I've just ordered it kelly.. Grin also lady chatterly is free on Amazon for kindle

pixieg1rl · 06/09/2015 22:43

Interesting dry run (well, not altogether dry ahem) for a couple of weeks time. My laptop battery is officially crap.

Ilovelblue · 06/09/2015 22:51

I think another novel the BBC is serialising soon is The Go Between by L P Hartley. Made me shudder when I read they were doing this - it was one I studied for A level and have never once picked up since. I think I can recall the story - just about.

Off to bed shortly as I'm tired. It was a pleasant 50th birthday lunch. I don't know how my friend survives on the amount she eats. We were full but not stuffed and she said she wouldn't be eating again today. For tea, I had my own vegetable soup, crackers, yoghurt and a banana.....

KellyHb · 06/09/2015 22:51

Yip. It'll be crazy then. Messages flying all over the place.

icemistOBE · 06/09/2015 22:54

I think, judging from the past 2 nights watch-alongs we will definitely fly through the threads. We might be better having one for the watch-along only?

Turned over, and Notting Hill on ... posh boy, floppy hair, will do I suppose Wink

Ilovelblue · 06/09/2015 22:55

ice and pixie have you had many responses to your invitations to the watch along?

Nickel45 · 06/09/2015 22:58

I think I would prefer not to have a separate thread, tbh, just cos I like looking back through, and find it easier all in one place (I know, complete techno-idiot!)! Also, if old posters (in the nicest sense) are just coming bck to join in, and then have to re-find us, might be more complicated. Can't we just have the next thread set up ready to go, incase we fill one?

pixieg1rl · 06/09/2015 22:59

Oh god, not The Gobetween. I read that about 20 years ago on the basis of a recommendation of a bloke I fancied. I'm all for doing stupid things to get the man, but that was above and beyond (and the bloke, while lovely wasn't for me)

Ilovelblue · 06/09/2015 23:02

Yes, agree with you there Nickel. All too complicated for me as well.

pixieg1rl · 06/09/2015 23:04

I've had 4 or 5 replies saying they're going to rejoin us for the watch a long ilove

KellyHb · 06/09/2015 23:07

Yeah ice maybe it might be easier as part of the same thread. And just have the new one set up in case we fill the previous one quickly?

Nickel45 · 06/09/2015 23:07

That's brill, pix ... any news from SPO ... hope he is inspired to do a watch-along zombie special (hint, hint!!) :)

icemistOBE · 07/09/2015 00:14

Cool. Only takes a few mins to set up new thread if need be Grin
Not heard from spo Sad

Missed the party altogether ladies due to a combination of needing to do a pile of ironing so not able to type and watch and not being particularly keen on DH Lawrence and saw the previous BBC version - yes I also had to study The Rainbow for A Level leading to the DH Lawrence dislike plus I did hear that this version was a bit tame (however have read the thread through and feel I have experienced all the highlights).

I ended up catching up on a brilliant French drama on More 4 called Resistance (WWII & the title says it all) and have cried buckets after episode 3. Three more episodes to go but they haven't aired yet. Time to go to bed and prepare for another rubbish Monday if all the previous ones have been anything to go by!! Goodnight.

Dizzydots · 07/09/2015 07:23

Morning :) Lovely sunny Monday here. Missed the party last night was with you in spirit but watching with DD and DS and didn't think I could cope with typing too plus it would have aroused their suspicion. Just read through your musings, very entertaining, and wondering how on earth I'm going to keep up and type at the same time when it comes to OG. Wouldn't want to miss any of those 'looks'! Seems pre-season training is working well for some of you :)

icemistOBE · 07/09/2015 07:27

Morning,

Brrrr you can tell its autumn it's s bit chilly this morning!

Enjoyed Lady C last night. I'd never read the book so wasn't sure if the BBC ending was right or not.

Morning all.

Cloudy here. Think it might rain. Wasn't there supposed to be a high somewhere today in the UK??

After I watched LCL last night, I watched a couple of clips of the Sean Bean version from 1995 and it was a bit steamier! Still loved this years version-especially Mellors. Glad there was a happy ending! I'd never read the book either ice.

I've recorded Resistance rhu to watch later in the week. It was pick of the day when the first episode aired. Havent watched any yet.

Onlygirljen · 07/09/2015 08:04

I still didn't get past the first half hour of LCL last night, the child tortured me! If he does that in 2 weeks he's just going to be forced to watch along. Need to find a spare hour tonight to watch the rest or else today when I make him watch peppa pig on the iPad, by the sounds of things it was pretty good? I enjoyed what I saw anyway. RM did well to lose his Scottish accent although gutted I didn't get to the losing his shirt part yet

Dizzydots · 07/09/2015 08:20

Def worth finding that hour jen but don't raise your QS hopes too high.

MaddieMoo82 · 07/09/2015 09:09

Morning all. Just spent a lovely bit of the morning catching up on a young Mr Aldridge on Lewis. Lovely Smile

Ilovelblue · 07/09/2015 09:11

Jen your QS was/is better!

pixieg1rl · 07/09/2015 09:17

Sean Ward was on breakfast TV this morning. Mostly Corrie chat. Didn't mention Our Girl at all (boo), but he was very yummy.

Right, day one of a five day working week for me Sad.

cjwoofwoof · 07/09/2015 09:21

Humph! Ended up recording LCL as DH wanted to watch second ep of Jimmy Rose drama on ITV Angry The advantage is I now know exactly where to ff to thanks to your postings last night so every cloud...

cjwoofwoof · 07/09/2015 09:24

Good luck with the full working week pix . Think they're killing Calum off in Corrie unfortunately, as he's very easy on the eye indeed although needs some Manu muscles in certain places
