I am baffled.

Sleepingbunnies · 27/10/2014 21:54

Sorry, presses post too soon. Baffled as to how so much was missed, it is all covering up and blaming. Such a mess.

thoughtsbecomethings · 27/10/2014 21:54

Certainly the untold story, quite shocking

I dont think its the untold story at all. Theyre all still blaming each other, all still saying "it wasnt my fault" nothing new is being said, just lots of he said, she said. No answers, no surprises as it was clear all along that people were covering their asses and appointing scapegoats.

And it certainly wasnt baby P's untold story Angry

redandyellowbits · 27/10/2014 21:58

I didn't believe a word Ed a balls said - he sounded very guilty about the Ofsted report being tampered with.

thoughtsbecomethings · 27/10/2014 22:00

Social workers are under immense pressure and their work loads are ridiculous.

What Ed Balls said about Rebekkah Brooks was interesting. Bigging himself up for saying No to a stunt like he was some kind of hero.

LillyGrinter · 27/10/2014 22:03

Shocking! I remember at the time, feeling terribly sorry for the social workers getting so much vitriol but had no idea about the cover up.

WestmorlandSausage · 27/10/2014 22:04

I don't think they were trying to cover up I think they were trying to explain how it could happen. Bit hard to do at the time with The Sun baying for blood.

BigRedBall · 27/10/2014 22:05

I was nodding off (very long day) and fighting to stay awake until I heard the doctor's pay out and keep shut revelation. Absolutely shocking.

I've also never knew the doctor's story. Poor woman. Then they reveal baby P's back may not have even been broken when she examined him. And she's suffered a life long breakdown because of this Sad.

It scares me how much we don't know about things in the media spotlight. The press have far too much control. The idea that a politician should have to "be brave" to get the truth known is abhorrent.

SuburbanRhonda · 27/10/2014 22:07

dia, if you think it was all about blame, you must have been watching a different programme from the one I watched.

Sleepingbunnies · 27/10/2014 22:07

Totally scapegoating and blaming each other. It is ridiculous.

cupofsneeze · 27/10/2014 22:08

120,000 for the Drs silence. Did they say that or did i hear it wrong Shock

I'm sat here speechless, its thrown every opinion i had on the individuals involved in the air.

Sleepingbunnies · 27/10/2014 22:09

I agree cup i am now unsure what to think of Sharon shoesmith

LineRunner · 27/10/2014 22:09

So...

Police failings
NHS failings
Political interference
Ofsted spinelessness
Local children's safeguarding board misled

And a few social workers thrown to the wolves, thanks to The Sun.

BigRedBall · 27/10/2014 22:09

I think it was £20,000.

The unfortunate truth is that children die at the hands of those that should be caring for them on a very frequent basis. Social work will never be able to save everyone. That doesn't mean that they/we/society should stop trying.

Serious case reviews are important to try and understand what happened and try to make sure it doesn't happen again. The hounding of the professionals involved was ridiculous. No wonder they have difficulties retaining social workers. They were hung out to dry for political reasons.
