1965 I think, rivierliedje. I can see it now. Sr Monica Joan would be in trouble for wandering through shots randomly putting things away and dispensing advice. Sr Evangeline would get a bit part as one of the nuns who steals and hides Nazi car parts. Sr Winifred would be in the background when the Von Trapp children come looking for Maria, and she would tut disapprovingly.

Trixie would make an excellent Baroness Schrader...

I'm trying to think who would play Maria?

Mrs Turner would be Maria of course, her lived experience would add to the character.

And there's always a litany of children running around to be the Von trapp children.
If Shelagh's Maria, does that make dr Turner Captain Von Trapp.

I think we've just written next year's children in need sketch for them, don't you.

I think Barbara and Tom would make a better Maria & Gaylord.

Maria has to be Cynthia! Changing her mind about the path she chose......Mrs Turner's already done that,so she's out, as is Barbara who is not a nun,though she is rather prim....oops,forgot about the nose-crushing clinch last week......

Cynthia?! No! Cynthia is all pious and chose to become a nun. No it has to be the Turners, they can drag a few scruffy urchins from around poplar in to be the rest of the children. The Cubs can make the scenery, Timothy will play the piano to accompany the songs and Babs will make the costumes. Patsy is excellent at marching around and blowing a whistle so she can direct. Sister J can be the prompt and pat people on the back when they forget their lines. Sister W will tut and judge and think it rather inappropriate to have a play involving Nazis which might remind people about the war and make them uncomfortable. Nurse Crane will offer her car.
