Doubles tennis is weird.

I watched a bit last night, was alright.

Prefer singles unless its Barami & co mucking about.

Doubles annoys me because of the touching hands after every point that all the pairs do these days. Irritates me irrationally, that does.

Oh yes, that is irksome.

And I keep shouting OUT then realise its not.

As much as we are looking forward to watching the young pups improving, by Nicks age, Rafa had announced to the world "Here I Am".

He was such a force to be reckoned with, right from the off.

We seem to spend a lot of time waiting for improvements. Which haven't come yet.

Maybe I am being too cynical ? Maybe Rafa and Roger are '2 of a kind' the like we wont see in our life time again.

Do fancy Rogers chances though.

Ah, a fed/jock final may be too dull for me-I may cut the grass or something on Sunday.

This match is a bit more boring, but there have been some lovely shots.

We're not having a Raonic/Djok final. It isn't allowed. It WILL be Fed/Djok and Fed is going to win.

Was thinking about the Rafa/Roger 'big 4' thing the other day. I think Rafa and Roger are two of a kind that we won't see again. They're sort of a 'Big 2'. Then you get Novak and then Andy behind them. Both of whom are very good players (although not Murray this year) and I think would have won many more slams each if they hadn't been unfortunate to be around at the same time as Roger and Rafa. I feel a bit sorry for them. Their careers are always going to be judged by how few slams they've won. Bt look who they've played against. Roger and Rafa have won 37 of the last 44 slams between them.

Might let the DD watch Thomas on DVD and I'll have a kip on the sofa till DH gets home. Possibly pop in later if the match is still on - suspect a 3-setter.

Actually it's not 37 is it? It's 31 I think. Might need to check.

Sorry, I just don't rate Andy & Novak the way you do. Perhaps because we have been 'spoiled' watching 'The 2 R's', I don't know.

Maybe its a likeability thing too.

N & A just aren't hugely likeable.

Don't get me wrong, I do like some of their tennis, there's just something missing.

Is that Jimmy Connors giving a slightly raspy commentary? Takes me back to watching Wimbledon when I was meant to be revising for my A-levels in 1826.

I agree with that. I don't like Novak much and as much as I like some of Andy's tennis I'm not a huge fan of his although he's growing on me.

They aren't in the same league as R and R in terms of tennis but I don't think we're going to see anybody in that league for some time. It has spoiled us a lot.

Roger is absolutely romping through this.

It is clinical.

Boring for fans.
