I loved Cold Feet. I thought it was brilliantly written.
Sex in the city...that was airing just as my marriage was breaking down, so found it a good distraction.
Ally Mcbeal.
Holby city...the first series. Loved that. Never watched it for decades now.

Dallas...the early ones before it got silly.
The waltons...good comforting, home spun family values.
Auf wierdesen pet
Bergerac...I'm sure I could catch up with it somewhere
The vicar of dibley
Oh and the early Robin Hood. The one with Jason Connery in and Clannad singing ' robin...the hooded man' . It all ended rather abruptly as if there was going to be another series and there wasn't.

I'm sure there's more.

And Blossom!

I miss ER, even not as good ER was better than every other programme on telly. The last series was great, I'm sure there were more stories to tell.

chipsandpeas · 18/12/2015 22:56

i agree with the west wing.....would have been good to have at least 1 or 2 more seasons with the new president and seeing how everyone adapted

AnneElliott · 18/12/2015 23:04

Spooks
Ally McBeal

MiracletoCome · 19/12/2015 06:25

Is West wing good, I spotted it on Sky Box sets and thought about watching it.

Lweji · 19/12/2015 11:25

West Wing is bloody good.

I think it ran it's course, which is why I didn't mention it on my list, but I loved it. Great dialogue and stories.

PatriciaJones · 19/12/2015 11:27

Haven't rift yet but Drop the Dead Donkey is available on ch 4 od.

Howaboutthisone · 19/12/2015 12:26

ER every time! I can watch every episode over and over and never tire of them.

To a lesser extent Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Dawsons Creek, Veronica Mars, sex and the city.

I used to like Spin City with Michael J. Fox.

scarlets · 19/12/2015 23:16

I'm on S4 of West Wing currently. Will be gutted when it ends. We're trying to make it last by watching no more than two at a time!

I'll also miss Downton Abbey but feel it's run its course. I'd like to see a prequel with different actors though, focusing on Cora and Robert's arranged marriage in the 1880s.

I really miss Sons of Anarchy, so rewatching the boxsets. Can't believe it -- that show was so much nonsense, and incredibly sad s5 onwards, but sooooo addictive!

DiscoDiva70 · 20/12/2015 03:33

I'm surprised only one other pp has mentioned Only Fools and Horses!

I Loved that series! Smile

Dynasty, the Colby's I think was the spin off too

No one said Brothers and Sisters!
I loved that
Looking was brilliant
The L Word
Private Practice
The Hour excellent

I am gutted that Cuffs has been axed, it is just getting into its stride.

I can't believe Atlantis isn't coming back.

These decisions are odd though I know my tastes aren't mainstream

TheTravellingLemon · 20/12/2015 04:34

I loved Being Human, but it wasn't the same after whatshischops left.

I am currently rewatching The West Wing on Sky Atlantic for the fifth time. Every time I watch it I think how there hasn't been anything as good since. It is my favourite programme of all time.

Also, there will always be a Buffy shaped hole in my life.

There are plenty of other shows I've really enjoyed, but those two are far and away my favourites.

Baconyum · 20/12/2015 05:18

Friends! Even though it ended almost perfectly!

Drop the dead donkey - I agree that it should come back as its perfectly suited to the current political climate but I don't think any of the mainstream TV stations have the guts now not even its birthplace channel 4!

ER - LOVED that show!

Charmed even though last series was a big shit.

Life on mars amazing show!

I too will miss Downtown, again even though it's not as good as the early series.

Desperate housewives - fabulous programme!

“Quantum Leap on the other hand, just one more episode where Sam actually got home” but he didn't want to go home, at least subconsciously. It was actually Al that was the homebird. But yes I'd LOVE this to come back, crush on Scott bakula back then!

Sliders - don't know anyone else irl that watched this but I loved it.

TOTP YES! If only so I can keep up with what music dd is into now!

House of Eliot yes loved this series, so frustrating it was pulled mid season on a weird kinda cliffhanger! So weird to see ‘evie’ totally transformed on CSI.

CSI NY but not CSI Miami which I never really got into. Struggling to get into CSI cyber even though I love Ms arquette normally.

Never got to watch medium properly, I'd love to get that chance, ditto ghost whisperer. A good few mentioned I fancy but have never seen but are on Netflix so will check them out.

MiracletoCome · 20/12/2015 05:24

What a good thread, I have now started West Wing and there are a few more things mentioned here that I will seek out on Boxsets and Netflix. Though 7 series of West Wing will keep me going for a while.
