Bahrami/Leconte was match of the day

No question.

No arguing.

Made my fortnight to see those two in action again - and I do wonder how many more years we'll see them.

magimedi · 07/07/2015 23:35

I am in AGONY!!

Truly - which match do I watch tomorrow?

Murray/Popsicle or Fed/Simon?

I want to watch the Fed/Simon for the quality of tennis but I also want to watch the Murray/Popsicle to cheer Andy on!

(GO ANDY!!)

The second 2 are easy - it's Stan/Gasquest no problemo!

Maybe it will rain!! Grin

BagelwithButter · 07/07/2015 23:52

Goddamn, great tennis tomorrow and I have to be in London in the afternoon - and tube strike from 6pm.

Thank God no heat wave at least.

spookyskeleton · 08/07/2015 05:39

Am at work this afternoon and won't get home till after 5 so going to miss Murray and Popsicle Sad can't even pray for rain now they have a bloody roof on CC Grin

magimedi · 08/07/2015 08:15

This thread is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2420444-That-Wimbeldon-ball-boys-girls-are-exploited-and-treat-like-shit?pg=1

I would pay to be a ball girl!

NewNameFor2015 · 08/07/2015 08:46

SO would I magi!
towel slaves [crying] [ball]

NewNameFor2015 · 08/07/2015 08:46

that didnt work Tennis

LeBearPolar · 08/07/2015 09:05

I can't choose what to watch either! I really want to see Stan/Gasquet but what if I miss another Djokovic strop? He has been called to account for shouting at a ball-girl yesterday after apologising for seeming to shout at a ball boy in Miami earlier in the year.

SO many articles on the women's shrieking this morning! Azarenka got quite snarky about it in her post-match interview yesterday.

I can't decide if I love or hate the towel-slaves thread. On the one hand, it is ridiculous. But on the other, scary that some people believe that children should be bubble-wrapped to that extent.

KatieScarlettreregged · 08/07/2015 09:11

I'll be sticking to centre with a side order of live update on my phone in case I need to activate the red button.
Towel slave lady is fantastic. Made my morning so far.

Raahh · 08/07/2015 09:15

magi I was reading that earlier. I typed several responses, and then decided life was too short.Grin Quite batshit.

The rain has definitely decided to stick around here. Sadly, it doesn't look like it will rain Friday party pooper and the school sportsday/fair will go ahead. It means that come Friday, I will be out 1-5pm, and may potentially miss almost all of the semi finals- and they are probably my favourite matches. Sad

Should get to see most of today, though, with small interruptions.

magimedi · 08/07/2015 09:19

Totally batshit - but am enjoying winding things up a bit!!

Also can't believe how protective people are over their kids.

Must go & get some food so can be ready for the off at 1pm!

Am most excited.

Come on, Andy!!

(But I do think Popsicle is seriously cute & if I were 12 or so I'd want his poster on my bedroom wall!)

Raahh · 08/07/2015 09:24

yy, magi ,LeBear- the OP seemed determinded to ignore the fact they aren't press-ganged into doing it. And whilst what Djok did was wrong, he didn't exactly rip her to shreds and she is there to do a job. I'm inclined to agree with a poster who said she was probably crying because she messed up, and worried she wouldn't be picked again.
-Must be so awful to be made to participate in an event that will be watched by millions, seeing top name players at such close quarters. Hmm.

Maybe next year, they will be on court wearing latex gloves, and hazmat suits, in case the germs get themGrin

Raahh · 08/07/2015 09:25

Go home Andy!

Grin

yy- Popsicle is very cute. He played such a good doubles match , too. Hopefully that will just make him 'match fit' and not knackered Grin

KatieScarlettreregged · 08/07/2015 09:29

Raah
I may have to hurt you.
(Waves flag while singing Loch Lomond eating haggis and a deep fried mars bar)

Raahh · 08/07/2015 09:36

KatieGrin

I have a French/Canadian surname (thanks to dh, who isn't Canadian, his father was American), so am Team Pospisil. I have some maple syrup in the cupboard. Grin

Of course, anyone listening to the commentary, will most likely not even know he is on court. Sue has enough trouble remembering who he is anyway. Angry

KatieScarlettreregged · 08/07/2015 09:39

Ah, now it all makes sense! Grin
(Passes shortbread and Irn Bru)

Raahh · 08/07/2015 09:40

I haven't had Irn Bru for YEARS! Grin

KatieScarlettreregged · 08/07/2015 09:44

TBH, neither have I, but passing the Diet Coke didn't have quite the same ring to it...

LeBearPolar · 08/07/2015 10:18

Raah - it was like that in the Gasquet/Kyrgios match! Ooh, what a brilliant shot by Kyrgios and ooh, what a shocking strop by Kyrgios and ooh, what an exciting tennis player Kyrgios is.

Meanwhile, poor old Gasquet at the other end...Not surprised he smashed his racquet - just to remind everyone that there were two players on the court, I imagine, and it wasn't just Kyrgios playing with himself (pun intended).

LeBearPolar · 08/07/2015 10:21

Maybe next year, they will be on court wearing latex gloves, and hazmat suits, in case the germs get them

And here is an exclusive preview of next year's outfits.

Raahh · 08/07/2015 10:25

LeBear I knowAngry. I was so glad Gasquet won- and then later that day, Sue had forgotten all about him, and thought only Simon had got through.

I mean, the bias is annoying enough (but just about understandable), when Murray plays- but why are they all wetting themselves over Kyrgios? I think hope he will burn himself out before he achieves anything like the greatness they think he will.

@ Kyrgios playing with himself.

Raahh · 08/07/2015 10:26

LeBear- perfectGrin

No danger of any sweat splatter getting through those Grin

KatieScarlettreregged · 08/07/2015 10:35

Yes but no protection at all at being tersely asked to provide a towel.
Ear defenders?

magimedi · 08/07/2015 10:40

But won't they be green & purple, LeBear?

As you might just have gathered Grin I am a Murray fan but I am SO sick of all the Murray hype & chat. I don't remember it being quite as OTT with 'Tiger' Tim.

Raahh · 08/07/2015 10:52

What I don't understand is, he shouldn't need the hype- his game should be enough. I'm NOT a Murray fanGrin, but he's obviously far better than Tim ever was- why the constant need to act as though everyone else doesn't exist?

Maybe if we had the depth of players that France, or Spain have, they would sound less desperateGrinBut Britain haven't had that for a long time, if ever, really, since Fred Perry so it's nothing new.
