Sue Barker seems to have few of those jackets with the curious sideways pleats where the lapels should be. I don't think they flatter her.

I don't like the uniforms the linespeople and umpires wear either - they most definitely do not flatter the middle aged women who have a bit of a tum like me.

Back to the tennis - Djoko v Federer in the final, I think.

Can't remember who the Goran fan is but he's playing doubles on the red button now! Never liked him much in his playing days....but he's matured nicely....must be getting old!

I used to like seeing the doubles, I hardly bothered for years but now that Murray - Peers team has got me interested again.

Aranxta was the runner-up, last time in 1997. Conchita was the last Spanish champion, in 1994.
I thought the first semi was a good match. The second was... disappointing, but not surprising. Maria just can't play well against Serena.

My children have been vile today. I want to run away. I am not sure whether I want them to contract the chicken pox they were exposed to nearly 2 weeks ago. It will make them more whingey, but at least then they'll have a good reason for being horrible.

Looking forward to tomorrow's matches. They have to be better than today's, right?

I was listening to the 2nd semi on the radio. Judy Murray was saying before the match that Maria has no plan B and just can't change her game to mix it up, which she would have to do to be competitive against Serena, in the way that Heather did. Maria just doesn't have that in her repertoire. Lack of a tennis brain I guess.

I think something would have to go very wrong for it not to be a repeat of last year's final, tbh. But very possibly with a different result. SynthFed has been playing very, very well. Mind you, so has Djok. I don't think the RG final is going to a factor, or a real worry for him, since Wimbledon is one he knows he can win. It won't stop the commentators going on about it thoughHmm Or Murray winning the Olympic gold against Fed (because of course the two tournaments are comparableGrin).

I like Gasquet, but have never seen him play this consistently well- and I'm not sure he can keep it up-but you never know on the day.

But I will miss most of it anyway. Sad Bloody school. Grin

My lovely niece, who I haven't seen for ages, wants to visit on Sunday. I've told her I'd be delighted to see her as long as she doesn't mind the tennis being on the TV when she's here

I'd love for Andy and Richard to win but agree that is very unlikely.

If it's a repeat of last year's final I'd definitely prefer SynthFed to take it.
