I can remember masses of lyrics too Sparkling. My dd is the age now that I was in 1980 I'm wondering which lyrics she'll remember in 30 years time!

It's downright spooky how well I remember some 80s music. DH heard an intro, said "who was this?" and I just went "Teardrop Explodes" without even thinking. I can't have thought about Teardrop Explodes for 25+ years. Will our DCs be the same with the 2010s music, do you think?

thornrose · 07/06/2014 22:14

Hassled my thoughts exactly ^^!

Did anyone just watch French and Saunders? hahahahaha that dinner party sketch, Grin

DearPrudence · 07/06/2014 22:44

The fast walkers/gymnastics sketch had me in hysterics.

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 22:59

Am loving this. Had forgotten about Raw Sex - have always had a bizarre crush on Roland Rivron...

Duran Duran next! Am constantly surprised that I never married John Taylor.

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:00

Oi tea he was mine. But failing that George Michael was to marry me. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:02

Oh my word Andy Taylor's hair.

Nick Rhodes birthday tomorrow.

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:04

sparkling

God, I loved them so much. I remember our house got burgled whilst we were on holiday one year, I must've been about 13 or 14. All my mum's jewellery was taken, tv, video etc - the first thing I did was race upstairs to make sure they'd not taken my Duran posters Blush. Posters ffs!

Scarletohello · 07/06/2014 23:04

Duran Duran, now they were a band. < sigh >

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:04

Oops, that was meant to be sparkling Grin

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:05

Grin Ever last newspaper clipping still in my loft now tea. It's priceless to me. Blush

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:06

Sing, play instruments and write their own music. Class.

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:07

This version of My Own Way so much better than the album version.

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:08

Poor Andy. He really was the ugly duckling.

Scarletohello · 07/06/2014 23:09

Oops didn't know if that link would work! My favourite band of the 80s, Japan.

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:09

David Sylvian was very beautiful but JT just pips it for me.

SwedishEdith · 07/06/2014 23:11

Did Andy write the songs? That's the usual explanation for the ugly one.

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:11

What's AT got on his head?

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:11

I had all the tour videos as week...Sing Blue Silver, Arena... my mate Amanda and I would watch them over and over and over again every weekend.

Scarletohello · 07/06/2014 23:12

David Sylvian hasn't aged well unfortunately. ( sad, like James Spader, another beautiful man) Time is cruel!

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:12

No-it was mainly SLB Swedish. Andy just played geetar.

teaandthorazine · 07/06/2014 23:13

Yes, David Sylvian was utterly beautiful. But a little too ethereal and untouchable for my 13-year-old self, I think.

Sparklingbrook · 07/06/2014 23:13

I watched Sing Blue Silver very recently. It's on You Tube in 4 bits IIRC. Brilliant it was.
