Gave up cooking for the kids and got a take away.

Santa was in town switching the Christmas lights on and guess who he brought with him? Nothing like the real thing.

Wow!
Funny how it all started with nickel comments about deer scared by lights, then we thought at the "stags only"... And it snowballed! I mean, CJ is well represented by a stag...noble, slim, long legs, fiery and territorial...and I am stopping here...

Richtea19 · 22/11/2014 20:11

SPO tooooo cute! Can we see a resemblance?

Ok here goes on the rhyme, sorry can't do a limerick!

Molly Dawes from an Eastend Town
Joining the army Afghan bound

She met a stern face handsome Captain
Who she won over saving Smurf on a mountain

Singing a duet on the stage
Heeps of chemistry where their eyes engage

Biting lips and swinging mics

All the attributes the MN's like!

Captain James is our Stag
And Molly Dawes just wants a shag!

Sorry lowered the tone!!!!! ;)

cherin · 22/11/2014 20:18

Well I stopped just a flic short of your tone...

Proud to say that DS1 had to prepare a piece of persuasive writing for school today and came asking for suggestions for a topic. I tried to engage him in the "should women be allowed to fight in the battlefield" but he would not have any of it. Ended up with a much more trite "is it better to have one single, long school holiday or breaks like now" (second choice to "spending money to send robots on mars vs helping famines"...trite and re-trite...). His opinion was very firm: women can become soldier but stay safer out of direct combat, why even would they want to change it? (Ahemm...)

cherin · 22/11/2014 20:19

Ever, not even

monopod · 22/11/2014 20:32

Captain James' first impressions were iffy
But Dawes proved he was wrong in a jiffy
He fell hard and fast
They kissed at long last
And Dawes became James rather quickly

Ok, not a patch on the others, but I felt I needed to make a contribution!

Guess which ep littlie wanted to watch tonight ...
I have a request, said the boss,
About coffee I don't give a toss,
When you go on your hols,
Come back to me, Molls,
Without you, I'm all at a loss

snumpy · 22/11/2014 20:55

Evening all

Thanks icemist for those lovely photos. Saw them on the train back from Newcastle - certainly made the journey back better. Long day shopping, feet are killing me and I had to 'dig in' a few times to keep on going.

Those limericks are making me laugh, unfortunately I'm not as talented as you guys so I'll have sit this one out.

Going for a monkey bath and then watching Ep3 in bed.

firegirl · 22/11/2014 20:57

That's a great one Nickel, everyone's on fire today!

Richtea19 · 22/11/2014 21:12

I've just seen some photos on tumblr of BA in the film Compulsion. They are bedroom scenes, so a bear chest... Have to say it's another example of CJ versus BA. It's CJ for me. He does look very young in Compulsion, definatley better with age, more chiseled and stag like!

icemist · 22/11/2014 21:12

Love it Nickel.

I am not getting any inspiration but am loving all the limericks.

Saw those earlier richtea
He's certainly improved with age Grin and I wonder did he work out for the role or before?

I think I need to see him in a different role - a current one - as the others are a few years ago. But I am a lot more CJ than BA - such a great character

Watching from the start again. I'm developing a theory on the attitude of CJ based on how low slung his trousers are. I shall have to be thorough in my research.

orphan · 22/11/2014 22:16

Am very interested in your low slung trouser theory pixie (purely from an academic point of view of course). I look forward to your findings...

Smurfingreat · 22/11/2014 22:24

I may have to join in the low slung trouser research, be interesting to see how it compares to stubble and rolled up sleeves!

Just saw an ad on tv for a fly on the wall filmed at Brize Norton featuring soldiers coming and going from Afghan, on Pick at 6ish tomorrow.

Limericks are very impressive all.

Ilovelblue · 22/11/2014 22:27

I knew it was going to be a good day on here when the first song I heard on the radio was 'Don't go breaking my heart' on the Graham Norton show. You put me to shame, all of you. In my defence though I've been doing some Christmas present wrapping....

orphan · 22/11/2014 22:30

CJ clearly is my poetic muse...

A captain with no physical flaws
Fell in love with a medic called Dawes
A bite of the lip
And her heart would go 'flip'
And the viewers at home would hit 'pause'.

Nickel45 · 22/11/2014 22:31

Pics to help (?) with the low slung trouser research (had fun getting these screen shots!)

I am very interested in the results of your research and may have to do some myself to back up your findings pixie

Love it, orphan, brilliant! :)

icemist · 22/11/2014 22:35

I'll add this one in for further study

One of my favourites, icemist, think I might have to join the research too, just to do a qc check of your findings.

Rhubarb01 · 22/11/2014 22:40

orphan that is brilliant!

SPOfficer · 22/11/2014 22:42

My own research on low slung trousers is that if they become too loose, they will eventually fall down and become an impediment to walking.
