I can't stand it.

FFS Paul, they're not splitting the fucking atom.

wankerchief · 19/08/2015 20:55

I think dorrets going Sad

PurpleDaisies · 19/08/2015 20:56

Dorret's definitely in trouble here...

GrouchyKiwi · 19/08/2015 20:56

It has to be Dorret, doesn't it?

Emochild · 19/08/2015 20:56

She's been consistently poor

wankerchief · 19/08/2015 20:57

Aww

Roussette · 19/08/2015 20:58

That's a shame but fair I think. She shouldnt have winged it

chaiselounger · 19/08/2015 20:58

Knew it was dorret.
Star baker again? Well done.
Lion was fab.

PurpleDaisies · 19/08/2015 20:58

I liked her but I think it was the right decision.

NoelHeadbands · 19/08/2015 20:59

Fair decision

She wasn't very good really

GrouchyKiwi · 19/08/2015 21:00

Oooh, desserts.

Bread week is usually my favourite but that was a little flat for me.

firefly78 · 19/08/2015 21:09

we knew it was dorrett. mary berry let slip on Chris Evans this morning!

vikingpooboat · 19/08/2015 21:28

The lion was amazing!

Moln · 19/08/2015 21:38

Woo hoo!! I finally found you

Just read through all 26 pages. I feel the need to confess before I go further that I've never eaten Black Forest gateau, despite have worked in a cake shop in the 90s.

Anyway there's quite a few this year I like. Flora reminds me of Martha but I like Martha a lot more and Flora does seem much older than her years.

Liked Dorret so sad to see her go but she really wasn't up to it.

Have drunk a few gin and tonics for Mary so forgive anything that makes no sense.

ppeatfruit · 20/08/2015 10:43

Morning all, nice to be here at all!! I got really stabby with the use of a drum beat last night, I nearly turned off. It's not effing masterchef which is why I watch, and usually enjoy it, fgs. Grin

ppeatfruit · 20/08/2015 10:45

I reckon they kept Dorret on a week after she was ready to go actually. The standard is VERY high this series.

macnab · 20/08/2015 13:14

Wow I was blown away with the standard last night. When I saw Prison Paul's drawing and heard him describe it, I was just waiting to snort at the result, even more so when I saw him put it in the oven. But my god he created a masterpiece! And then it apparently tasted amazing too.

As a person upthread said, I felt every single person's bake was excellent

I am glad Dorret went, I haven't liked her and couldn't understand why she didn't practice at all for the showstopper! Like she didn't even offer an excuse, it was like she just wasn't arsed. And when Mary said "oh so you're winging it" I knew she'd be going (before Paul made his snarky "no way is that 5 hours of work" comment!)

I love Ian and Nadyia and Tamal and the Victoria Wood lady. Can't warm to Flora at all sorry and am a wee bit scared of Ugne who looks like she'd flatten me if I said I didn't like truffle oil in my bread!!

ppeatfruit · 20/08/2015 14:09

Prison Paul has warmed up somewhat as someone upthread said. It looked like a Lion King lion didn't it macnab?

Flora seems old beyond her years. I like Nadiya and Tamal too, not sure about VW lady. The guy who won BB twice seems nice.

OriKumi · 20/08/2015 14:53

I'm sooo making baguettes this weekend

ppeatfruit · 20/08/2015 16:50

They didn't make real french baguettes because the fr. baker I know lets his rise overnight in cool fridges. So slowly. Try it OriKumi Grin

ppeatfruit · 20/08/2015 16:52

They also use different flour. I think it's hard flour rather than soft for the chewy texture.

carabos · 20/08/2015 17:03

Agree about Dorret. As soon as she said she hadn't practiced I thought "You're gone". Definitely came across like she CBA - not only didn't practice but didn't put the work in on the day either. She seemed slightly surprised to get the elbow too - obviously not on the same page as everyone else. Maybe she thought meh, bread, how hard can it be?

The standard is really high and there aren't any no-hopers. It will come down to mistakes each week I reckon. Love Sandy Grin.

toldmywrath · 20/08/2015 18:57

Yes I agree that Little Dorret was the right one to go-she had a "can't be arsed" attitude last night.

Moln · 20/08/2015 19:27

Ooh I missed the bit where she said she didn't practice. That was daft of her!!!

Supercosmicrays · 21/08/2015 15:19

Still love Nadiya but she's not done well in the technical challenges which doesn't bode well Sad

Can't warm to Ian, don't know why maybe he'll grow on me

Hope to see more of Sandy I'm really liking her

And Alvin is so sweet, Mel & Sue helping him carry his monster showstopper bake was so funny Grin
