Just saw a clip of this on Facebook and it says it's showing from 23rd August. Does anyone know if we can see in here? Need a zombie fix til TWD comes back!

I think the writers have got a great opportunity to show us how it all began. Maybe even give some clues about what caused it. And we get to see the guys in this story working out things for the first time - such as needing to stab them in the head to really kill them. I wonder if they will even work some things out that Rick and co haven't. Remember Michonne is the only one who discovered how to walk safely among the walkers. Maybe there are other tricks like that to be discovered. I wonder what they will call the walkers.

Clearly I have been pondering on it....Grin

Just watched the second episode, I'm a bit confused!

There is a virus going round which is killing people, I thought in The Walking Dead world everyone technically had a virus which turns them when they die but they aren't sick to start with unless they get bitten? All of the sick people in the city can't have been bitten because surely then more people would know whats going on?

Why have there been no televised warnings from the government? At the end there was a radio broadcast telling people to stay inside but at this point the police were stopping people leaving the city and there was mass violence and looting etc. With bird flu and swine flu there was loads of stuff on the news. Anyone else think it was a bit odd and quick? There was that policeman stockpiling water so are we to assume the government/police are just looking after themselves?

I don't think anyone seems quite freaked out enough by what they've seen!!

Looking forward to seeing how it develops though.

Putting my bank holiday to good use by watching this online,loving it so far. Like that they havent just dived straight in with the apocolypse,lets face it when the zombie apocolypse does happen it will take ages to get going and no one will have a clue until it's too late.

I've also thought about how i'll survive and came to the conclusion i'm going down in the first wave of walkers,apologies if I eat any of you Grin

Just watched episode 2. I think the virus is a type of flu that people were already aware of...hence so many parents were keeping their children off school. Completely separate from the walker virus, but just happens to be killing people, who are then reanimated.

There being 2 viruses would kind of support the theory that the apocalypse was a result of a biological weapon: infect everyone with the reanimation virus, then release a particularly contagious and deadly form of flu to accelerate the chaos.

Where warnings are concerned, I can only assume the lack of them is a bit of a combination of not really being sure what's happening yet, our characters not listening to much radio or watching much TV, and the authorities looking out for number 1 and stocking up for themselves before they let others know to do the same.

Glad to see they're not giving fresh walkers soft skulls...once in TWD, a fairly fresh walker (IIRC) had its head stomped on or similar and it caved right away. Annoyed me no end.

Episode 2 is a lot more interesting. I am wondering why the the zombie at the end of ep 1 was slow tjough? I thought fresh zombies could run (as in TWD esp the episode where Shane and Otis go to get medical supplies)?

I don't think the zombies in that episode were running...Just Shane was injured and Otis was really big and out of breath.

I meant it's so long since I've seen all the Walking Dead gore, that it's hard to watch now.

I didn't think there was another virus - I think everyone thinks it's a virus but actually they're getting sick from walker-bites? I know they've talked about it but there's been no one who actually just has the flu, they're all bitten.

I did notice that Dont and I've seen a couple of reviews criticising it too. Hopefully it's just mindlessness. I think as they've been criticised for it in TWD they should probably redress the balance a bit.

According to my sky+ app I have amc on channel 192.
Episode 1 is on tonight, and 2 is tomorrow I think. I haven't been able to check if we receive it or not though as the dcs are hogging the remote. Hmm
