I wondered that too.

I think she's trying to work out why some came back and others didn't and she has a loved one who's died that she wants to come back. I haven't paid that much attention though tbh so probably completely wrong.

I thought the point was that she is trying to find out who was the first one to come back because there is a belief among the activists groups that this will be the key to the second rising. Starting to look like Kieran could have been the first....

I think that's her cover story.

she's talking to someone who isn't there, promising to make it right.

I think she wants the first to rise, but not for the reasons she's claiming.

all the vagueness about being born there, moving away in primary school, the determination to get the parish records when the vicar questions her on whereabouts she used to come from etc...
