Hismumhermum · 27/01/2015 10:11

Found the house again.

Bakeoffcakes · 27/01/2015 10:14

I've just noticed on the update that it says programme 17/20.

That means there's only 3 left!!

Hismumhermum · 27/01/2015 10:20

They will be doing revisited next-that should be good too!

ignominious · 27/01/2015 10:21

The series should never end it must be cheap to make. Agree with the pp who wanted a series on Canada. Spain would also be good.

Sparklingbrook · 27/01/2015 10:21

Just had a look on the Sky Planner. Next Monday it's Wanted Down Under Revisited. so basically the same show with a 5 minute bit at the end for the reveal of what finally happened.

ignominious · 27/01/2015 10:46

Watching today's episode on iplayer. Lovely couple and the toddler is possibly the cutest so far.

Is the use of words as decoration an Australian thing? Almost every house has had one so far. Lots of canvases and cushions and little cut out letters.

SamanthaClaire · 27/01/2015 11:20

So, just finished this....it was the only one so far that I wandered off to do something else. It was pretty boring.
Why can't they offer a chance to someone who wants to go live on a station? Or in an aborigine area, nursing or teaching or something? At least mix it up a bit. Show me more than the same old same old houses (I know for a fact that not all Aussie houses look like that) the usual trips to the wildlife parks and the beach and teary relatives.
I know it's supposed to be formulaic but it gets a bit much sometimes.
Show me a young man having a night on the town in sydney. A professional lady on the dating scene. Small towns, fixer upper houses, how to start your own business.
Probably asking too much. Never mind, it's an excuse to have a damn good moan!

Sparklingbrook · 27/01/2015 11:22

The old series with Nadia Sawalha they sampled a property in town, one in the country and one by the sea and they actually went and did the jobs for a bit. So much better.

there is no waiting list for us to have orthodontist treatment here in Dorset. I know it can be hit and miss depending where you live.

I might apply next year though not sure I could endure the wrath of mumsnet. Grin have no intention of emigrating but fancy a free holiday.

When they meet with potential employers, I wonder if their wish to portray Oz in a positive light causes them to over egg the pudding? So the employer will rave about opportunities, working conditions and salaries but the reality might be different.

And how many Aussies will be applying for the family friendly hours working as practice nurses and teaching assistants?

Or am I overthinking this? Confused

sailorsgal · 27/01/2015 14:13

what happens if you find yourself in financial difficulties? are they entitled to benefits?

Today's was quite dull- Ironically the most interesting thing was that she'd lived in the same street for 31 yrs and only had 1 job in her whole life yet was up for such a big change according to update.

wobblebobblehat · 28/01/2015 09:17

Here we go...

ClaimedByMe · 28/01/2015 09:21

Just switched on...

sailorsgal · 28/01/2015 09:26

"Very small."

"It is a bit..."

Oh dear.Smile

Vagndidit · 28/01/2015 09:29

Another completely unrealistic budget for one of the world's priciest cities.

sailorsgal · 28/01/2015 09:31

well they can only afford a shoe box.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 28/01/2015 09:34

Missed the start. Noisy in a city Grin
165k wouldn't get much in most uk cities either.

iklboo · 28/01/2015 09:35

Moon on a stick with sprinkles on.

Their flat in Manchester can't be much quieter - it's hardly rolling fields round there!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 28/01/2015 09:36

I note too that they had never visited NZ before now. What were these ladies expecting to find there?. Auckland is a hideously expensive city to live in.

Horsemad · 28/01/2015 09:38

What jobs do they do? Missed that bit.

TapDancingPimp · 28/01/2015 09:38

I missed the start, were they insistent on a city centre apartment? Surely they'd get a but more if they moved further out?

She has a Great job, too.
