I'm looking forward to that!
Is it "warts and all" or have they tomed it down so as not to frighten us Mums who have children atrting school next week?!

lionheart · 22/08/2006 13:30

Yes, I am too, Tommy. I think C4 are doing a couple more documentaries later on this week that show the lengths to which people will go to get a place in a particular school, as well.

Tommy · 22/08/2006 13:50

that sort of thing frightens me lionheart
think it's because we have good Catholic schools round here and we qualify for them so it's not really an issue for me. God knows what I'd be like if we didn't

Whizzz · 22/08/2006 18:12

Bump - looks a good prog ! OO Vino - a claim to fame !

vino · 22/08/2006 18:55

Don't know if it's warts and all or not! Just remember them filming last year. It's not the class that I was in, but they did film in ours a few times and whole school things!! It is a good school and the teachers ans LSAs featured are great.

Saw the trailer of a kid picking his nose and eating it

scotchick · 22/08/2006 19:08

Don't think I can watch it with my ds2 starting school tomorrow. Apparantly they focus on one boy whose dad committed suicide and one girl who is shunned by all her classmates.

Whizzz · 22/08/2006 20:48

On in 10mins

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 22/08/2006 21:03

Anyone watching?

My DS1 starts reception this year

Whizzz · 22/08/2006 21:04

It has nearlly made me cry.....Isaac....

futurity · 22/08/2006 21:08

Am trying to resist the urge to wake my DS (who starts reception in 2 weeks) and see if he can undress himself!!

Was tearing up in the first few minutes of the programme!

Ds1 will be in their position in a couple of weeks, and they all look so small...

One of them has just said he's sad because he hasn't got any friends

And Isaac being taken to the Head's office, he looks so small and sad holding the TA's hand... oh dear, might be changing the channel soon!

i agree...they all look so tiny! DS tried his uniform on the other day and I was thinking how big boy he looked but really he is only just over 4 1/2 and school seems so huge and a heck of a long day for him. Sure he will be fine though...just me who has to get through it!

I just said to DH that I remember my first teacher too...and the carpet that smelt of milk

southeastastra · 22/08/2006 22:02

aw that programme has made me want to be a teacher. my little boy was (still is a bit) a biter. my son really struggled at the start of reception but onwards and upwards year 1 in two weeks (sob)

vino · 22/08/2006 22:08
