Anyone watching?

OP posts:

I can't believe Cary is going to jail - surely there must be a twist & he'll get off??

Great episode & totally loving Eli's daughter!

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 05/04/2015 06:47

Am I missing something about the American legal system? How can Alicia be states attorney, holding office to prosecute the accused whilst at the same time be working as a defence attorney, representing the accused?

Surely she'll have to give up working at her own firm? Why has that not been mentioned yet and why would she do that when they are just setting up?

Howaboutthisone · 05/04/2015 08:28

I think they mentioned that she's stepping away from cases now. I agree that its a bit nuts though- especially if she continues to have a financial interest in the firm, which also carries her name!

However I'm happy to overlook and suspend reality in the way I do when watching homeland as I love them both so!GrinWink

merrymouse · 05/04/2015 08:38

Alicia's hair is a wig. They decided she needed straight groomed hair and it would be too much of a faff to style jm's curly hair every day.

(But I did not know mamie gummer is meryl streep's daughter! (Although obv now when you look at the cheek bones...))

OnlyLovers · 05/04/2015 11:52

Howabout, 'Eli is bloody amazing! I love that he blatantly has so much more respect for Alicia than he has for peter!'
Is this in response to the most recent episode with the teacher note? I'm being dim but I can't work out what you mean about respect; could you explain slowly and clearly as if to an idiot? Grin

TheDiet, yes, she's stepping away from her cases, but anyway she is still only running for SA; wouldn't she be allowed to carry on practising until/unless she actually BECOMES SA?

HalleLouja · 05/04/2015 12:49

Poor Cary. He looks beaten and broken. Looks like he has gone then. Hopefully we will have some new cases. The judge was funny this week. I have missed the court scenes and Kalinda actually being useful.

I know I say this every week but Alicia won't get with Finn I am first in line.

Westendgal · 05/04/2015 14:43

A wig, really???? I can usually spot one a mile away.

HalleLouja · 05/04/2015 15:27

Good Good Wife wig and you will find her talking about it. Its amazing. I think it deserves its own show. Easter Grin

HalleLouja · 05/04/2015 15:27

Sorry that should say google Good Wife wig.

Westendgal · 05/04/2015 15:38

Wow. My world has well and truly been rocked by that news. It explains why I can't get my hair to look anything like as swishy as her's.

oneowlgirl · 05/04/2015 17:03

Wow - that's amazing! Gorgeous hair / wig!

Duckdeamon · 05/04/2015 18:51

A wig! Shock

drinkscabinet · 09/04/2015 22:36

I am getting so confused. Did Peter really delay the judge? Why did Alicia kiss Johnny? Has Peter realised at there's a thing with Finn and that's why he interfered during her debate preparation? What the fuck is Bishop doing and how screwed is Kalinda going to be? Argh. I almost wish I didn't watch it weekly and could binge on it on DVD like I did with the first couple of series.

Howaboutthisone · 09/04/2015 22:43

Phew! I couldn't find this thread for a bit then!

Re respect: I feel like Eli is really just putting up with peter and often does the eye roll and seems to see Peter simply as his to mould and as someone who is hugely flawed. Whilst he gets frustrated by Alicia he appears to respect the fact that she has a strong mind and strong views on things and will largely not be swayed.

As for tonight's episode- I loved it! Cary was amazing in it! His little crumpled face bless him! I'm beyond pleased that he stayed out of prison. It was good to see Kalinda prepared to put herself on the line for him tho it'll be interesting to see how that's played out.
Loved the mock debates too!

Duckdeamon · 09/04/2015 22:58

Am still on the preceding episode and am feeling v sorry for poor skinny Cary!

oneowlgirl · 09/04/2015 23:18

Tonight's episode was ace & great acting by Cary! I wonder how Kalindas actions will play out - will be interesting to see & although I do think Lemond Bishop is gorgeous, he frightened me tonight.

Loved the debates - how Alicia has grown through the seasons, it's hard to imagine she was ever the weak willed governors wife!

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 09/04/2015 23:27

Eli's eye roll is the BEST in the business.

Moanranger · 09/04/2015 23:32

Good episode. The whole thing a cliff-hanger, though - last couple of weeks: will he or won't he go to jail? I didn't believe he would in the end. While it was pretty implausible, I like how they weave actual legal terminology in:"Brady defense" etc.
I suspect Kalinda is now doomed - see if she can wiggle out of her pact with the devil aka Lemond Bishop.

candykane25 · 09/04/2015 23:36

Kalinda is screwed either way. Either she's screwed by the law or she screwed by bishop as she is now in his pocket.
I suspect Cary won't be able to save her or keep her.
Lovely to see Kalinda's vulnerability though. Love Cary.
That snog with Johnny is bound to be on cctv somewhere, Finn will be jealous.

DustBunnyFarmer · 09/04/2015 23:37

I enjoyed tonight's episode, especially the mock debates. Peter is a knob. I loved how Alicia trounced him. I'd like to see her trample all over him. He's not her equal - and it seems people are starting to notice, though probably not him because he's too dumb and ambitious.

I thought the prison consultant was Herc from The Wire - he was very familiar, particularly his voice. Anyone else agree? (I will check on IMDB in a minute in any case.)

Llareggub · 09/04/2015 23:38

I knew she'd kiss him. There's more chemistry between her and Johnny than there ever was with whatshisname from Dead Poet's Society, Peter and Finn combined.

Personally I'd go for Eli over any of them.

DustBunnyFarmer · 09/04/2015 23:39

Nods in agreement. (Though I want her to pair up with Finn.)

Duckdeamon · 09/04/2015 23:46

None of them match up to Will IMO!

DustBunnyFarmer · 10/04/2015 00:02

Nope. You can keep Will - he did nothing for mel. I'll take Finn.

Llareggub · 10/04/2015 00:07

Agreed then. I'll keep Johnny. Phwoar!
