So who killed Lucy?

Will Ben have a new head?

When will Grant know he has a son via Michelle?

And many other tantilising thoughts that are going through my mind while I'm laying on a sunny beach using maccy D's free wifi :)

Oh ffs I can't believe Ian is bring blackmailed. AGAIN. Only last year Karl was blackmailing him, before him it was Derek, and before him Phil. The Lucy story was good and now it's utter shite.
I just don't believe Ian would kerb crawl when he has Denise and was snagging Jane around that time too. How much sperm does Ian have?!

And what was the twist regarding nicks coffin and funeral? How come Ronnie got away with killing Karl? Didn't his mum and brother cotton on? It's just stupid. And now the secretive shit surrounding Alfie and deano. Who is writing this tripe?

jaynebxl · 29/06/2014 06:45

I agree, it is rubbish. Too many inconclusive storylines. It's like each time the writers have a new idea they just abandon the old ones.

jaynebxl · 29/06/2014 06:45

And I think ian Beale should get a new job as a swimming coach. He worked a miracle in one session with Mick this week!

SilveryMoon · 29/06/2014 08:10

Haven't caught up with the thread, but catching up with friday's. Linda said she'd been holding her family together since she was 15.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/06/2014 15:14

Did we work out what age dd and kinda had their kids
Deano did seem A tad pervy

And yes Ian should be a swimming instructor. I've taught many kids to swim and never done in 5 mins

Looks like Stan is going to be another 'Billy.' Comes in at as an evil brute and then becomes a family lynchpin.
I did like the scenes with Stan & Linda though.

Deano and his heavy breathing is something I could have lived without. Yuck.

Mrsjayy · 30/06/2014 11:09

Linda had her son at 15 yes, I think stan is meant to be like shirley or shirley stan cut from the same cloth and all that

Mrsjayy · 30/06/2014 11:10

I am starting to look forward to seeing mick in his swim shortsBlush

Coumarin · 30/06/2014 14:58

I can't stop staring at Mick's nips. Confused they're so pink!

Coumarin · 30/06/2014 14:59

My swimming isn't great, although I do a mean backstroke, maybe I should book a class with the Beale School of Swimming.

WaitMonkey · 30/06/2014 16:46

There is a storyline coming up about Deyno developing feelings for Linda, and a question mark over her returning the infatuation. I watch to much This Morning. Blush

WaitMonkey · 30/06/2014 16:47

Deano obviously. Blush

CuppaHorlix · 30/06/2014 16:50

Hi everyone new to mumsnet. So pleased there is an Eastenders thread! I agree with what you're all saying about it going down hill. I was on holiday last week. I got back yesterday and caught up on all the missed episodes and wow...what?! Especially with Ronnie. Like you've all said she buggers off for ages then suddenly all that in one episode. I do like the Carters but if they carry on bringing in new storylines with them I'm sure we're going to get bored very quickly. Really hope it picks up again because it was so good for a while there

Mrsjayy · 30/06/2014 17:30

Oh she is his aunrie sister in law yuck, linda loves hrr mick to much

Coumarin · 30/06/2014 17:38

Hi Cuppa Welcome to MN.

I'm still liking it. It's streets ahead of Corrie and Emmerdale still. I've stopped watching those completely now. So long as they don't go down the gangsta/blackmail route too much again. Those kind of storylines are what put me off years ago.

FantaSea · 30/06/2014 20:02

Cuppa welcome Smile

I still like EE but I have been watching it since it started, I'm so old Grin

I was astonished at what a brilliant swimming teacher Ian is. He should pack up the restaurant and go full-time at the pool!

Why did Ronnie have to leave? Mind you, I am pleased she has, I really don't like her character.

Harrin · 30/06/2014 23:04

Did anyone else notice Alecs drop his accent sat in the chair when chatting to Alfie?!?

Speaking of Alfie he's actually doing my head in recently and I used to love him. It's nice to have Kat back on screen a bit but I'd like to see her do some scenes with other cast members for a change

oxygenna · 01/07/2014 00:59

I don't watch any of the other soaps, and occasionally watch EE even though it's dire lately.

Has Ronnie left for good?

Agree that people don't just up and leave at a moment's notice as they seem to do on EE. Their businesses, families, houses all abandoned so they can make a spur of the moment getaway. Recently has been David, Jack, Ronnie and I'm sure plenty of others.

oxygenna · 01/07/2014 01:00

Mick wearing Linda's dressing gown so often! Alfie used to do the same with Kat's when they were in the Vic, Why? Are we supposed to find it endearing? amusing?

oxygenna · 01/07/2014 01:03

Oh, Ronnie will be back on EE by the end of summer.

Yes I did google that

differentnameforthis · 01/07/2014 03:28

I'm in Australia & about a month or so behind you lot. Please don't worry about what you post though ... spoilers ...I like them Grin

Can't believe Ian is being blackmailed again...getting SO bloody boring, why rehash the same story line again & why NOW!!

I think it is pretty unrealistic that Ian was getting it elsewhere when he is with Denise any way! I am sure they could have thought of a different 'alibi' for him. And I want to slap Rainie.

Give it a rest with the repeats, EE, please!!!

Saying that, I really do think that Rainie has something to do with the drugs Lucy had! She would have known Lucy because of Jane's relationship with Tanya...

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/07/2014 05:01

I've been watching we since it was on (shows age) storylines are a bit boring

Didn't see the point in Ronnie coming to tell us she was preg. Coz that's basically it and off she goes again

Kat must be due soon so Alfie will prob go away and she will be a single parent - def something dodgy with taxis

Ian wouldn't have slept with raine. He has sex on tap at home

Seeing Ian and micks Milky white hairy bodies didn't do a thing for me!!!!

OP posts:
bleedingheart · 01/07/2014 09:47

I think Ian has a fetish for prostitutes and he does it when he feels bad about himself.

Cindy left him and he went to Kings Cross.
He had issues with Mel/Laura(?) and he went to Janine.
He fought with Lucy, was rejected by Jane and went to Rainie.
It's not about the sex. It's about power I think.

bleedingheart · 01/07/2014 09:48

I liked Ian's strategic towel wearing to hide that substantial beer belly he's got going on.

Also, did they pay for another swimming session or just get back in?!

oxygenna · 01/07/2014 11:06

"I liked Ian's strategic towel wearing to hide that substantial beer belly he's got going on"

I noticed that Grin Why did I think it strange that Ian should be at the pool at all, sort of lounging at the edge, inside the pool, watching, hanging on the wall he was. Confused

That was strange episode.
Ian: "Come with me, I'll teach you swim, Mick, and help you overcome your fears."
And so he does.

I'm paraphrasing, obviously. But it was very unrealistic (realise unrealistic is a given at any point in EE)
