On Netflix, series 5? Or is it just me?

I'm watching them at the moment but I'm only up to series 2, loving it though.

Me I love once upon a time! Really loved Sunday nights with Merida and her dad not ashamed to admit I shed a tear

Oh yes tribpot, Dark Willow was awesome, but she was truly dark...Emma still has her good side.

I probably shouldn't have watched the next two last night...can't say anything here without spoiling it lol.

I dont like Dark Emmas hair, she looks like she has been dipped in a tub of talc

I've just finished season 4 and am saving season 5 for when we get back from our holiday in a couple of weeks.

I don't like the idea of Dark Emma, though it will be interesting to see where they go with it.

I've always found the Charmings intensely irritating. But Charming himself looked rather good with his eye makeup at the end of season 4.

Perhaps we should be grateful they avoided the stereotype of heroines going brunette when they become Dark, like Dark Willow Grin I notice Rumple's hair didn't change colour during his dark and non-dark periods.

I really liked Snow in the flashbacks when she was being a kick arse heroine and telling Charming where to go. Perhaps not surprisingly they seem to have run out of back story from the days before the exile in Storybrooke.

I'm on Series 3. Finally got past the Pan storyline (thankfully) and Regina's sister has just turned up. Go through phases of watching a few episodes then leaving it for a while. Really need to catch up properly.

Tribot I agree, Dark Willow and Illyria would kick Dark Emma's butt.

I watch on Fridays, so I'll avoid this thread until then.

I cried today watching both episodes

I hate Emma's monotone voice. It's like she's struggling to speak.

Hook being the new dark one... this could be fun!

I'm all caught up. So many new questions...

I quite enjoyed the reveal in the first of the two parter, and the cliffhanger it left us with - I do love me some Captain Swan angst/romance, but then I felt a little bit let down by the second part. I think it's because it felt like a two-for-one deal; if we'd had a week where it was just the second episode then I would have really enjoyed it, as I love Ruby, and it was good to see things happening away from the main players, it was just that, being hot on the heels of the big cliffhanger I was distracted by the whole Dark Ones thing and wanted to get back to that rather than gallivanting with Merida.

I've just had a quick check on Wiki, and it looks like we're not getting an episode next week (pesky Thanksgiving) but there's two more to come after then, Nov 29th and Dec 6th. Presumably we Netflixers will get them the following Wednesdays, and that's when either the Dark One or the Arthur storyline will be wrapped up (or both) and then it'll return in March next year with the next part. I've seen a casting announcement online telling me of two new characters to come, which sounds interesting, but as we're keeping to the Netflix schedule on here, shall keep it to myself.

Captain I don't think that there's any need to keep it to yourself as Netflix is only a couple of days behind, so it's not like you will be revealing a massive spoiler or anything.

I don't know when these new characters will appear - I just know that x and y have been cast in the roles of a and b - so it's potentially a spoiler for something that'll happen in the second half of this season, which I figured not everyone here would want to know about. I'm on the Netflix timetable - no early viewings for me!

Can you pm me the new characters?

I was quite impressed with Caroline Morahans Scottish accent too. Have to say loved 1-4 but not loving 5. Too many time jumps are confusing me .

I used to watch, but it got crappy very quickly (IMO). I haven't watched the Dark Emma scenes - but it's okay, I know how it will end - either Henry related, or Crappy Pirate True Loves Kiss related.

Something I really enjoyed in the last season was Ursula warning Rumple that he'd better not have taken the last instant noodles, and then they and Cruella using a junk food drive through. That was funny, and it was the kind of thing I enjoyed about the show.

I feel like it went wrong when Neil was killed off. Why did that happen? There is that turgid 'love story' between Emma and Hook, boring Charming and Snow. The dull things lumber on endlessly and interesting characters show up just to get murdered an episode later. It's so frustrating! And the green screen is terrible. So often they are obviously standing on a sound stage with nothing around them, it's about as high tech as Knightmare - and when was that on, early 90s?

Hmm, I didn't know this rant was in me Grin

All caught up - I must say I am somewhat confused as I've been knitting at the same time and only half paying attention. My glaring anachronism first - Merlin finds the Holy Grail 1000 years before Arthur. Only the Arthur story is set in the 4th or 5th century AD and the grail, if indeed it is meant to be the chalice from the Last Supper, therefore can't be 1000 years old.

No I must go and find a synopsis to read, it's too tedious to watch again to figure out what happened.

Rinceoir · 19/11/2015 18:27

Oh I can't follow the timelines at all. Perhaps time moves differently in the enchanted forest. Agree with jeannie, I thought Caroline Morahan did very well. Doesn't seem that long since she was on RTE constantly! So has Merlin lost his magic now or just his darkness?

Report
tribpot · 19/11/2015 19:11

Found a synopsis, couldn't be arsed reading that either. Have we seen the bit where everyone loses their memory? I certainly feel like I've lost mine.
