This Sunday (17th) at 8pm on BBC1.

I enjoyed the Christmas special - it was good to see Delia back, and I think there's going to be a nice romance with Tom and Barbara Smile

The - it looks like we are going to get a thalidomide story.

And Fred can be Max.......

Pebble21uk · 03/03/2016 21:24

And Tim is perfect for Ralph... I can see him turning into a snitching Nazi!

ppeatfruit · 03/03/2016 21:33

There IS something about Dr. Turner I reckon Blush he's sexy. Yes Shelagh would make a good Maria. I like this thread even more now it's gone SOMish Grin.

Pebble21uk · 03/03/2016 21:51

And I'm casting Violet as that woman at the Music Festival who can't stop bowing!

NeedACleverNN · 03/03/2016 22:00

I've never seen sound of music

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2016 07:56

riviere Do CTM do Children In need? Someone needs to tell them we've written their sketch ! It would be brill. Chummy must be the bowing woman Pebble21 or the housekeeper, like Mel in the Xmas Live SOM.

Clawdy · 04/03/2016 09:36

Need a Liesl though......Cynthia!?

Pebble21uk · 04/03/2016 10:47

I like Chummy for housekeeper (Frau Schmidt)... she needs a more central role!
And I like Cynthia for Liesl, she has the right innocent appeal.
Not sure what we do with the rest of them though?? - There aren't enough roles to go around! We still have Barbara & Tom and Patsy & Delia to fit on somewhere!??

IdaJones · 04/03/2016 11:45

Dr Turner would need to become a bit more masterful to be Capt VT.

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2016 11:54

Clawdy and Pebble Is Liesl as innocent as all that Grin? There are extra parts for nuns and crowds at the ball and concert. Plenty for everyone !

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2016 11:56

Oh gosh I go a bit hot about Chris. Plummer as Capt. Von T. Blush

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 04/03/2016 12:16

Can't Patsy and Delia be Louisa and Brigitta?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/03/2016 12:44

Yes yes pebble! Tim is perfect for Ralf!

If Tom can't be the Captain then maybe he could be Kurt with his falsetto singing voice?

IdaJones · 04/03/2016 13:13

He'd need a shave and a bit of a quiff

Pebble21uk · 04/03/2016 13:25

Yes King! Yes Anne... and they already have the bikes / know how to ride them for the Do Re Mi scene!

IdaJones · 04/03/2016 15:14

All these years I'd thought "Gayorg, that's an odd name." Georg makes a lot more sense. I'm with ppeatfruit on Christopher Plummer as Capt VT making me come over all unnecessary.

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2016 16:01

Grin Ida oh yes, "Were you this much trouble at the abbey?" Grin

IdaJones · 04/03/2016 16:14
Grin

What decade was it that women began to work after marraige and pregnancy? Was the 70s wasn't it, so a bit off yet?

My mother was working part time in the 1960s.

TooAswellAlso · 05/03/2016 19:12

Sorry, should have rephrased that better - I meant specifically nurses and teachers, those that previously had been banned from working when married or mothers
