Must have been as if the Zombie apocalypse was about to arrive & that was yr last possible shag - even so I would have resisted!

Raahh · 05/07/2015 22:44

GrinGrin

The80sweregreat · 06/07/2015 05:51

I could take or leave Boris really, the name is apt though as Boris Johnson is a bit of ladies man too I think?!!
the cupboard antics were funny - although in the 80s i didnt follow Wimbledon that much ( young and going out a lot!) mum kept me up to date, she wasn't keen on him either. to win at 17 was an achievement though.

someone I don't hear mentioned much is Sampras, any fans out there?
I don't like smuggy smug Feds, never have done. looks the sort to look down their nose and those adverts were terrible too. his wife looks high maintenance.
anyway, I am going on holiday soon, so hope to find a bar somewhere to watch the final, if I can!
I hope Stan or someone you all like wins..
purple , your day out was amazing, lucky thing! glad it went well.
bye all, enjoy the tennis.

Raahh · 06/07/2015 06:27

I saw Sampras play a few times- he might have been good, but he was terminally dullGrin . He also had a habit of playing with his tongue lolling out of his mouth, which was pretty bleurgh.

Used to drive me and my mum madGrin

Of all the finals I was in, only a couple stick in my mind- 1994, because it was on the day my sister had a party for her 21st( and I wanted to stay in and watch- it was one of many parties anyway, a habit she continues 21 years later), and 2000 when he played Rafter. I really wanted Rafter to win- iirc, there were loads of rain delays and it finished when it was really dark.

looking forward to today.

I was in??Grin I mean HE of course!

The80sweregreat · 06/07/2015 08:01

I think AM is going to struggle today, the guy is soo tall! I know he was a bit dull, but I liked 'pistol pete'

enjoy the tennis raahh - the x factor will be back soon, hope to see you there!!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 08:24

enjoy yourself, 80s.

can't believe how quickly the year has gone! Grin Grin

YonicScrewdriver · 06/07/2015 09:09

On the bus, squeee!

MajesticWhine · 06/07/2015 09:28

Hi everyone. Doh. I've been posting on the old thread.

Raahh · 06/07/2015 10:06

majestic- that's ok- MrsV likes to fill the old ones up anywayGrin

Yonic- have an amazing time. Really interesting order of play across the courts today. Should be a good day.

Don't know what the weather is going to do- we are due storms again early afternoon. But I'm in Manchester, so I don't think that's an indication of what it will do in Wimbledon Grin

Was listening to Scott Mills talking to a ball girl on the radio this morning. Was funny- I like all the traditions at Wimbledon. I like the perceived stuffiness of it all. I wouldn't want to see it awash with Aussie style Fanatics -a bit is fine- but dumbed down like the 2day programme is going too far.

MajesticWhine · 06/07/2015 10:11

Have a great day Yonic. The weather forecast is clear in London.
We are spoilt for choice today, some great matches. Very excited.

HenriettaTurkey · 06/07/2015 11:33

Just seen yonic's line up: Safarova v coco, radwanska v jankovic, colic v kudla and then skupski/Konta v 8 seeds.

Marvellous!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 11:37

Hmm the rain arrived her much earlier than expected.

That line up does look good, Henrietta.

Of all the other matches- I think the Kyrgios/Gasquet match could be tricky- it was a long, very close one last year. Definitely rooting for Gasquet though.

Venus and Serena. Will Serena play her dodgy game against her own sister, or will she behave?

Hope Venus wins.

spookyskeleton · 06/07/2015 11:37

Just checking in - I think the school run and Dc's swimming lesson is going to seriously ruin my chances of watching Murray this afternoon! I cannot work out whether it would be better for the Williams' match to go on and on or be over in half an hour Hmm

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:24

Just got in from picking up Dd2 from Nursery - to see Richard is winning- and not phased by Kyrgios and his constant chunnering.
In fact he seems to be playing like he did at Queens, where he played like he didn't want to be there and moaned a lot. Stan was not a fan, that day Grin .

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:28

And now be is swearing.

arrogant git. I'm not buying the 'young bloke, being a young bloke thing' there are plenty of young players who don't act like him .

He needs people around him who stop stroking his ego and believing t be ' breathe of fresh air' crap.

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:31

This is annoying- no comment on how well gasquet is playing, all about the child at the other end of the court. Angry

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:31

Allez Richard!

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:39

ffs- There are TWO players on the court.

Allez Richard.

spookyskeleton · 06/07/2015 12:41

Shock just switched on and seen Sue Barkers summary of his behavior! What an absolute child!! Wonder if it is a psychological game to disrupt his opponent??

Mama1980 · 06/07/2015 12:42

And I've also been posting on the old thread Blush
Heavy rain has put pay to our afternoon plans so I'm getting to watch some tennis. Grin

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:43

spooky probably, only everyone seems to love him, and they are desperate to excuse his behaviour. He is a 20 year old man, not a 2 year old. Angry

They are still totally ignoring Cassidy. Angry

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:44

mama saves me having to do it. Grin

Raahh · 06/07/2015 12:46

who is Cassidy? stupid phone.

Gasquet!!

spookyskeleton · 06/07/2015 12:47

Absolutely raaah my children wouldn't dream of behaving like that and the 6 year old has spectacular tantrums at times but not on that scale Grin

Hope he loses anyway - it will shut up those annoying Aussie fans Wink
