Thank God for that!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 14:38

whoop!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 14:40

Can't wait to see how rude he is in the press conference, like the other day.

Why are they still going on about Kyrgios, when Gasquet has won?

spookyskeleton · 06/07/2015 14:41

I have to go out at 3 and won't be back till just before 5...I am going to miss this entire match aren't I?? Ffs, I have one day off in the week and it must be the one time Murray is not last on court so it is on in the evening Angry

Raahh · 06/07/2015 14:41

See 10 double faults.

Inverdale is an idiot.

I don't think he will mature. Some players don'tWink

purpleprincess · 06/07/2015 14:42

Yay glad that over......Oh btw DH last night announced he's going to invite MIL over for lunch...on Sunday!! I'm not happy but I guess that is selfish...she will be 91 the next day and DH away following weekend and then we're on holiday so not much I can do! I've said he will have to sort lunch out and we will have to be early. At least no kyrgios in the final!

As usual this match is about nick and not the fact that Gasquet actually won!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 14:45

oh purple- difficult one.

Bet you are annoyed by the delay to Wimbledon by a week now!

Twice now, dh has invited Bil over for a bbq on RG finals day. I love BIL, a d at least this year Nadal wasn't in it, but even so!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 14:47

looks like it won't be long before Stan is on.

Is absolutely chucking it down here. Ds went to school on his bike, he won't be happyGrin

HenriettaTurkey · 06/07/2015 14:49

I tend not to dislike players - just playing style (ace, ace, ace) or some such. Last year I really loved watching Kyrgios play. He was the 100+ ranked teenager who was donating money to charity for every ace he hit.

This year, however, he's believing his own hype and seems to have turned into Charlie Sheen #winning.

I feel guilty for being somewhat pleased that he went out on a double fault.

And thrilled we get to see more Gasquet!!

On the other hand, I remember reading about youngsters and adolescents who, while their brains are still developing can be so affected by a stressful situation that blood temporarily doesn't flow to a certain area of the brain and they have to struggle to regulate their behaviour. Then afterwards they barely remember what happened.

I would like to be charitable and think that this is what is happening here - but I expect that's me just being soft!

spookyskeleton · 06/07/2015 14:51

raaah I live in the NW too and it is chucking it down here (just in time for the school run of course!) Just had a text from school asking parents to ensure the kids take a coat with them...oops Blush

spookyskeleton · 06/07/2015 14:52

purple I feel your pain. DS2 has a party to go to at half 3 on Sunday - told DH that he might have to take him depending on who is in the final etc. He is not happy as he hates children's parties Grin

HenriettaTurkey · 06/07/2015 14:54

Also, the difference to me between Kyrgios and other 'emotional' players, is that when they get frustrated they take it out on their racquet or themselves; he tries to bully the officials. Not cool.

Raahh · 06/07/2015 14:57

spooky yes- I had to take a coat at lunchtime as dd2 refused to take a coat to nursery.

Fortunately, dd1 has an afterschool club, so I'm hoping it has stopped before 4.30.

we seem to be getting crossed commentary Confused

LeBearPolar · 06/07/2015 14:59

Henrietta - isn't Kyrgios 20?! Hardly an adolescent. Djokovic turned pro at the age of 16, Rafa at 15 yet I don't recall the same on-court antics from them as they hit the big time. In fact, Rafa was a year younger than Kyrgios when he won the French for the first time.

purpleprincess · 06/07/2015 15:02

Hmmm well we will see about Sunday....I wasn't that bothered about last years final but then it turned out to be a brilliant match and iir the dinner was a bit overdone...

Yay Stan is on...not really seen any of his matches at Wimbledon this year. Allez Stan although he could cheer up a bit.....Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 06/07/2015 15:03

Afternoon all.

Sounds like you had a great time, purple.

Very glad Gasquet won.

Come on Andy!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 15:03

he is 20- he isn't a child. And whilst people make excuses for him he will believe the hype, and carry on as he is.

HenriettaTurkey · 06/07/2015 15:04

He is, and you're right.

I'm just a bit too Pollyanna for my own good sometimes and like to believe most people are fundamentally good. It's very disappointing when they're just spoilt brats.

HenriettaTurkey · 06/07/2015 15:05

Get Martina to be his coach: she wouldn't take his shit.

Raahh · 06/07/2015 15:05
Grin sadly, some people are just spoilt brats.
Raahh · 06/07/2015 15:08

He definitely needs taking in hand. Though I don't really care if ever wins another match, tbh. Players can be brilliant to watch, and have great games- without being 'characters'. And yes, Connors, Nastase, Mac and others were all hot headed, but it didn't define their every match. And they had results to back up the arrogance.

purpleprincess · 06/07/2015 15:09

While Stan and David are warming up watch this....

even if you don't like Murray but you like puppies

Raahh · 06/07/2015 15:10

ooh, they are showing the Jankovic match. , at yonic.

But I want to watch Stan. And my red button is messing about.

Raahh · 06/07/2015 15:11
Grin

but bit rubbish not knowing what breed they are!Grin

Raahh · 06/07/2015 15:20
