I saw Japan twice in concert in the early 80s. Still got the beautifully shot programme!

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:15

Omg, is it? Right, that's me sorted for the night then! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:15

Ooh their first No1.

SwedishEdith · 07/06/2014 23:15

Well, he must have been a very good guitarist then!
Actually, he's not so bad in hindsight now I'm older

SwedishEdith · 07/06/2014 23:18

Think I preferred Mick Karn RIP

Nuclear war Grin

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:21

Not in 4 bits after all....

Scarletohello · 07/06/2014 23:21

God I used to love men in make up... Wish they were allowed to wear it now. :(

pearlgirl · 07/06/2014 23:24

Why is it I feel thirty years younger watching this?

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:26

I know, can't believe this is 30 years old.

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:28

Oh, I LOVED this. Notorious was a great record.

I loved Arcadia and The Power Station as well, though - totally non-discrimatory when it came to The Boys Grin

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:28

I do love a man in make up.

SwedishEdith · 07/06/2014 23:29

It looks like it could be filmed now doesn't it? But 30 years before this would have looked completely different

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:30

Oh no. That was quick. Sad May have to have a You Tube-athon.

Wham next. Not really as fussed. George Michael looked his best in the Careless Whisper vid IMO.

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:32

Pepsi and Shirlie's dancing.

Scarletohello · 07/06/2014 23:32

I was really shocked when George Michael came out as gay

< naive >

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:33

DH says 'How did we not know?' Grin

I know Wham Rap word for word. Blush

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:33

Can't believe I'm about to watch sing blue silver again, thanks sparkling!

Scarletohello · 07/06/2014 23:36

Ha ha the only song in the world with ' DHSS' in the lyrics! Gotta love it :)

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:36

I bet you can say all the words before they do if you watched it as much as me tea. Blush

'Get rid of the 'getting married' ones' etc.....

thornrose · 07/06/2014 23:37

Me too Scarlet I was very naive!

I always remember the build up to Culture Club being on TOTP. I grew up in a village up North and we'd never seen anything like it. I loved Boy George instantly because he got my ignorant, bigoted dad all het up!

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:37

'Give a Wham give a bam but don't give a damn' genius!

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:39

Pepsi and Shirlie's dancing getting gradually worse with each song.

Scarletohello · 07/06/2014 23:39

Ooh I loved Boy George. Went to his concert at Leicester Polytechnic and they had just got to no 1 with 'Do you really want to hurt me'. The tickets were £1.75! Still got the photos..:)

thornrose · 07/06/2014 23:40

Sooooooo gay with hindsight Grin
