Maybe it's wendy doing the shooting?

I've just caught up on ep 2 - I also think it's Fran that's the killer. Listen back to the phonecall in ep 1 and I think there's a hint there - 'Now I know why you want me here." "You do?" Fran sounding nervous

When BIL speaks to his sister (the bride) in episode 1 she says that her and groom haven't been together very long and she doesn't know his mates so surely Aussie guy wouldn't have recognised her?

I was thinking had to be Wendy/Reece Shearsmith as he too big a name to not be in it longer. But agree with others that Aussie guy would have known him and wouldn't have reacted like that.

DaphneWhitethigh · 12/03/2016 00:15

The cast list in the Radio Times for tomorrow's episode may or may not give clues so maybe don't look if you have it.

Loving Happy Shopper Hiddleston. I was dreading them giving him a sympathetic back story, but no, he is just a shallow git, but somehow attractive with it. Thought the nipple scene was hilarious, but then I am quite easily pleased.

gincamelbak · 12/03/2016 16:55

Ledge is JJ Feild he is lovelier in Northanger Abbey and Austenland.

I watched both episodes last night and surprised myself by laughing lots. Really enjoyed it.

I was erring on the side of the bride being the shooter. Not sure now!

Cerseirys · 12/03/2016 21:29

I'm thinking its Wendy again now.

Cerseirys · 12/03/2016 21:30

Or wait, is it the fiancee? She wouldn't shoot Ian if she found him in the cellar would she? Argh the suspense!

aleC4 · 12/03/2016 22:05

Dh is convinced the policeman at the end was Wendy! Why? How?

Johnny5isAlive · 12/03/2016 22:05

Please someone explain the ending to me...Blush

OhShutUpThomas · 12/03/2016 22:09

Hmm not sure what I thought of the ending! Why did Ian drive the quad bike over the dam? Why not just go back to the ford he was just at??

OhShutUpThomas · 12/03/2016 22:10

And when the lone police officer just turned up, got the woman and drove off - surely there'd be some kind of major incident??

OhShutUpThomas · 12/03/2016 22:10

Or was the police man in on it!?

Johnny5isAlive · 12/03/2016 22:12

Well yes, the policeman was Reece Shearsmith

Johnny5isAlive · 12/03/2016 22:13

But in still confused. Was it him and Sophie and the stag was tricked too??

OhShutUpThomas · 12/03/2016 22:19

But didn't we see Reece Shearsmith in the pit?

lorelei9 · 12/03/2016 22:38

OhShutup - no, we didn't, I was thinking Reece must be involved because we haven't seen him for ages and now he's the policeman.

I have to be honest, I lost interest in this last episode so drifted in and out, posted on MN...Sophie is the ex? Did she lose money in their venture?

BumblebeeBum · 12/03/2016 22:40

I think...

Sophie and the groom and Wendy were all on it together. When hung up the groom mentioned that Wendy had set up the scheme to make it so that they would make money but needed him alive.

The policeman was Wendy (presumably called by the groom before the brother called the real police). So he took away Sophie and she got away with her part in the killings. And as he is dead, so did the groom, so to speak.

So the brother is the only one who survived the stag and can say what really happened. But I think it was left that there would be no justice for the surviving baddies.

lorelei9 · 12/03/2016 22:45

thanks Bumble

but if they need the groom alive to make the money - she's just killed him.

if she's angry about money, how does this help? Oh wait - he said Wendy set it up - oh...so actually Wendy just made it look as if the groom had to be alive for the scheme to work.

now I'm back to square one - why is Sophie so angry she wants to kill everyone? In cahoots with Wendy? Sorry if being thick.

BumblebeeBum · 12/03/2016 22:52

Sophie is an ex of the groom. She thought that the plan was that she killed the others in the scheme an she and the groom get together and have £25million (presumably the fiance is killed or left?)

Then when th groom was hung up and had a bag on his head he was rude about her, saying she was crazy and he'd never share the money with her. He was basically trying to save his own skin as he thought his finances brother was going to kill him.

Sophie was there and heard him and so was angry that he was disloyal/didn't love her. So she killed him. Not sure if either she can still have the money or she didn't care anyway.

lorelei9 · 12/03/2016 23:06

Thanks Bumble

so could the whole scheme have been Sophie going off with Wendy and the money? It seems a bit odd that she didn't plan to kill her ex all along but then did because he said some grim things - while trying to save himself...

DaphneWhitethigh · 12/03/2016 23:40

No we didn't see Reece Shearsmith in the pit. We saw the torso of a random hunter we'd never seen before which was our signal that Wendy wasn't in fact dead - and the torso was buzzing with flies because he'd been killed some time previously - in retrospect "Wendy's" legs were getting smelly way earlier than they really should have done because they belonged to a corpse killed some time before Wendy's apparent death.

tothesideoftheirlives · 13/03/2016 12:33

I think that the whole scheme was set up by Wendy. He set up the financial scheme so that if one person died the rest would get more money. I felt that the groom was not quite clever enough to have set the whole thing up, but Wendy needed him to get the others together somewhere remote and he needed the groom's ex-army obsessive psychotic ex-girlfriend Sophie to do the killing. Sophie probably thought this was a way to a new life with the groom. The groom thought that Wendy as the policeman would quietly do away with Sophie and the groom and Wendy would be £25 million richer and very far away by the time bodies were found. However, I think that Wendy planned all along for him to be the only survivor, and that Sophie will quietly disappear.

I do wonder how on earth the best man is going to explain everything when he gets to the real police.

tothesideoftheirlives · 13/03/2016 12:38

And the lesson learnt from the programme - if you haven't been invited on a fancy stag or hen weekend, don't get annoyed, think yourself very lucky, because look what might happen Grin

Davros · 13/03/2016 20:29

Wasn't the random bloke in the hole of dead bodies only a top half? Therefore "Wendy's legs" weren't his at all. I'm glad it didn't turn out to be some ridiculous trick with them all turning up alive at the end. The lone copper at the end was definitely Wendy. Presumably the real police were on their way from somewhere further afield

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/03/2016 21:06

Weird ending

So Sophie was the ex gf and killer and she and groom and wendy set it up

Then double crossed the groom and wendy so Sophie pretends to kill wendy and then groom and Sophie would have all the money

But wendy must have been it on it with Sophie hence why came in car as a policeman so they get away Scott free and with 25 million

Poor sister will have a heart broken at first then reliese a lucky escape was had
