I hate Kennedy from Buffy

That's it...so badly cast....what was Joss thinking? I feel so annoyed everytime she gets screen time when it can be given to the other characters.

I promise I do have a busy life, just feel strongly about this Grin

Clem would be a good puppy name.

The first spike in LA episode has some good snark about Angel.

riverboat1 · 18/09/2014 23:13

Just had to stop in to agree that Kennedy was an awful character. I know they were going for the opposite of Tara, but it was just so badly done. She was bratty, arrogant, badly acted (IMO), no chemistry with Willow...just fail in every front. It probably didn't help that Alyson Hannigan appeared to be phoning it in all through season 7. Yes Willow was supposed to be broken and damaged, but it was just depressing watching a character that used to be so full of life and so funny and quirky be reduced to a relentlessly wet rag.

Loved Buffy, adored spike. Nearly name dd1 anya but knew it would be pronounced an-ya rather than arn-ya

Best episode has to be the gentlemen

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 18/09/2014 23:20

Ah, bad mother alert. I used to still do watch buffy when dd was wee.she used to say "not scary cos Barbie (sic) kicks monsters bums" (she still loves it)

riverboat1 · 18/09/2014 23:21

Hush was indeed amazing. I think season 4 had some great standalone episodes. I particularly loved the Spike stuff in that season, logically it didn't make a lot of sense and tonally it jars with the series as a whole, but I don't care! Spike living with Giles was comedy gold, and I loved the 'performance anxiety' gag with Willow too.

ABlandAndDeadlyCourtesy · 18/09/2014 23:23

Hush - best telly ever.

Stabby stakey mime

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 18/09/2014 23:33

I don't understand how you can spare the energy to hate Kennedy when there are "British" Potentials in the same episodes.

Spadequeen · 18/09/2014 23:35

Hush, yes that's the one. Dh and friend dressed as the gentlem a few years ago for Halloween, they were amazing. Terrified the shit out of some people, was very good

Spadequeen · 18/09/2014 23:35

Once more with feeling was also very good

RandomMess · 18/09/2014 23:40

I'm appalled, it's so long I can't think who Kennedy was Blush

CalamitouslyWrong · 19/09/2014 07:29

I hated Kennedy too. You can spare the energy to hate her because she gets such a disproportionate amount of screen time.

I liked both spike and Andrew in season 7.

AnathemaIsANiceNameForAGirl · 21/09/2014 18:49

Agree re Kennedy. But then there are lots of things I don't like about season 7.

I think Angel (series) is getting a bad rap here! Buffy is my first and one true TV love, but there are tons of fantastic Angel episodes and much to enjoy in his series. It is darker and more noirish than Buffy, and although (as a PP hinted) season 4 is problematic, IMO it is still better than most TV and most definitely deserves to be watched.

picnicbasketcase · 21/09/2014 18:51

I loved the show. However, that bit at the end where Kennedy says 'come on Red, make it happen' when Willow is doing the spell is cringeworthy beyond belief.

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 22/09/2014 13:19

I suppose Joss wanted at least one of the lead characters to finish the series with a happy-ish personal life...

I never thought Spike's accent was that bad! Love both series but I wished they'd have finished Angel properly

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 22/09/2014 19:11

Spike's accent was TERRIBLE in S2, but it got better and by the end it was OK -- not totally convincing, but not painful.

ABlandAndDeadlyCourtesy · 22/09/2014 19:22

Dru's accent was from Planet Insanity, no?

mamapants · 22/09/2014 19:25

I didn't mind Kennedy that much. Hated Tara, such a drip.
I have just started a rewatch, on episode 3. So much to look forward to. DP has never seen them so I get to share in his surprise. He didn't even know who Angel was!!

LeBearPolar · 22/09/2014 19:36

Ahhhhhh, Buffy. DS is just permitted to watch some early ones (he's nearly 12). He loves the musical episode.

Don't want to out myself but his middle name is also a Buffy tribute. DH and I watched every single episode together - it started more or less at the same time as we got together - and we are both huge fans.

Kennedy - awful character. But we can forgive the superb Joss a lot.

CalamitouslyWrong · 22/09/2014 20:24

I introduced DH to buffy when I was on maternity leave (years ago now). He's obsessed now. Grin
