Was there something else on zombies on BB3 - something more serious/scary or is this the one I'm thinking of?

Can't think of anything else zombie wise on bb3. Not sure how I would describe this programme though.

OP posts:
ZebraZeebra · 28/04/2014 22:55

I think it probably is the one and the same. Those that have seen it - is it serious/scary or is it kind of black humour?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2014 23:47

This was about zomblies who were given a drug and they went back to being human tho were dead iyswim

They were pale so had to have flesh colour painted on to them

The other people in the village didn't like the
Esp if their children had died

anonacfr · 28/04/2014 23:54

It's not scary but v dark.

I guess zombies in the show are a metaphor for intolerance and fear of the unknown. It's actually hard to work out if the zombies as man eaters were 'aware' or not but they are medicated and back to their old selves when the show start. It's really about how/ if they can be rehabilitated and go back to their communities.

I saw the first series at the weekend and found it very moving. Nothing like the Walking Dead though.

AmberLeaf · 04/05/2014 21:37

Yay.

Ive re-watched series one this weekend in preparation for tonight. Grin

IMO, there were a few holes in the plot [how did they get out of nailed down coffins 6 ft under? for a start] but it was enjoyable all the same.

Monroe · 04/05/2014 21:51

Oh I saw this advertised and wondered if fellow zombie fans would be watching.

I didn't realise it was a second series though? Can you still watch the first anywhere? Is it any good?

ballsballsballs · 04/05/2014 22:00

Thanks for posting this, I'd have missed the prog if I hadn't seen the thread!

HeartShapedBox · 04/05/2014 22:10

ooh so excited Grin

hoping this series is as good as the first.

AmberLeaf · 04/05/2014 22:23

Monroe
moviestorm.eu has series one on to watch. That's where I watched it today.

it may also be on bbc iplayer.

theywillgrowup · 04/05/2014 23:01

thank god ive found this thread, been trying to post for the last hr laptop playing up

anyway

i saw the first series and was looking forward to this

deffo more graphic than the last hate the new MP,as usual i do find bits a bit confusing,ha ha

from what i have seen so far i think the scared effect will be more this series

see you all next week

AmberLeaf · 04/05/2014 23:05

That was promising.

I guess zombies in the show are a metaphor for intolerance and fear of the unknown

That's a good point and one that appears to be even more relevant in this series going by the first episode.

My son said Victus reminded him of UKIP Grin

Can't wait for next weeks episode. Does anyone know how many episodes are in this series?

RozziRaspberry · 05/05/2014 00:14

There are 6 episodes this series AmberLeaf, i enjoyed tonight's episode and I agree it looks promising.

AmberLeaf · 05/05/2014 00:44

Glad its more than series one [3]

MsFanackerPants · 05/05/2014 11:16

DP said the same about Victus/UKIP. A friend of his in in it, he plays Dean, the long haired former HVF person who's a bit of a div.
I like it because although it's zombies it's not really about zombies.

AmberLeaf · 05/05/2014 12:35

I like that Dean character! Im sure Ive seen him in other things, but I can't think what.

Once my son had made the Victus/UKIP comment, we kept seeing more parallels.

This series definitely looks to be more thought provoking.

HeartShapedBox · 12/05/2014 02:19

what did everyone think of this week's episode?

I think kieran may be the zombie messiah, as in, the first one to rise.

he's the key to the whole thing! Grin

also, Sad poor wee guy in love with jem Sad

AmberLeaf · 12/05/2014 08:14

I thought it was a good episode.

I you are right on the whole zombie messiah thing, what about maxine martins motivation, there was a childs toy in her suitcase last week, could she have had a child that was killed by a 'PDS in their untreated state'?

I think there were even more political parallels this week too, the PDS payback thing has a ring of workfare to it!

ballsballsballs · 12/05/2014 10:25

I thought the PDS had parallels with workfare too, and similarities to how Jews were treated in WWII.

Did anyone else see the divisions within the community and think of the situation in NI?

Also, poor wee ginger boy. And Gem. Sad

HeartShapedBox · 12/05/2014 12:08

they're being very clever with the political parallels.

I think the politician either had a child that got killed by an untreated pds sufferer, or was a pds sufferer who was executed before there was a cure. a sort of," if my kid isn't here now, none of them deserve to be" thing.
