I have just caught up with season 4 and OMG I neeeeed to talk to someone about it!

I've only seen the last half of s4, I watched the rest of 1-3 on catch up in very quick succession and then watched s4 as it was on albeit a bit confused as I'd missed a good few episodes.

Haha, Pete, I'm not a Liv fan, either, but she does make the show. That 'white hat' phrase makes me cringe

Thinking about it, I only like Jake, Mellie and the B613 man who Quinn shagged. The rest irritate the crap out of me.

Oh, and Liv's dad. I wonder what will happen to him in Season 5.

I liked Jake until he went and killed the lovely James. I can't forgive him for that!

White hat isn't a Scandal term, although given Liv's fondness for wearing white perhaps she thinks it is!

It could do with being a bit less unremittingly bloody and awful in Season 5. I like the idea of a modern President trying to conceal the fact he's living with his mistress in the White House. I don't see what Mellie did that was worse than him shooting down a plane full of innocent people. Glad to see Portia di Rossi has some good stuff to come.

I didn't know that tribpot. I thought it was some weird term they had made up. But it's still really irritating, because with all the shenanigans, they're the most un-White-Hatty people I've ever seen!

That storyline with the VP dissing out that naval officer was very far-fetched! But I loved the twist of that solicitor being B613!

And then Rowan shooting him HIMSELF!

White hat can also be used in information security, to apply to 'ethical hackers'. These are people who try to break into systems not to steal data but to highlight security holes - I don't know if that is what the writers had in mind, i.e. people willing to play the system but to do good rather than evil.

I like Liv and Fitz when they are in their jam-making/Virginia fantasy but he is a dick really. Really warming up to Mellie and think (hope) that could get quite interesting in season 5. Am also hoping for a bit less torture and blood though as well tribpot

and I certainly haven't spent many a lunch break perusing the US tv blogs trying to find out what could happen in season 5...nope, not me!

Ooh Scandal fans - love it although already struggling to remember what happened at the end of S4!

I can't stand Fitz and have no idea what Olivia sees in him and the two of them together make me cringe! It annoys me that she goes back to him when he's been a git to her - she's just not like that! I was team Jake!

I love Mellie too.

I agree, I don't get what the attraction is with Fitz. Mind you, that was also true of McDreamy (may he rest). He's too busy being a plot device to be developed properly as a character. I'd be nicked scripts from The West Wing if I were him! Martin Sheen was meant to be a plot device but was just too damn good.

I can't really go a bundle on Jake either, he's a bit too much like Meredith's vet - squeaky clean (admittedly apart from being a mass murderer, same as Fitz - that seems to be a given for all the male characters apart from David).

Mellie has been the real stand-out character, and certainly given the best acting work as the grieving mother.

Who's Mcdreamy?

McDreamy is one of the characters in Grey's Anatomy, one of Shonda Rhimes' other monster hits. She basically owns Thursday nights in the US - Grey's, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder.

Great to see so much Mellie love. She's fabulous. Although, it would be nice to see her wreak terrible revenge on the cheating husband - it would be terrible if she gets more punishment and misery.
They're all fairly unsympathetic characters, but I LOVE watching it and how at the end of nearly every episode I think WTF?!

I think even the actor playing Huck is tiring of Huck. Shooting him would be the best thing really.

Even though he is pure evil, I do like watching Rowan. I cannot wait for series 5.

Yes, I'd imagine the guy playing Huck is pretty bored after all this time of being the tortured psychopath. In fairness none of them have been allowed much character development because Olivia has been so central. Obviously Quinn's been on her journey (also to a very dark place) but Abbie hasn't had much good stuff to do and poor old Jake is barely a character at all, just the least interesting point on the love triangle.
