...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

I am loving this series and this thread! I have no theories even though DH and I pause every 5 minutes to discuss what has just happened. I am a bit confused about the Eurovision winners husband being in barrel......really odd. Sagas mother is dreadful, she has gone all out to screw up Sagas life, I'm pretty sure that this series is going to end with Saga having a breakdown which will be incredibly sad. I also have a feeling that something bad is going to come out about Hans that will screw Saga up further.

sofiahelin · 07/12/2015 21:41

Yes what's the Eurovision husband done to meet that fate Confused
wetabix wow that clip where she changes is amazing. Never seen a smile change someone's face so much!

Hangingbasket14 · 07/12/2015 21:44

There must be more to Eurovisions husband, thought there might be a suggestion that he was homosexual and that maybe the marriage was one of convenience....

QueenChippyOik · 07/12/2015 22:18

yes, may be....... he was very relaxed about her affair! Who could be that calm about it?

AnnieNoMouse · 07/12/2015 22:27

Perhaps CEO's DH tipped off the photographer, using a phone he'd registered to toyboy's name. The murderer knew what he'd done, hence removing his eyes. And yes, I thought the penis in he pants might be a suggestion he is gay.

sofiahelin · 07/12/2015 22:45

Yes he was way too calm it must have been him who tipped the photographer.
I'm not sure about the gay thing, each body part is used in the next victim isn't it? So his eyes will be found with the next murder scene

Hangingbasket14 · 07/12/2015 22:47

Sofia, you're right. Perhaps it was the Eurovision mother who tipped the photographer off, she also seems a bit 'off'

Holstein · 07/12/2015 23:23

Urgh- she is another controlling mother.
The question is, why did Morten Anker have to die?

Holstein · 07/12/2015 23:27

I must say, I loved the joke Freddie played when he told Saga and Henryk that the number was his Swiss bank account. Very droll!

anonacfr · 08/12/2015 11:02

Henrik and Saga have a really sweet (albeit dysfunctional) relationship. I like the way he's understanding and supportive of her.
Love the scene when he invited her out for drinks. 'I don't like beer'. It was hilarious.

Sunnymeg · 08/12/2015 17:32

I think it is Annika the mortician extracting some sort of bizarre revenge to win Claus' approval. She is comfortable around death, would have access to funeral parlour treatments and she is certainly odd enough.

FlagDay · 08/12/2015 18:00

I wondered if CEO's DH was being punished for being a cuckold and not taking on the traditional male breadwinner role.

helzapoppin2 · 08/12/2015 18:15

The tableaux that are created around the bodies look like the work of a team, rather than a single person, because they are so elaborate!
I hope they check the inside of Benjamin's mouth to make sure it's suicide and not murder.

RomComPhooey · 08/12/2015 18:43

I liked that Saga took Henrik's admission about seeing & talking to his (maybe) dead ghost wife and children totally in her stride with barely a shrug: "is she here now? ... Where?" She is very accepting of difference, which is probably very healing for Henrik. As well as her pointing out that the children will have outgrown their clothes if they ever do return. There's something quite refreshing and disarming about her directness because it's not meant unkindly.

ovenchips · 09/12/2015 14:28

I agree Saga is so accepting of difference, which is a rather wonderful trait. I think you could tell her anything about yourself and she would do that sort of downward head nod she does, say "okay" and that would be that.

I do like Saga and Henrik as an unconventional couple. They seem good for each other.

applecatchers36 · 09/12/2015 19:43

There was an article on Saga on the BBC website today

www.bbc.co.uk/news/disability-34995327

Quite interesting on women on the spectrum

BritabroadinAsia · 10/12/2015 00:25

Bit late to the thread and am going to embarrass myself by asking a Basic Bridge question to anyone who speaks Swedish or Danish -the show is bi-lingual, yes?

Do the Swedish characters speak Swedish and the Danish characters speak Danish, and everyone understands each other? Do any characters switch languages? I can hear accents and the way everyone says 'Saga' sounds quite different, but I have been confused about this for all 3 series and whether it affects the power dynamics between the characters?

Agree with pp about the potential for Saga to unravel here - the line about everyone she has ever loved leaving or hurting her was so sad, yet delivered without a trace of self-pity. Such consistently great performances from Sofia Helin. I'm very invested in Henrik, too, and desperately hoping his skeletons are no more sinister than a bit of drug-taking to dull the pain of his missing family.

NoahVale · 10/12/2015 06:36

i read they have a lot of common words and if they dont they speak english, so they speak their own language and understand it

LovelyFriend · 10/12/2015 07:18

I have clients who live in Malmo and Copenhagen. It seems they can all speak in their own language and understand each other perfectly well. Same with the written word.

My Spanish friend is the same with Portuguese - she understands it very well.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 10/12/2015 08:03

Have finally caught up!

I think it's that disgraced policeman (Rasmus or something) setting up the whole thing and it's entirely personal against Saga. Wink That was the same in the first series, wasn't it? All kinds of crusading acts and then it turned out to be completely personal. Or am I remembering the wrong series? Confused

Love the scene with Saga in Henrik's house. She's bracing, isn't she? But in a good way.

I was taken in by Freddie and his Swiss bank account. Grin

Holstein · 10/12/2015 10:56

I really like the dynamic between them, I've warmed to him now. The way he looked at Saga when she told him her mother was dead.

RomComPhooey · 10/12/2015 11:49

Holstein's made me think I should revive the last episode from the deleted folder on our tivo so I can watch for nuance and significant looks, rather than plot.

WeetabixExpress · 10/12/2015 12:27

Languages; Swedish Danish and Norweigian are very similar with some quirky variations on words and very strong accents. So as a Swede I can read and understand Danish and Norweigian but cant write it as the spellings are different and pronounciation is hard. Alot of people in the Malmö/Copenhagen area live in one place and work in the other so speak both and flip effortlessly to the point where you cant tell the difference . (Note all the brilliant staff at CPH airport ) Some Danish accents are very strong and sometimes when you meet a fellow Scandi we give up and speak english. I read that the actors in the bridge sometimes struggled too and didnt always get the dialogue first time. Thank god for subtitles!

BritabroadinAsia · 10/12/2015 13:17

Brilliant - thanks all for explaining the dual language thing.

I've been watching on iTunes from abroad, but am returning back to UK this weekend - what night is it broadcast, and on what channel, please? Am v excited at thought of watching it on a big screen rather than my laptop!

Whatevva · 10/12/2015 13:20
