I hate the fact that at secondary school they send reports home with the kids which are addressed to parents but the kids assume they have more right than you to read what is written because it is about them and they usually do before you've seen it!

Don't know what to suggest about your DS2. I suppose it depends on what the report was about and why he forged your signature. My answer would probably be that anything addressed to me is for me, not you and it is my choice whether I share it with you! The same is true of all post. I suppose you could ask the school to email things to you first if it is possible in future so that there's no chance of it slipping through the net. It depends on how co-operative your school is.

cjwoofwoof · 04/01/2015 12:54

Oh I say it's all been happening on here whilst my back's turned! I too have a confession - I'm absolutely not anybody clever, a writer, a TV production assistant or even TG; just a sad old biddy with a total fixation on CJs combats and headset. Well done all you clever ff incognito writers - you're the nuts and i love everything you write, esp the QS!!

cjwoofwoof · 04/01/2015 12:58

Richtea all school reports and info are now sent via email at my DSs school, so there's no sneakiness any more and they can't get away with any forged signatures. Maybe worth a suggestion to your Parent Governor?

Richtea19 · 04/01/2015 13:04

Thanks for your thoughts/advice rhubard and cjwoof. It was one of those mid term reports that the children are meant to tick boxes where they think they need improvement etc. Another example of how teachers can push this sort of reporting back to the kids/parents. He was meant to get one of us to sign having read it and then return, but because he forgot to ask us he missed the deadline and therefore would of got a detention. As much as I am looking forward to them going back to school, it starts again...homework, revision..... Nagging, stress, dramas! Hey ho!!

Richtea19 · 04/01/2015 13:05

I will drop an email to his form tutor though. I am sure she knew as the signature wasn't that convincing!

Rhubarb01 · 04/01/2015 13:10

Richtea I've got a little bit of sympathy for him in the circumstances - I'm too soft hearted as I don't like them getting into trouble if it can be avoided even if it is their responsibility. I suppose being a bit cross might do this time. Generally we get text messages reminding us that things have to be returned and the kids have them. Don't know if his school do that.

PassTheCremeEggs · 04/01/2015 13:11

Rhubarb - brilliant new chapter! I got the email notification saying there was a new one just as I was starting kids' lunch - so rushed it through to disappear and read. What a cliff hanger.

Rhubarb01 · 04/01/2015 13:23

Thanks Cremeeggs. Much appreciated!

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 13:35

Fab new chapter Rhubarb. Only just had chance to read it.

All the males are asleep here! So I'm catching up on Downton abbey.

I would love to work at the bbc but alas I am a reservations agent for a tour operator. Nearest I get to BA is that we specialise I holidays to Canada

Great work Rhubarb!

Onlygirljen · 04/01/2015 14:28

Loved it rhubarb. Am meant to be getting some paperwork done this afternoon before return to work on Tuesday, have ended up spending the afternoon re reading your fic instead! Grin

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2015 14:39

Rhubarb - have to confess when I read the first chapter of this a while back, I didn't really think it was my kind of thing but have just sat down now and read all 12 chapters and I am soooooo impressed. Very glad I took the others' advice that I needed to get into the first couple of chapters then I would be hooked. You are very clever. I just love the way there are similarities between OG and your own work and the research must have taken you a while (as your DD will no doubt verify).

I can check in on this thread via my PC at work (just have it running in the background) but haven't dared read the ff on my PC so have had to read it on my phone in work - used up half my data allowance in December! Can see me using it all as I am more and more drawn into it all as the days go by.

Been for a walk this morning as it was far too cold and icy to go out on my bike. Feel really lazy this afternoon but need to do something otherwise I will end up falling asleep.

Back later.

Oh icemist I was hoping you'd been holding out on us Wink.!!!

Anyway, just to confirm that I am completely mental, just been to nandos to lunch (yes, we do seem to have been there a lot lately!!) And there was a guy there who looked the spit of BA, but not quite . . . So you know how you keep looking at someone trying to work it out?!?! Anyway, having finally convinced myself it wasn't him (with 3 women, another bloke and 2 kids with him) I followed him out and he was wearing a hoodie from some place in Devon!!!! Seriously, I have to get grip on reality!!!

So, off to read the ff, before I pick the kids up. Sounds like there is lots to read :)

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 14:57

lol! Nickel did you not take a sly photo on your phone?
did he have a baseball cap or brown suede jacket?

OP posts:
Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 15:11

Hee hee, did think about it but as soon as I got my phone out kids started arguing as to who was playing on it first, so it wouldn't have been very subtle!!! No baseball hat or jacket, but burgundy red cord trousers, so maybe actually hoping it really wasn't him!!!

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 15:13

(Or maybe I shouldn't say that just in case it was him and he is now reading this lol)

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 15:20

I would hope that BA had much better taste than burgundy cord trousers

Me too!!

Rhubarb01 · 04/01/2015 15:56

Thanks everyone and thanks for the feedback about needing to get into the story. That's actually really useful to know and something I will bear in mind for anything I might ever try in the future.

elsie3g · 04/01/2015 15:59

nickel do you reckon he was tall enough to be him? Nandos tattoos all round if it was him Hmm

Oneforthegirls · 04/01/2015 16:00

Rhubarb
Lovely new chapter. What a cliff hanger.

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 16:03

Rhubarb, your ff is brilliant (and I've actually got myself an account now, so can review as me!!). Thank you. Please double way and do the next chapter though .... I can't wait!!!!

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 16:07

Hee hee elsie! I'm not sure, I tried to stand next to him .... While using the excuse of fighting with littlie to get her coat on to get in his way (how sad am I), but she didn't cooperate ....! Kids!!!!

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 16:10

Is the author paintedcherryblossoms (five years on) on here too? Im really enjoying that as well, and it ended on a cliff hanger too .... I can't believe how involved I am getting in these ff's!

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 16:12

I love that one too!
