · 17/04/2016 10:25

Ditto to what ilove said. We're in a new build too and we dug up enough stines and rubble to hard core a car park. On the plus we created soil from scratch! Shaping up to ge a good weather day here, so hoyse work now, gardening later & then work!!
Have a good day everyone

pixieg1rl · 17/04/2016 10:40

Yes, dig deep mads, be prepared to pull out loads of rubble. You can get topsoil if things look a bit sparse

Richtea19 · 17/04/2016 11:38

Gardening for me too. It's too cold to re point the patio but I have loads of weeding to do. I really want to dig out a new bed but need DH help and I have t given him enough warning!!!! So prop just pottering for me.
What do you think about a raised bed for veg? My soil is so clay-ish and difficult to dig.

icemistOBE · 17/04/2016 12:31

Should really take boys out for a walk. Trying to get myself motivated enough to do it! Am being lazy today

Feeling left out over preparations to examine new members...cannot be hands on, sadly, from 11000km away. Was thinking that I could take a supervisory or perhaps quality control role?
Each of you doing your specific task, eg. cuppage, inner leg measurement, bed duties, would video your efforts and email to me. I could act as a TMO, as in Rugby, and perv check over your work. I could pick up any nuances or extras that you might have missed. What do you think, current members?

Ilovelblue · 17/04/2016 18:14

Maddie if you need topsoil as per pixie's advice, order more than you think you'll need as it never goes far enough! Same with gravel or bark chippings.

Ilovelblue · 17/04/2016 18:15

Richtea raised beds are a good idea. Monty Don does those all the time for veg!!

MaddieMoo82 · 17/04/2016 18:48

Thanks ladies for the flower bed advice Thanks had a feeling I was going to have to dig fairly deep. Unfortunately ds has had a high temp all afternoon so have failed miserably in getting outside and making a start. Would love raised beds richtea to try and stop our pooch eating/digging everything I plant but haven't got the time/funds to sort it at the mo.

Ilovelblue · 17/04/2016 19:38

Tell you what Maddie, since you live nearest to BA in RL, if you track him down and get him to your garden, he and I will dig your garden over for you whilst he shouts 'put some bloody effort in'?????

Rhubarb01 · 17/04/2016 20:01

Kuia love the idea of videoing the examinations and sending them for quality control. At this rate we will have our own youtube channel - CJTV anyone??

As for all the gardening advice I have to concur that raised beds are a good idea. We have awful clay soil here and didn't bother trying to dig down but created raised beds for growing vegetables and bought topsoil (It's worth getting better stuff because they fill some of the cheaper stuff with stones etc). The only problem was it wasn't quite deep enough for carrots so when they hit the clay soil below they started to bend into weird shapes! Also years ago when we dug out the ground for a pond (now gone) we found all sorts of rubbish in the garden from when the house was built. If you want evidence of how long stuff takes to biodegrade then you only need to dig around in the garden of a house that's twenty years old or so - dreadful!

Rhubarb01 · 17/04/2016 20:07

DH says if you don't have a deep raised beds for growing carrots you can always grow them in a deep trough instead!

moojangles · 17/04/2016 20:35

Or drainpipes cut to suze!

MaddieMoo82 · 17/04/2016 20:39

Oooh ilove that would be lovely. Got lots of ahem jobs that need doing so once you have finished if I could keep CJ for a few days that would be lovely. I would also hope he would be wearing only his plaid shirt and gardening gloves Wink

The trough idea is fab rhub and MrRhub.
