Grin Anyone else counting down the days! I actually get nervous thinking about it. I have re watched all series and reading the books to pass the time.

Can't wait to see what they do with Sansa and Tyrion this series. And will we see the hound again and lady stone heart?

OP posts:

Daim, it did occur to me that Littlefinger can't have Sansa as she was before; 'wanted for treason' but also a beautiful young girl with a powerful family name. If he was to rescue her now however he could claim he just wanted to marry her to strengthen his title as warden of the northern and cersei would be appeased - after all who could want Sansa after ramsay has been her husband and all that entails. And for Sansa Baelish would be her saviour. Thing is that would suggest Littlefinger knew what he was leaving Sansa to face which is really awful...any means to an end.

AmberFool · 19/05/2015 18:34

BTW, what forums do you visit/post on for GoT? I lurk on the A Forum of Ice and Fire.

Tequilashotsfor1 · 19/05/2015 18:50

yummy yes i was thinking that about sansa and little finger.

Four125 · 19/05/2015 19:25

How does the name Sansa foreshadow her fate? I'm missing something, aren't I?
I don't think the rape scene was necessary, I'm was a fan forum and there are lots of men saying how much they liked that scene, so I'm not on that forum anymore.
I hope Sansa and Theon still enact a bloody revenge.

I'm bored with the Arya storyline.
And the Sand Snakes just seem like petulant teens to me.

Does anyone have any theories on the Cersei prophecy? Are Tommen or Mycella going to die in this series do you think?

People often talk about there being three ultimate rulers because there are three dragons, is there something in the books about this?
I wouldn't have guessed it from the television series.

Vivacia · 19/05/2015 19:32

As in "Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste..." Four

Four125 · 19/05/2015 19:50

Ach I was missing something Smile

Cooroo · 19/05/2015 20:35

Just watched - had to go out last night and tried to watch first but bloody internet slowed to a crawl. Powerful episode. Some lovely humour - dwarf cock and 'for fuck's sake', chilling moments as Arya 'helped' the ill child, and that awful ending. Mind you I was so glad they didn't include the bit with Theon 'getting her ready' (not Sansa in the book of course). So bad as it was I was relieved. I hope Sansa kills Ramsey - I don't want her rescued by Brienne until she's taken her own revenge.

I don't know - you live quietly in Dorne for years then 2 lots of people come to kidnap you on the same afternoon!

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 19/05/2015 21:19

limited But Sansa has done nothing bad (not that anyone deserved to be raped) whereas I feel it's harder to rouse sympathy for Theon because he burnt two innocent boys alive.

TheFirstOfHerName · 19/05/2015 21:35

My favourite line was when Littlefinger made the comment to Cersei about people's taste in sexual partners.

The last scene was v.difficult to watch, even though it seemed inevitable from the time Sansa returned to Winterfell.

tyto · 19/05/2015 22:18

Ramsey is a psychopath. I think it's possible that even worse is to come for Sansa. He'll 'get bored' with her quickly (as his mistress predicted). Perhaps then Theon will finally act.

Cooroo · 19/05/2015 22:42

Just spotted Theon Alfie Allen in The Other Boleyn Girl! This was shortly before my DD exclaimed "oh it's Anne Boleyn! I thought it was about the Brontes." Sigh.

Trills · 20/05/2015 09:05

I don't think Theon burned anyone alive - just killed them.

And Ramsay Snow is hardly Karma's avenging angel - he doesn't do things to people because they deserve them.

Trills · 20/05/2015 09:09

I woud say the ultimate cause of the deaths of those boys was not Theon at all, but his father.

Theon's a boy at this point - maybe 15 in book-land and 17 in tv-land. He's been living with the Starks for years, not mistreated but not quite "one of them". He's held onto hs belief that he is ironborn as an importnt part of his identity.

He goes back expecting to be wecomed and finds that his sister is considered more of "a real man" than he is. His father doesn't respect him, doesn't want him. At Winterfell everything ges tits up and he needs to prove that he is "hard", that he has not "gone soft", that he desn't care about his adoptive family. He panics.

Trills · 20/05/2015 09:10

Did you pay the gold price or the iron price?

Ironborn culture is toxic even for Westeros.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 20/05/2015 12:11

I don't think Theon burned anyone alive - just killed them.

Well that's alright then Shock Their bodies were definitely burnt black, that's how he convinced people it was Bran and Rickon, but thinking back I'm not sure if they were dead then burnt or burnt to death.

And Ramsay Snow is hardly Karma's avenging angel - he doesn't do things to people because they deserve them.

True, but I still find it pretty difficult to rouse an awful lot of sympathy for Theon compared to an innocent like Sansa, regardless of his reasons for murdering those boys. Maybe Ramsey takes it a little far, though Wink

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 20/05/2015 12:13

Ironborn culture is toxic even for Westeros.

They do seem particularly dickish Grin I think it comes from being stuck way out there with rubbish lands compared to, say, King's Landing or Highgarden

FatWalda · 20/05/2015 12:23

"Ramsay has his own way of doing things." Wink

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 20/05/2015 12:31

SaskiaRembrandt I noticed the same thing, it seemed pretty clear Bronn got slashed across the arm- not good if they have poisoned blades. I like Bronn. Sad

FatWalda · 20/05/2015 14:02

Would they have risked going in with poisoned blades against Trystane, who is their cousin? I think Bronn will be all right for a while at least. He will probably shag his way though the Sand Snakes Grin

GentlyBenevolent · 20/05/2015 15:03

There's a spoiler (or possibly a foiler) freely available on the internet about this...

FatWalda · 20/05/2015 15:50

Not going there - I'm enjoying the potential for surprises. Well, as long as Bronn isn't killed off, obv ...

limitedperiodonly · 20/05/2015 16:31

And I disagree with you AmberFool.

I don't like the idea that anyone should be punished with any kind of physical or psychological assault no matter whether they are guilty parties or innocent victims. ChiefClerkDrumknott I believe that if someone is proven guilty even of the most heinous crimes, we lock them up and treat them humanely until they are of no danger and can be released or if they can't be rehabilitated, until they die for our safety.

I also understand the need for a retributive element of justice for the cohesion of society. I'm uncomfortable with it.

It was a general statement Vivacia and not aimed at anyone in particular. Bit pompous, I suppose.

I don't remember talking about rape as empowerment. That's not something I believe though I do think it is possible to overcome acts that are intended to humiliate.

But I understand you might have been referring to someone else there.

Abraid2 · 20/05/2015 17:12

The Dorne storyline is not my favourite. Surely the only point is to emphasise/explain the Elia/Targaryen history and possible outcome? Going to the Iron Islands, by contrast, was interesting because it explained the background of a character we had known since S1 E1 and why he changed into a monster and may hopefully redeem himself (Theon).

I don't really care about the Dorne people. I feel as if we're marking time there.

AmberFool · 20/05/2015 18:01

And I disagree with you AmberFool. Fair enough. Smile

I believe that if someone is proven guilty even of the most heinous crimes, we lock them up and treat them humanely until they are of no danger and can be released or if they can't be rehabilitated, until they die for our safety.

Totally agree. In real life. In fiction though, I want the monsters/bad guys etc in fiction to pay. That does not include Theon though as I've always liked him, what he has had to endure (book and film) has been stomach churning. Ramsey, on the otherhand, deserves everything he gets. Grin

I don't remember talking about rape as empowerment. It wasn't aimed at you. It was aimed at the writers/showrunners.

I hope Sansa kills Ramsey - I don't want her rescued by Brienne until she's taken her own revenge. Yup, cooroo I am fed up of Sansa being the victim and then being rescued. I'm not sure she will kill Ramsey (hooray if she does) but she should certainly rescue herself eg exit plan or whatever.

limitedperiodonly · 20/05/2015 18:37

I'm glad that we've come to an understanding AmberFool. I hate to fall out but sometimes I do because I go on and on and don't explain myself very well at first go.

I'm torn about whether fictional characters should get their comeuppuance.

Part of me wants it but part of me admires the bleak ending that life is shit and then it gets a lot shittier and then you are beheaded Grin

I'd prefer Sansa to do for Ramsay with a big serrated hunting knife in the guts. While Theon watched. And then she'd go for Myranda...
