I think it starts next week. Grin

I researched property prices, transport links, shopping etc before moving around eight MILES away, never mind the other side of the world.

wobblebobblehat · 28/01/2015 09:39

Err... why not go and rent?

Wherever you live it won't be like being on holiday.

Horsemad · 28/01/2015 09:43

I'd never move to NZ; it's just like the UK but bigger!!!

iklboo · 28/01/2015 09:47

New Zealand is very green. That means rain. HOW did they not realise it rains? Just because it's down under doesn't mean year round sun. Parts of Australia are very rainy! They're there for a week. The weather's not going to be like that all the time.

And it DOESN'T rain in Manchester all the time. Alright, today it's a bloody monsoon tempest, but not all the time.

TapDancingPimp · 28/01/2015 09:47

I hate the way the cameras always zoom-in during the card turning but, it's so unflattering and they always look so uncomfortable! Cringe!

iklboo · 28/01/2015 09:49

Nearly a tenner for Double Gloucester?! So eat a local cheese then.

TapDancingPimp · 28/01/2015 09:54

Nice to see some positive messages from home for once.

iklboo · 28/01/2015 09:55

Nan was great.

Update:-

"Even though Emma voted for the UK at the final vote, and Ceri was undecided, the couple have since decided to continue exploring the possibility of moving to New Zealand. On returning to the UK they kept in touch with some of the work contacts they met in New Zealand, who are keeping them up to date with job developments. Emma and Ceri have both decided they shouldn't give up on the dream of emigrating quite so quickly, as they both really loved their time in Auckland.

The couple are heading back to New Zealand towards the end of this year, and are planning to explore other cities on the North Island to see if they like anywhere else as much as they liked Auckland. Emigrating within the next few years remains a real possibility for the couple"

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 28/01/2015 10:19

I'm quite surprised by that update because I thought today was a real dead duck. They both have jobs they like, one with a flexible contract, they like their home and can afford it and have family they're very close to Confused
Manchester's well located for all kinds of days out and they have the city centre lifestyle they enjoy.

To want to move to the other side of the world where there are less job opportunities, a less affluent lifestyle. a much less comfortable home and miss their family and friends is just bizarre.

Horsemad · 28/01/2015 10:39

Crackers, imo Grin

Batmam · 28/01/2015 13:18

Missed it today but got the gist of it from you lot! This thread's more fun than the programme it's about ??

Vagndidit · 29/01/2015 09:18

Letting the 13 year old make the decisions? I'm already tutting!

susiedaisy · 29/01/2015 09:20

Never mind Bee in about three years you won't want to be anywhere near them Wink

DreamingOfAHotDrink · 29/01/2015 09:20

Why do they both have to work such long hours? Confused

Vagndidit · 29/01/2015 09:20

Ok..taking it back. Poor kid just wants time with her workaholic parents.

Dustyshelf · 29/01/2015 09:21

She is just desperate for their attention.

runlikeagirl · 29/01/2015 09:21

My first live one! Why can't they just change work hours in uk?

thehumanjam · 29/01/2015 09:23

Poor kid. If the mother is a lawyer she must earn good money, South Wales is dirt cheap and yet the Father needs two jobs. Priorities need reassessing.

susiedaisy · 29/01/2015 09:23

On the surface of it. One child. Both working full time with fairly good wages they'd should be ok financially

DreamingOfAHotDrink · 29/01/2015 09:23

The Dad could give up the gym job and she would then have a parent at home.

iklboo · 29/01/2015 09:24

Another 'oh it's Australia so it must be hot all the time'.

runlikeagirl · 29/01/2015 09:25

Mum's been reading this thread!

susiedaisy · 29/01/2015 09:26

How do you know that?

Vagndidit · 29/01/2015 09:26

Won't move unless it's a nice house with a pool, easy commute and 250k. Game over, me thinks.
