This series' Norman.

NoelHeadbands · 12/08/2015 21:02

I thought Marie was a bit wet this week

Roussette · 12/08/2015 21:02

Sod it. Took a phone call and missed the box bit.

Paul had definitely taken against Marie

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 12/08/2015 21:02

I agree Noel but I hate the criers anyway

RebootYourEngine · 12/08/2015 21:03

I dont think paul liked marie. Shocked that she went home.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 12/08/2015 21:07

I'm on holiday next week and the week after so I'll miss bread week and whatever follows. They're on planner so I'll catch up before I come back to this thread.

Roussette · 12/08/2015 21:15

Right... I've caught up box bit, yes PaulH did seem to be a bit snippy with Marie. I think a couple of others were lucky getting through.

Throwing hat into the ring. Love Nadiya, Victoria Wood and have a soft spot for Dorret although I think she isn't long for this game. Man who cried is sweet. I am indifferent to rest, including Ugne's hair.

BatmanLovesMenInEyeliner · 12/08/2015 21:34

I love Nadiya and Tamal.

Dislike Prison Paul and the One Who Isn't Mat.

The rest... meh. I may shunt Alvin on to 'Love' list if he is lucky and doesn't cry next week says the hypocrite who cries at the drop of a hat

Bunbaker · 12/08/2015 21:43

There is another actress who looks like Sandy, but I can't remember her name.

FatherHenderson · 12/08/2015 22:12

I think Dorrett is really smug

BatmanLovesMenInEyeliner · 12/08/2015 22:16

I'm not sure about smug... this came up last year too. It's hard to tell when they actually had their reactions compared to when the editors put the smug shots in. You have to concentrate really hard to not let yourself believe that all you see is true - I find myself getting massively outraged by something (Baked Alaskagate, I'm looking at you) and finding the timeline all skew whiff...

GetTheFudgeOutOfRodge · 12/08/2015 22:42

Really shocked at Marie going, I thought she was quite sweet. Agree that she was this series Norman.

Prison Paul makes me feel very uncomfortable. He's the only one I don't like.
I can see him throwing a bingate style tantrum if something big went wrong and the throw the perp in SHU

Icimoi · 12/08/2015 22:50

Marie did have three bad rounds, she had to be in the frame to go. At least her going has saved us from several weeks of Daily Mail digs about her being supposedly professional.

I find Sandy hilarious. When she was talking about her templates made by her friend, I could just see her lapsing into Victoria Wood mode, putting on a woolly hat and talking about her friend Kimberleh.

I don't really see what's so dreadful about using frog cutters. If you need frog shapes, why reinvent the wheel?

SheHasAWildHeart · 12/08/2015 22:54

Doritos needs to go.

Supercosmicrays · 12/08/2015 22:56

Bunbaker: is it Lesley Sharp who was in that detective thing that was like Cagney & Lacey only in the UK?
Love Nadiya & Sandy
Shocked Marie went, is that a first, star baker one week, out following week?
Think Dorret should have gone really

Bunbaker · 12/08/2015 23:06

No, not Lesley Sharp. The actress I am thinking of always looks like she is thinking of a private joke or has just eaten a delicious cake.

HoneyDragon · 12/08/2015 23:44

Sandy looks like Caroline Quentin

HattieA · 13/08/2015 00:43

I'm wondering why Mel's name is bigger than Sue's in the credits? Surely they are equally lovely and funny!!

ppeatfruit · 13/08/2015 09:13

My mum used to make biscotti but she called them mandelbrot, they're quite a common European thing. I liked the look of the chocolate ones. Those flat catherine wheel type biscuits were funny and omg the amount of butter in them Shock I bet they tasted nice , well done Dorret, but she seems too stressed to stand it much longer.

I quite liked the idea of the edible box of biscuits but it was quite an advanced concept for week 2. I LOVE macarons though.

Icimoi · 13/08/2015 09:17

I'm not keen on rounds where they build things with biscuits - it seems to have more to do with construction and artistic skills rather than bakery, and how many people ever actually make biscuit constructions in RL? At least keeping it to a box which they also had to put biscuits in seemed a bit more realistic.

ppeatfruit · 13/08/2015 09:26

Yes I agree Icimoi Some of them looked very pretty, not sure about Ugne's though Grin

Roussette · 13/08/2015 09:32

I agree... I don't like rounds either that involve such massive construction projects, and then PaulH breaks off a chunk and destroys it!

I didn't like this round also because I felt that when Marie laughed and joked with PH about eating the biscuit he did not take it well and from that moment on her card was marked, I felt he was gunning for her. She didn't have a great 3 rounds but whatshisname never even managed to build a box! Surely in the showstopper challenge that is a big no no.

Sandy/Helen Lederer??
Agree Rousette Marie's flirty/matey banter didn't go down well at all Wink
