Milton Keynes is where the house is / near. Don't believe the concrete jungle hype, that's more for the shopping centre (glass / concrete, although still green with threes); for example these are just two tiny parts of the town.....

Just getting to the round-up. Wall of fish! (Fish tank in the wall.) Argh - awful view of the housing estate.

I like the roof, just glimpsed.

I liked it. It didn't matter that there was a new estate close by as the back of the house overlooked the fields and was very private. Enjoyed thus episode

I missed the beginning. What sort of aircraft was Dr Bonkers going to put in that huge shed?

The sedum roof looked a bit sorry for itself at the end; I mean, it was all lush when they laid it, but it looked as though it had all dried out and looked half dead.

Shuts caught up on 4od. Poor Chard looked miserable. How he could go ahead and build something that was so clearly against the wishes of his partner of 20yrs is completely beyond me. Bizarre and massively selfish.

I didn't like the finished article either. The overall concept wasa nice one but it was clumsily executed, things like the awkward very angular glazing in the lovely curved wall. It just didn't work.

Shuts? just

Her stony face as he was titting about, playing the guitar at her at the end for the credits.

Agreed on the sedum roof. I was excitedly googling one for my garage in the break, then at the end closed that tab.

shipping containers.
there is a 'block of flats' of them close where I live. it's colourful and suits the maritime/industrial area.

The location is stunning.

It's not. Think they will be really pokey.

I wondered about the engineering issue.

Report
mausmaus · 24/09/2014 21:34

I though such engineering issues are calculated.

There are loads of extremely cool container houses around the world.
DH keeps asking if they are using my student portfolio as a episode guide....curved timber frame building, rising grass roof - check, container house - check hehe wonder if next weeks will continue the run?

I like the cladding (is it even cadding if it's metal?) but not sure yet how it will fit in the area.

I think Kevin's lost the plot. It still looks like shipping containers. In my eyes ugly.

Hate fake grass.

mausmaus · 24/09/2014 22:00

I like it, but don't think it fits well there.

as kevin said earlier it's great when you look out from it as you don't have to see it.

Still scratching our heads here about how the outside stairs (no handrail) and bedroom french window (drop/no safety rail) passed building control. I'd be putting the tiny nephew featured in the background in a crash helmet & padded clothing every time he visits uncle Paddy.

I love this house, for him and the location. I think its quite magical. The only think I don't like is the chimney.

Report
forago · 24/09/2014 22:07

the fake grass is a bit naff though
