hmm interesting one.

I like the design, but only 2 bedrooms for a 4 person family?

I think it's a bit of a vanity project that focuses more on the materials than on the subsequent building.

It's too small before it's even built. It may be so innovative as to be unmortgageable.

I hope she doesn't get pregnant...

Where's the Health and Safety on this one?

Report
mausmaus · 10/09/2014 21:40

it reminds me a bit of a static caravan.

We are watching on chase play. Just seen them installing the roof panels in the peeing rain and dark with no safety measures. DH and I will be amazed if Gregory's wife isn't widowed by the end of this build. They are playing very fast and loose with health & safety. DH knows about this stuff and is almost watching through his fingers.

I didn't like the raw unfinished look of the interior or the fitted furniture. I doesn't look like a comfortable home

my fil (retired builder) couldn't watch either.
even though his next sentence was 'remember when that scaffold collapsed leavin colleague and me hanging off a windowsill 4 floors up...'

liked the finishing. the children's beds were stunning.
but am still not convinced about the size. imagine 2 teenagers in that small (ish) bedroom.

I had an uncharitable thought about the size of this house. Perhaps the husband and wife are planning to move into the big family home next door when her parents pop their clogs, leaving the inflexible modernist house to the (then) older girls.

dh said something similar, maybe they will swap house with the parents when the dc are older.

Sounds promising. DH is just making us a cuppa. We'll be catching up shortly and skipping the ads - should finish about the same time as you.

I love this couple. They are brilliant. Loving the sedum roof.

We've just got to the bit where she's telling Kevin she hates the whole thing and likes square houses. DH snorted with derision when Dr Bonkers said there are no squares in nature - DH pointed out this is a pretty common crystal formation, which immediately brought cuboid iron pyrite to mind. Ah well.

Which part of the country is this? It looks very green and lush

tbh they are a bit like dh and I.
he's renovating the dc's bedrooms, which means the dc sleep in with us atm because their bedroom is a building site and the playroom is a workshop.
I'd like him to get a handyman in for the annoying slow bits...

They just did the fly over. It looks like a timber GCHQ. Chard (Mrs Bonkers) still hates it.

Ooh, lovely golden cornfield behind Kevin as he strides across the roof like the Jolly Green Giant in a hard hat.

I actually like this apart from the bathtub in the bedroom

Apart from the bedroom and unfortunate view I love it, I'm jealous of their lifestyle.

Chard is making me laugh doing her impression of his inept gang of mates.
