Ooh my dh and I love this show! Just getting a bit confusing now but think we now need to sre Captain America.
So disappointed Ward is a baddie but desperate to find out what Skye's secret is! What happened to Mike - I wondered where he went when the Clairvoyant stopped giving him orders or did I miss something?

I think Ward is ambivalent about the Cause, and is only following Garrett. He said in one episode he owes him everything. I think Ward will tussle with his conscience/loyalties to the team, then Garrett will do something to make Ward turn against him, and he'll save the day somehow

Is it just me who thinks Ward is inexplicably hotter now he's evil?

He was very very dull as the straight-up good guy. I guess that's the role Triplett has stepped in to fill.

I swooned when he was in bad guy persona, and I didn't like him at all as good ward

I'm loving the series, just hope they don't drop it like so many other good series!

Can someone remind me about his backstory? There was an episode (seems like ages ago) with flashbacks, and it was set up to make us think he had been bullied by his older brother (?) but then it turned out he was the older brother. Or something. Have I got that right?

I thought he was the middle brother and his older brother made him bully the younger one and he did it. The guilt is from doing it rather than helping him. He sees himself as the bully when actually no one else would really as he was only a child trying to survive.

I think Skye will have to be Ward's weakness. I am putting my faith (pun not intended) in Whedon as far as Ward's character goes - Whedon frequently creates more nuanced characters than straightforward goodies and baddies that we see elsewhere - in the Whedonverse largely good characters have to make morally ambivalent decisions and those who seem evil often find some path to redemption...
