Here we are again- last year has flown. Soon be WimbledonGrin.

Hope everyone is well- very wet here (NW).

So, Qatar has started, Rafa has won his first round in Doha after a shaky start. So that's already better than last year!
Hopman cup underway.

Here's to an exciting 2016, Olympic year, can anyone stop Djok, who is starting to look unbeatable?

I'm really hoping Rafa can have a better year, and of course there is a wee Murray on the way . (Might not be a fan of Andy, but babies are always good news).

so Verdasco has now been knocked out by Sela.
An hoping I will get stuff done quickly enough today to get back for the Ferrer match.

Lots of Aces in the Lopez/Pella match, and tie breaks.

And Stan is up soon too. Ought to be straightforward, but Stepanek can be a threat on a good day.

Raahh · 21/01/2016 09:14

Well, looks like it's going Stan's way. And the Ferrer/Hewitt match looks easier so far than anticipated. Just got in from the school run- and heard the words 'medical timeout' , so maybe Lleyton is injured?

OP posts:
Raahh · 21/01/2016 10:26

Had to go out- almost expected Ferrer to be done now. Don't think it will be far off, though.

OP posts:
Raahh · 21/01/2016 10:50

Aww, what a lovely ending. I think they are going to swap shirts. Grin.

I love Ferrer, he's a proper gent, so if Lleyton was going to lose to anyone, I'm glad it is him.

Lovely send off for Hewitt there. How sweet was ferrer trying to find the right words.

Raahh · 21/01/2016 11:10

They both looked like they were going to cry!

Hello all, finally made it over :)

Grouchy many congratulations - if it's a boy please will you call him Juan?!!

Drama, MrsV and Mama - so sorry 2016 has got off to a rubbish start. Hopefully things will get better from here on in.

Punk I'm so sorry to hear about your db. What a sad loss for you and your family.

Barbara I have TennisTv. I like it as it shows a lot of the smaller obscure tournaments that never get on 'real' tv.

Did you all note where muddled said upthread she missed me?! Can it really be her or has someone infiltrated her mn account?

Poor old Pot training like mad but don't know when we'll see him back on the circuit.

NoBarbaraGood · 21/01/2016 21:27

How old is Juan delP now, anyway? Is he likely to make a return, really? (Don't mean that to sound unkind. It would be nice to have him back and all, but those injuries seemed pretty serious.)

Yeah again for Jo K.! I watched her match and was cheering her on.

I'm hoping to watch the Fed-Grigor match later on. I have about 50 pounds (by weight, not price) of Lego to sort by shape on DS's behalf. I will be lucky to get through a fraction of it, obviously. (Also obviously, it is not just me doing it.)

Glad to hear Tennis TV is available in the UK.

Who do you think in Kyrgios_Berdych?

Raahh · 22/01/2016 08:27

I think Del Porto is 27- which is still younger than 9 of the current top 10Grin. But it remains to be seen if he could regain form, if he comes back.

Watched parts of the Fed/dimitrov match. Grigor had some chances, but it was very much business as usual.

I have to go to dd1's school assembly, so will miss most of the rest of the morning.

Raahh · 22/01/2016 08:54

Potro, ffs!

OP posts:
Raahh · 22/01/2016 10:19

Well, I have got back from school, Raahhdog is refusing to go out in the rain, so I have put on Berdych/Kyrgios. I'm glad to see Berdych is winning, and Kyrgios is ranting away to himself.

OP posts:
Raahh · 22/01/2016 10:56

Kyrgios is getting on my nerves. He is complaining about the noise- most of which i coming from his own supporters.

I think Keovathong should chuck him out.

OP posts:
Raahh · 22/01/2016 11:00

Er, yes he did ask if Kyrgios wanted to stop. Angry

OP posts:
Raahh · 22/01/2016 11:05

How the hell does he cope in Davis Cup matches? And no fans anywhere are noisier than Aussie ones.

I really, really can't stand him.

I'm sure no-one can tell Grin.

OP posts:
GrouchyKiwi · 22/01/2016 11:28

He seems like an utterly spoiled brat.

I am upset I don't get to watch any of these matches. Sad

Raahh · 22/01/2016 11:33

Well, grouchy- the commentators are annoying me as much as Kyrgios at the moment. They seem to think he is hilarious. I feel really sorry for Berdych- who is handling it well, but he's losing this set 5-1, after all the ranting Nick was doing in the previous set . It has to affect the opponent- that's why he does it, I'm sure- and it's cheating, in my opinion, pure and simple.

OP posts:
magimedi · 22/01/2016 11:47

Kyrgios needs a good slap & be told to grow up.

Tosser.

PS I am none to keen on him. Grin

Raahh · 22/01/2016 11:55

magi quite. The other excuse they make for him is his age- he isn't a child, he's heading for 21. They are doing him no favours.

OP posts:
Raahh · 22/01/2016 12:14

Come on Berdych

I need to walk the dog. Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 22/01/2016 12:14

Yay!!

OP posts:
magimedi · 22/01/2016 12:22

Hooray.

Not watching as don't have the TV for it but I don't find Kyrgios amusing at all.

Mama1980 · 23/01/2016 08:01

Good to see that Konta and Stan both through overnight, Andy up next :)

magimedi · 23/01/2016 08:18

GO! Andy! Tennis

Delighted to see Jo Konta win.

saffronwblue · 23/01/2016 09:08

Andy's father in law has collapsed court side while Murray is playing on another court. Very alarming.
