I am just heading off to Exeter for a couple of days so between us we'll have all bases covered for a sighting! Canada, Devon and London (is it you rich who's in London?)

KellyHb · 09/09/2015 10:23

Morning all.

Wow dizzy very envious. By all accounts he should be in Exeter about now.

Very hot just coming back in from gym so I'll rewatch LCL for any bits I didn't watch properly before I pick up the boys in an hour or so. Shame there wasnt more QS. Hmm

KellyHb · 09/09/2015 10:29

Just watched the end of Sunday's Antiques Roadshow and someone's been quoted ??60k for a clock they've brought in! Back of the net Grin

Ilovelblue · 09/09/2015 12:51

Have to tell you this ladies. We had a meeting this morning where it was suggested we need to reduce cars on site. We are near a railway station so one suggestion was to offer financial incentives to use the train but the other one was ...... car share! Now if I could share with somebody like Lola's CJ in her ff, I would be up for that! Sadly, having done a quick mental trawl around the building, I know there is nobody who fits that bill. :(

Nickel45 · 09/09/2015 15:02

Wouldn't that be brill ilove .... hmm ;)

I'm having a really boring day, in work. Yawn!!!

pixieg1rl · 09/09/2015 15:10

Highlight of the day so far is having my phone (which I tend to stuff down my bra when I don't have pockets) shouting 'stay focused, stay alert, stay alive' at me at school pick up. It was on vibrate too Wink

KellyHb · 09/09/2015 16:38

I like your inventive use of where to store your phone pix. I wish I had CJ's stern voice to keep my twins in line today!

When I picked up the boys from nursery, the teacher said they had been fighting outside with each other over a toy. So they had to be separated I guess and brought into the class. Then when I was picking DD up, the school were late opening the gate parents use to collect their kids and that was just sufficient time for boys to lie on floor and not get up/push each other/try and run around. Lots of pity stares from parents as usual and I thought 'right, one of you dare say something' and one did and came out with a corker 'they look wild'. I thought right, that's it.... Angry

MaddieMoo82 · 09/09/2015 17:34

Ooh had a rubbish 24hrs... The man child is having some problems with his side of the family and rather than deal with it he has spent most of it in the pub burying his head in the sand and 20ish pints it's days like these I need CJ but he's probably at 20,000 feet joining ice in the mile high club Grin
kelly that sounds like hard work... I guess we need to find a 60k clock somewhere in our houses which will help!!
dizzy did you locate BA? If you did I'm 40 mins drive from Exeter and I'm coming to get him Smile
Feeling guilty by shoving DS his bouncer and plonking him in front in baby TV but needs must whilst I read greenstuffs amazing new story and feel very jealous that I'm not Molly!

Rhubarb01 · 09/09/2015 17:37

Oh Kelly I've been there! Remember dropping eldest DD in Reception class many moons ago and having to drag/carry two screaming brats one under each arm back to the car to go home again with pitying stares from parents all around and feeling reduced to a quivering, fury-addled heap of stress as a result. Sympathies.

Nickel45 · 09/09/2015 18:28

Now having a crap evening. DS is supposed to go on a residential week from school ... He's 8! I put in the initial letter of interest that he didn't want to go. Now had one thanking us for expressing our interest (I know it is a standard letter, but, er, no!) and telling me to pay half the cost by Monday. Oh, and meeting about it is on Tuesday. Aaaaaaagh!!!!, he doesn't want to go (4 nights away from home, he's not managed to stay at a sleep over yet without having to be collected cos he was so upset) and DH has just told me he is away four days that week. Any ideas?!?! I don't want him to go either, but more concerned as he doesn't. Eek!

Nickel45 · 09/09/2015 18:29

It's just being one of those days, isn't it!

Rhubarb01 · 09/09/2015 19:23

Nickel four nights away from home for an eight year old sounds a lot to me especially if he hasn't managed a sleepover yet or goes away without you. My two only had two nights away on their Year 6 Residential trip and they were nearly 12!. If you said he wasn't interested before surely you can just say they've got it wrong and he's not going. Are you concerned he might be the only one who doesn't go because if there are plenty of others not going then I wouldn't worry about saying no. To be honest if you think he'll be unhappy you will feel like that too. Don't know if that helps but that was my initial reaction.

pixieg1rl · 09/09/2015 19:41

I think stick to your he's not going line nickel 4 nights is a long time, especially if he's never even managed one night.

KellyHb · 09/09/2015 20:04

Ditto to what pix said nickel. The school couldn't make your DS go if he didn't want to, I'm sure.

I'm going to give that Suranne Jones drama a watch tonight on BBC1. I think it's on at 9.

Nickel45 · 09/09/2015 20:49

Thank you. I'm trying not to worry about it - I don't mind him being the only one not going, I'm worried that it will be really upsetting for him, and put him off wanting to stay anywhere again! It just seems to harsh sending them off, we aren't allowed any contact or anything. Bit like prison!! I'm not looking forward to it either, and will miss him like mad, but if he was excited about it or even just not dreading it, I would be encouraging him to go. So hard, isn't it. I know he'll be fine, and he will have to get on with it, but it's horrible seeing them so upset :(

Going to watch the Suranne Jones thing too, think it looks really good. And GBBO when the kids have finally settled down.

pixieg1rl · 09/09/2015 21:07

I'm recording the Suranne Jones thing. Should get some writing in tonight, I think I cleared a hump last night

KellyHb · 09/09/2015 22:10

Just matched the Suranne Jones thing. I'm not going to give anything away but I really fancy the hubby in the first couple of scenes. Teeny bit of good QS and nice bum Bertie Carvel. I'll definitely watch it next week.

Yey pix. Does that mean a Christmas proposal from CJ?? Wink

Ilovelblue · 09/09/2015 22:14

Nickel how horrible for you and DS. It does seem like prison and for an 8 year old too. Thinking of you.

Not had a great day at work 'cos I've been dealing with out and out idiots and/or people with delusions of grandeur. I am reminded of a fridge magnet I saw recently "I have one nerve left and you are getting on it".

Just finished watching the Suranne Jones drama. Looks as if it will be good. What does anyone else think? Have I got it right that her husband appears to be a serial philanderer?

Got my suitcase down and everything is ironed so need to pack tomorrow night for Vienna. Shame I can't take CJ with me but no doubt ice is showing him a few Canadian delights by now.

Loving greenstuff's latest - how does she do it?

KellyHb · 09/09/2015 22:24

I think ilove that there's more to it than meets the eye. Suranne Jones I think is a great actress. I wish I had your social life. I'm very envious all the lovely places you go to. Vienna! How long are you going for?

I think today's been one of those days for people getting on other people's nerves. Confused

MaddieMoo82 · 09/09/2015 22:27

Wow Vienna sounds fab ilove hope you have a lovely time.
Recorded both GBBO and the suranne Jones things for tomorrow. Soggy bottoms week on GBBO I think.

Ilovelblue · 09/09/2015 22:27

If you've watched Dr Foster, there's now a thread on here for it! I did have to laugh as somebody has deemed it "utter sh*te". It sort of reminded me of the early postings on our very first OG thread.

I'm in Vienna for 3 nights Kelly. It works out at two full days and roughly half a day on Monday. Thank goodness I'm not in work on Tuesday.
